A good place to start reading about leadership
Leadership books remind me of cooking, there are a finite number of common ingredients that make up the majority of dishes, but there seems to be an infinite number of ways to combine and present these ingredients.
Not so innovative
Maxwell's concepts of what a leader is is quite accurate.However, I don't think he needed to spend over 200 pages to define what a leader is.That's what this book came to be: one long, repetitive, obvious definition for leadership.I didn't see these as laws so much as nuances of what he'd already said.

The basic smart course in sales techniques
Seldom is a book as aptly named as Selling 101. This is a true primer on the ABC's of selling. Author and sales expert Zig Ziglar walks you through the sales process, teaching you how to find prospects, overcome "call reluctance," pose the right questions and ask for the order. He touches on all of the fundamentals, using examples from his experiences to illustrate his main points. His brief, concise prose is easy to understand and even easier to incorporate into your sales practices. The seasoned sales professional will not find anything new in this basic textbook, but we recommend it to anyone who is new to selling, particularly if you lack a mentor to give you this kind of guidance. What you need to know about sales
This book contains what every salesperson should know about sales. There are not reasons for not getting sales, you just didn't get past the objection. This book puts things in a whole new light. I highly recommmend it.

Over The Top is better
This is a very good book from Zig..however, it seems to be aimed at readers who are unchurched or don't have a relationship with Christ...neither applies to me. Over The Top is a better book because it seems to be more geared toward diehard Zig zealots like myself because Over The Top is centered on advanced personal growth. Better Than Good is a great book for those who are just getting exposed to Zig, though..a lot like See You At The Top. His stories are always great, no matter how many times I hear them.

I have the audio cassette version, and i must admit this is one of Zigs best audio programs. The first part of the tape or cd talks about Self Image, then it goes on the Prospecting, and then other areas of sales. Dont waste your money on any of Ziglars other tapes, if you want an audio program which will benefit all areas of your life, this is the one. We are all in sales, you sell yourself in an interview when trying to land that job you want, you sell yourself to that guy or girl that you want to ask out on a date. We are all in sales. Just a little note, these audio programs where done quiet a few years ago, and now they have been put onto Cd's, if only it were made available on cd in the first place, because i ended up buying the cd version and giving the cassette version to my friend. Read with a mind open to all things and attached to nothing
It seems to me much of the problem some readers are having with The Seat of the Soul is having the material validated so that it meets their approval. That is an impossibility due to the very nature of the subject. In order to comprehend certain things we must change our current frame of reference. This is explained in the book:

I'm so surprised by the negative reviews for "The Seat of the Soul" on Amazon that I felt compelled to write this one.This is one of the greatest books ever written.It completely transformed my life and will yours too if you read it thoughtfully and are able to absorb Zukav's concepts.

Worth reading
This book has a lot of very good material on enthusiasm and goal-setting and attitude. I highly recommend it for that. However, Zig gets a little preachy when he starts telling us we should spank children to discipline them, as well as his religious views. The final chapter is basically just thrown in to tell you his views. The main problem I have with the book is how Zig refers to homosexuality as a "bad habit" and how he equates "homosexual" literature with pornography. If you can overlook his homophobia, you will probably enjoy the book and get a lot out of it.

America's motivator!
When I first heard Zig Ziglar, I was not a fan. To me, he came across more like a carnival barker. I really preferred Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy, Denis Waitley, Earl Nightingale and so on.

Great Ideas
Zig Ziglar definately gives alot of thoughts and ideas in the book. Some of the things he said, really hit home to me and I felt I could really apply what he was talking about.
so what if hes christian?
a very ignorant thing to do would be to exclude everything he has to say because he would cite the bible or jesuses teachings.given alot of people are christian, alot of people dont mind.i myself am not christian, im a setian, however it doesnt mean that even when he cites the bible, what he has to say isnt valid or doesnt hold water.

This set has some great ideas for new sales sales people.I would suggest this because you can listen to several speakers who all have their own CD's.Pick the speaker who you learned the most from and buy more from that speaker.

does this come with a money back guarantee?
Inane, useless information from a speaker so boring I could hardly get through the 3 CD's (but felt like I had to since I had spent the money on them). Perhaps he is a great salesperson-but I cannot see it.I bought this on the strength of the reviews and am now convinced they were his friends or family stuffing the ballot box.I think this information was aimed at someone in grade school, not a professional sales person.

Responding to "slow down ziglar"
This is a great book.Most of the stuff that Tony Robbins teaches in his 300$ influence programs has the same exact tenants that Ziglar teaches.Ziglar is the best teacher for success principles, period.I have studied in depth brian tracy, anthony robbins, earl nightingale, jim rohn, and anyone else of note in this field.Ziglar is the best all around.Earl did start it all with lead the field and that may be the best condensed program out there BUT Zig is the best today.Tony and Tracy are 5 star speakers also.

Reflection of yourself in this book
I must say I don't understand the other negative reviews.I found this book to be absolutely wonderful.Gary and Linda tackle the seeds of addictive behaviors, be it food, alcohol, drugs or sex.They also tackle issues such as perfectionism and work-aholism as well as others.I love the gentleness with which this book presents itself.It is not a book that you quickly read through and/or skim along.You need to read a section and actually think about what is stated to receive the full and rich benefits.Yes, it is written in a simple language and does repeat certain concepts; however, the concept is written to further stress that we need to look inward rather than be constantly reactive to our outside stressors. It offers yet another way of looking at our emotions by focusing on the energy of them and where that energy is released in our bodies. It also offers more seeds of self reflection. I loved this book and will recommend it to others whole-heartedly.

Emotions, Soul, and Heart Combine to Make a Person Whole.
This is a continuation of The Mind of The Soul by this pair and The Seat of the Soul by Mr. Zukav.He has published three others about the soul, yet he is not a psychologist or specialist in this field.This is an extremely simplified textbook which found its way to the library sale.The bold-faced "highlighted" parts throughout are distracting.

Good, but Zig's has better to offer
This tape is apparently a combination of at least two presentations (Zig's voice tone changes noticeably, and his verbal outlining is interrupted).This is a very short overview of Zig's philosophy, and might be a goodintroduction to his work.Yet it is too rushed and is presented at thesurface level only.As a result, it just does not have the impact we havecome to expect from one of the great motivational speakers.I recommendyou spend just a little more for the "Success and Self-Image"tapes.For those of you who already have those tapes, you do not need tobuy this one.

How To Be A Winner
If you really want to learn what it takes to be a winner, this is the audiobook you should listen to.Excellent tape for your children to listen also, if they learn this concepts early in life they will learn what theyneed to do on a regular basis in order to excel in whatever they choose todo.

Another gem from Ziglar
This audio program is great. Zig Ziglar is a wonderful speaker and I feel great every time I listen to him. I would recommend any of his audio programs. The only drawback to this specific audio program is that it contains material found on other Zig Ziglar audio programs, most specifically the audio program "Goals". However, Zig's message is worth hearing over and over.
