It is only in the last year that I've dug deep into my spiritual journey in this life.
Think before you buy
I have read almost all of Sylvia Browne's book and out of curiousity decided to flip through the pages of this one.After reading a little bit of what she has written, I felt like I was reading one of her earlier books.Yes, she does get a very repetitive, but some of the topics recently have really made me question her validity.Either she has run out of interesting and new information to share with the public and is forced to make things up, or her ego has gotten the best of her and she actually believes that she knows EVERYTHING!
Same old, same old . . . .
I love this lady dearly and have seen her in person three times at lectures/book signings.However, nothing in this book is fresh - rather it rehashes material that she's had in print for a long while.Every day when I leave my home I ask Lillith to protect my pet and keep her healthy...it wasn't until I read this book that I remembered it was Sylvia's initial publication of the Lillith information that got me started doing it (that's how long it's been...that I'd even forgotten the origins of my request).Sylvia has been teaching us for so long, I have to wonder if there's anything left that she has not addressed. Anymore I just get her books from the library - then if there's something of interest that I want to keep for future reference, I'll purchase it.If this is Sylvia's way to keep her face and her ideas in the public domain, then more power to her.I'd rather hear her lovely renditions of Home than the fire and brimstone others choose to hawk. ... If you haven't read the book or don't believe in the philosophies, don't post about her books.Go to the James Randi books and post on his.You don't need to burst our bubbles.Go into a Baptist or Catholic church and stand up and tell everyone their beliefs that keep them on a content and less worried life due to spirituality is all false because science says so.Sylvia Browne makes me feel better about my future and my departed family's existence and we don't need people like you ruining our inner peace.Go somewhere else and ruin somebody's day you looser.

Her best yet
I've read many of her books in the past year.For me they are always uplifting and encouraging.I would have to say that this particular one was by far my favorite.
The best book
I love this book. I think this is the best book. This book is based on real life experiences. Every tenet is vital and has sense. I can reread this book a lot of times and find something new and valuable for myself. After reading this book I get very curious about biography of Sylvia's grandmother. I think it will be very interesting to know about her life, her responses to difficult situations. Thank you Sylvia for this wonderful book.

MIND EXPANDING AND EDUCATIONAL
This book explains the tenets of Sylvia Browne's church "Novus Spiritus" and how she came to the conclusions about God, our purpose on earth, prayer, etc.Sylvia is definitely qualified to write such a book.She is a well educated, accomplished, life long student of world theology and history.You can't go wrong with this book, as it will teach you many things you never knew.Great reading if you want to expand your horizons and know more of the practical truth about spitiuality. ... What good is there to write a book about the hereafter if it is only speculation?
good book but all lies
i purchased this book several years ago and enjoyed it immensely.and after seeing her on montel williams and hearing her on coast so coast am with art bell, i was completely hooked. what a truly amazing gift she has, right?i even went as far as booking a reading with her.the reading came and went. . . and absolutely nothing she said came true.while the book was a fun read, i learned a rather expensive lesson and will never again waste my money on anything that has to do with sylvia browne.

Love This Book
I read this book when it first came out and then loaned it to someone.I never got it back so decided to purchase it again.After reading it the second time, I was just awestruck by how much this book affected me.I have read most of the life after life books by numerous authors.Some are more believable than others but Sylvia Browne's is one of the most believable yet.It is easy to read and understand and you can actually visualize how things probably appear on the other side.One of my favorite parts is the appendix which lists the categories of Life Plans that we use when scripting our earthly incarnations.It is interesting to see how one specific category will jump out at you giving you a better understanding of why your current life is the way it is and also why other people in your lives make the choices that they do.I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is exploring the afterlife. ... Great book
I will make this fast. This was my first Sylvia Browne Book and it had me hooked. I was excited every chance that i got to read it. It opened a few things up about dreams that i've had for years and some i've had as a child. She does not give you direct interpretation of every thing you dream but makes you find your own meaning after all we are all different. Boy some things that she stated hit me pretty hard, how i could have missed that myself. It really helped me see what my mind was telling me subconsciously in my dreams ~ and what i need to do to fix that. Now when people ask me what their dreams mean it's still hard to interpret them but it has become somewhat easier.

Well informed book
This is very informative.Makes you take a look at past dreams that you've had. Very intersting about how children dream. Good book.

So many dreams so little time!
I bought this book hoping to gain some insight into my dreams because I have had the most vivid sometimes crazy dreams you could possibly imagine.I give this book 3 stars because I was starting to get bored reading it.There was some interesting stuff in the book like totems which are animals in dreams that we have "chosen" as "protectors" because animals are pure spirits and most sacred to God. I had never thought of them that way in dreams before and so this book did make me look at animals and a few other things differently in my dreams. But I started to become bored with all the account stories from other people about the content of their dreams. I found myself skimming alot when another dream was told here and there. I skipped to parts I was most interested in.Some one else might not become bored, as I did, reading other people's dream accounts in the book so that is why I did not give this book less than 3 stars.I did learn a few things and will look for other souces of information on those topics.So my search moves on. She Makes It Up As She Goes Along.....
I used to think the world of Sylvia Browne--until I started to read more widely about the paranormal. Now I can see how empty of content her books are. Whether its on paper or on television, Sylvia is obviously just spouting things off the top of her head--no validations or evidence needed.
so far so good...
I didn't want to put the book down and i probably would have finished it but i had a newborn and a 3 year old wanting my attention.
book was excellent
enjoyed it greatly. it works well as a reference book... or even as a book to flip to a random page and enjoy a new definition with Sylvia's twist put on it. referenced something she presented as a fact with another book of hers and found an inconsistancy... not sure if that was a mistake in editing or what but- this book was interesting if nothing else. if the fantastic interests you at all i think you'll find this book fascinating.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!
When I order Contacting your Spirit Guide I wasn't sure what to except. Oh my was I surprised!!!!! What a wonderful book, I couldn't but it down. Thank you Sylvia for all of your books and all of your help!

Sylvia does a great job of writing so the novice reader can understand what she is saying.Once I started the book, I had a difficult time putting it down.The included cd is a wonderful addition to contacting your spirit guide.

The Comedy Hit of the Season!
As a librarian I am very familiar with Sylvia Browne and can attest to the popularity of her books.I don't read her myself but many of my patrons do and if I can find room on my shelf for Ann Coulter Sylvia Browne is more than welcomed.Unlike Ann Sylvia is not evil.
Loved this book
As usual I totally enjoyed reading Sylvia's book.I find this one spiritually uplifting.I always feel amazed by how much Sylvia know's and how little I really do know about life.

should be part of every pet-loving child's and adult's library
this book really helped me get over the loss of my beloved pet fish, Mr. Furious. Well, not "get over"- those who've loved animals know there is no "getting over" the loss of a dearly departed pet. There is only solace in the good memories we have of them. I enjoyed this lovely book. It gave a very warm and hopeful portrait of the after life. I intend to buy a copy for myself and for my young niece who recently lost her favorite kitty. Sylvia is a terrific author!

Great book for children with loss of pet
This book is great if you have children who has lost a pet or a loved one that has a hard time coping with a loss of their pet. They do a wonderful job easing the pain and explain that our pets will also be on the other side for us.The loss of our pets are similar to a loss of a person, we interact with each on a daily basis.If any of you have pets then you know each one has their own personality and are the closest thing to angels.They protect us and always have unconditional love for us. The book is full of drawing and pictures for children.

I read this book.It's helped me understand my purpose and that we're not all here for the same reason. Keep an open mind...
Actually, I am in the process of listening to this book on tape and am getting a really good vibe from the actual author as she reads.She definately says "take what you can and leave the rest behind.Unfortunately, conservative Christians come off as "holier than thou" and bascially to me their concepts of the Bible detaches from everyday life.What good is a religion in my opinion if it doesn't teach you how to be a better human being.As far as the Bible goes, there has been edits made by those in position to do so to disempower the people for their own selfish means.Sylvia goes into this in speaking of reincarnation as an example of the corruptness of religious authoritarians.Remember slavery was deem appropriate by so called Christians at one time.However, Christianity isn't the disease, but those who interpret and misuse its teachings are the culprit of evil and that goes for any religious belief. I believe we have so much to learn about ourselves, life, the afterlife and the basic truth of all existence and to think there is only one way of thinking hinders us as human beings and our awarness of the eternity of life.When our beliefs limits our thinking or actions how great is that, I ask?I say stop preaching damnation and the wrath of God, and show by example the power of what it means to truly human and to love your fellow person. ... Entertainment and nothing more
I probably would have never read this book had I not received it as a gift.However I am a fan of the occult and unexplained phenomenon, so I gave it a shot.The book is entertaining; if only for the fact that her assertions about things like crop circles, the pyramids, and Atlantis are outlandish and fanciful.Her research is morbidly flawed, she sites several websites, and never bothers to site any credible references.It's important to note that the book has no bibliography.Many of her conclusions are a result of information received from her spirit guide Francine, and it occurred to me many times while reading this book that perhaps Sylvia should take what Francine has to say with a grain of salt.
Love Sylvia Browne but not this book
I have read many of her books and I have found them all very interestingand great readings.Most i would read in a few days time but this book did fit my exceptations and struggled with reading it.It was much slower then the rest of her other books.Although i found many parts very interesting and knowledgeable, it just was not the kind of book i expected.But it's okay she can't have 100% great book out of the 20 some odd ones she already has out...

What I think about it...
I like that it's read by the author...I think it makes it that much better, but she doesn't read it word for word. So if you also have the book and try to match it up it doesn't work. She leaves paragraphs out in the auido and adds and changes words. I still like it though. It's interesting to hear her tell it. I think the concepts she brings up are extremely interesting as well. Loved it!
I read this book in one night.It was an easy read and I like SB's writing style.She gives examples throughout the book of clients who were healed of their medical and/or psychological traumas that doctors and psychiatrists could neither diagnose nor cure.Many of SB's clients were referred to her by doctors and psychiatrists after modern medicine failed to help their patients through tests, exams, psychiatric evaluation, etc.One neurologist that SB knows, asked her to see if she could see any correlation between birthmarks and past life experiences.As it turns out, there is a connection between the two and SB documents it in a study of approx. 20 patients.There are other such studies that are documented in the book.I highly recommend reading this book if you are interested in past lives and healing! ... First Sylvia Browne book... and not the last.
I found this book exteremely interesting. I have always been a believer and this book confirms all my beliefs. I think Sylvia Browne is a very gifted women. With her gift she goes above and beyond to help "stuck" ghosts go Home. I plan to read more of her books in the future. I feel like her books give me a better understanding of the unexplained. I hunger for knowledge. This book is packed with stories and information from one of the most gifted psychics around. Highly recommended.

Not Read by Sylvia
If you are like me, you love to HEAR Sylvia's voice and it is your main reason for getting her AUDIO books. The information in this book is 5 star, but unless you are blind, you might as well read the book because this is NOT narrated by Sylvia and lacks all the nuances of her wit and vocal style. Many of the reviewers here seem to have copied their reviews from the book to the CD or perhaps Amazon did so and that is why they don't mention this drawback.

light a candle
not what I expected and it is very expensive for how small it was!! I will give it away at a white elephant party sometime.

pretty good!
this is a good inspirational book to give to a loved one. i plan on getting it for my sister. her cat died and i lit a candle for his soul- it was the same candle i lit when my daughter died. i think she was touched by that- if you love candles or feel particularly close to the idea that lighting a candle is a spiritual activity you may gleen a lot from this book- it is relatively tiny and portable, a great book for your purse. also a cute gift. A+.

Definitely Not Childish
I think this is a wonderful book, and it's very simple and to the point.She makes a point in the book that the scent and the color of a candle can have different meanings and affirmations for each person, and it's up to the individual person to make that decision.The photography in itself is as inspirational.

Not What I Expected...
Although there were few stories about contact with the other side, this book was more of a self help book. It was a nice refreshing book, but had I known it was more self help I probably wouldn't have read it. I would have picked another of Sylvia's wonderful books. This book contained advice from Sylvia about emotions such as guilt, joy, sin, ect. and how do deal with it. There are plenty of exercises on meditation teqniques and so forth. It was a nice mental refresher though.

Interesting
Sylvia Browne offers advice on the many emotions and feelings that we experience in our lifetime.Joy, sorrow, grief, anger, revenge, you get the idea.But she offers such advice in a different way, by explaining what we are here for, what we supposedly did before we came here.What our loved ones who have passed on are doing now.For instance, should we really grieve for one who is better off?Of course not.But will we grieve, of course we will.Read more

Phenomenal
For those suffering the loss of a loved one, this book brings great comfort, makes sense and answers questions we all have about the death experience and afterlife.This was the first SB book I read and bought 5 more.Highly recommended!
