Life changing information
I recommend this book all to my clients and friends. It is a must read for parents who honestly want to be the best parent to their children and who really want to show up in this life as the best they can be. I always keep a few extra copies on hand to give away.

If you want to FEEL different -then do the Process!
I did the Hoffman Process almost three years ago and have referred many people to it since then.I can, with an open heart, honestly say that doing the Process was the biggest gift I could have ever given myself, my parents and all the people I love.If you have a voice within that is searching for something and you just don't know what it is -then consider the Process. Best inspirational book
This is the second copy I buy of this title. Inspiring, emotional, great!!!

A treasure of a book
If I were told that I could have only one book of my many hundreds, I think "Pocketful of Miracles" would be my selection.I first purchased this book several years ago for myself, and I have since bought a copy for at least fifteen friends and acquaintances.

Minding your thoughts can mend your body
MINDING THE BODY, MENDING THE MIND by Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., was recommended to me when I was trying to adjust to a new work environment. I found it tremendously informative and helpful in a number of ways.

Very highly recommended
Friends have been telling me for years that I am entirely too pessimistic. With an eye toward changing, I searched the local bookstore shelves a book that presents a balanced spiritual optimism. FIRE IN THE SOUL by Joan Borysenko, Ph.D seemed to meet my needs exactly. Certainly the concept that every difficult experience provides an opportunity for soul growth is not new to me. But Borysenko has a gift for presenting familiar material in a way that is refreshing and revitalizing as she points to the paths that allow the pain of soul making to lead to deep healing. This book helped during a very difficult time
I read this book during the recent hospitalization and subsequent passing of my wife. In the course of dealing with death and dying, I experienced what I would call a spiritual awakening. This book helped provide a context for some of what I was experiencing and was actually a source of incredible comfort. I'm in the process of re-reading this book now & again find it helpful and affirming for the spiritual path I now find myself to be on.

Imperfect but still useful spiritual guide.
Much of what J. Borysenko writes is, for me, too "out there" to be accessible (e.g., her chapter on past lives).However, much of what is written here is also extraordinarily helpful to those of us seeking practical steps toward creating a more compassionate relationship with ourselves and with others.If you can read this book with a view to skipping over the more fantastic claims and discussions, then I suspect you will find some profoundly excellent guidance. ... WONDERFUL: Nuts and nolts for learning about yourself
Jon Kabat-Zinn helps even the most distressed of us learn about self-healing and self-nuturing. I am a physician and I recommend this to ALL of my chronic pain/depressed/anxious patients, and it has dramatically changed many of their lives.
Great gift for a friend.
This book is a bitof a paradox.It is dead simple but quite complex all at the same time.I have utiised the program as detailed in the book in its most simple form.Follow the steps and see what happens.It is a great guide and it works and that is why I bought my most recent copy as a gift for a friend.However the basics are just the beginning.In very simple language this book gives you access to a new way of thinking about "you & the world" and a vast array of quality sources and peer reviewed references to support and elaborate on the ideas presented in the book.This book is the antithesis of most of the self help babble in the market place.It's the product of research, clinical experience, time and results.It's a great book that plots a simple path for those who need to find the space and time for centering their lives, once there, it gives them a framework and any number of directions that will enable them to anchor that tranquility in real time.

A study and course in life
This is really a mini course in a book form on how to keep and get you life together. I have practice a lot of various faiths, that have helped my life. So this book has come at a point in life that has fit in quit well. It is a book which you have to take your time and work with. You should follow the exercises and reflecton what is being taught. I would recommend this book to anyone going through a crisis in life or trying to get back on tract after living through one. Do not pass it up. You will learn advice to pass on to friends as well. A practical and life changing guide
Joan Borysenko's book, Inner Peace For Busy People, is an intelligently written, thought provoking read.She has demonstrated a deep understanding of those things that create familiar feelings of being overwhelmed and stressed to the max, and better yet, she gives practical solutions on ways to cope with that stress.The chapters in this book are short, one page or a little more.I found that the best way to read this book was to read a chapter a week and attempt to instill these lessons gradually.I can honestly say that it helped me to find new ways to relax and enjoy life, in spite of feeling at times as though I am "crazy busy" as the author discusses.I highly recommend this book.Unlike other self-help books, this guide doesn't overgeneralize, or have within it's pages unrealistic expectations that people would have difficulty implementing in their own lives.I found it to be incredibly practical and life-changing.I feel more rested and relaxed than I have in a very long time.

I had heard of this author for a long time and never read any of her work, so it was with careful reflection and consideration that I opened this book - attracted by the "Peace" and "Busy People" of the title.

Light headed
The worst book on guilt I have read so far. A salad of pseudo sience and new age bla bla.

Know Yourself
This book is a keeper. Borysenko gently holds a mirror up for us to peek into our essence and see through our masks. We are a kaleidoscope of feelings, a symphony of thoughts drumming our consciousness, and much, much more. Joy comes with the observer, with insight into our humanity, with unraveling the heartless assumptions we have made about ourselves, and with letting go of the shame we carry.An articulate, important book.

This tape has helped me relax on many, many occasions. I have almost worn out my tape. Joan's voice and the music are exceptionally soothing.You don't even have to pay attention to it, in order to get benefit from the tape.I just wish it came in CD.

A Great Find!
If a book makes me look forward to mid-life - I am all over it! This book was actually required reading for my course study in human development - what a find!Here, Harvard researcher and bestselling author, Joan Borysenko, takes the cycles of a woman's life and divides them into 7 year increments. Along the journey, she also makes a great case for debunking old myths about women and aging.?That's a Big 10-4, Ms. Borysenko! I find myself constantly at odds with the "beauty" images that the media gives us.I mean, come on, why 'o why are we more often rewarding people for how they look and less for what they contribute to society?
Individuating
Anyone wishing to understand the biology and psychology of the young woman will find this book invaluable. I especially found the concept of individuation at around 12-14 years old a very enlightening concept- shedding some much needed light on the teen years. A graceful and empowering book!

very superficial approach to spirituality
I'll keep this review as short as possible due to this book being a very disappointing read.
A microscopic glimpse into the soul of a woman.
The author of this book, Joan Borysenko, is a leading authority on women's spirituality, which confounds me, because I did not know there was such a thing. An authority on spirituality I mean, since spirituality - well, read the book, because it is very well written and it is the story of a woman who is searching for the perfect fit between herself, her physical "me" self, and her spiritual self. The woman and her husband have no problem traipsing the continents in quest of the answer to their why am I heres and who am I's, and it makes for very interesting reading. I can't imagine how it is expressed from a soul to a written page as it attempts in this book, but what I enjoyed was the various descriptions of all kinds of practices, cults, religions, sects, and the quest itself is daring and adventuresome. These are good people, this is a good book, but I wondered why they were looking. Isn't the answer in the mirror?

I listened to this tape while I was recovering from a back injury. Themeditation uses guided visualization and deep breathing to help focus onwhatever part of your body suffers from pain. Gestalt Therapy at its best
Ilana Rubenfeld combines Gestalt Therapy and bodywork in this excellent book. For anyone who has read Perls, Hefferline and Goodman's "Gestalt Therapy", Ilana's book provides real life practical applications of the theory.

A Woman's Necessity
I Loved this.It was my first experience with Joan and since then have collected many of her writings and workshops. I am so excitied about the spiritual journey that she is guiding me through that I have loaned the set to many of my woman friends!!!You will love the meditation portions of the program. BEAUTIFUL & RELAXING
On side 1 of this cassette Dr Borysenko relates her spiritual awakening and examines the concept of angels in the mystical traditions of Judaism, Zoroastrianism and Christianity, as well as phenomenological evidence. She also discusses the near-death experience. The side is concluded with a discussion of the 4 archangels and their qualities: Uriel (Light of God), Michael (Likeness of God), Rafael (Healer of God) and Gabriel (Strength of God). On side 2 is a guided meditation where the listener is first relaxed, a prayer is offered and the 4 archangels are then invoked in turn.The harp and choir create a beautiful musical ambience. Repeated listening to this side of the tape brings about a refreshing feeling of serenity and rejuvenation. The more psychically aware one is, the stronger will be the feeling of angelic presences around you.

This Tape Healed My Sister's Chronic Leg Pain
My sister was visiting me, and I gave her my personal stereo andheadphones, and the healing meditation on side 2 to listen to. When she was15 she had a leg injury from a motorcycle accident. At 50 years old the legpain still bothered her. The tape caused the pain's energy to exit throughher foot -that was 2 years ago- and she has been pain free ever since. Nowshe tells everyone about it.
