Editorial Review

Blasphemy! Heresy! Who does this man think he is, claiming to speak directly to God?! Jesus did it, Muhammad did it, the Jewish prophets did it, but none of their Gods had the sardonic wit or raw verve of Prophet Walsch's God. Neale Donald Walsch isn't claiming to be the Messiah of a new religion, just a frustrated man who sat down one day with pen in his hand and some tough questions in his heart. As he wrote his questions to God, he realized that God was answering them... directly... through Walsch's pen. The result, far from the apocalyptic predictions or cultic eccentricities you might expect, turns out to be matter-fact, in-your-face wisdom on how to get by in life while remaining true to yourself and your spirituality. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Sad product of our times
I am saddened to think that this book has been not only recieved but accepted and then proclaimed as truth.
4-0 out of 5 stars Of course the fundamentalists are scared.......
It is clear that this is the book that Christian fundamentalists (I say this as an American, but I suppose the Muslim and other fundamentalists elsewhere would also fight it) don't want you to read.
5-0 out of 5 stars How To Upset the Status Quo
Write a few books and tell everyone flat out you're having a "conversation with God"....

5-0 out of 5 stars Ties it all together very nicely
I read Home with God without the benefit of having read Mr. Walsch's previous works and I must say that I recommend it without question.Since I read Home with God I have purchased ALL of Mr. Walsch's previous work and I have enjoyed them all tremendously.Home with God is so special because we all want to know what is beyond our current knowing.I have always felt that my idea of what God would do and be was quite different from what mainstream religions preach.I never could understand how God could hate anything he/she created. Mr. Walsch's God is the God I have always believed in and had faith in and experience daily in my conversations with God.I recommend you take the book slowly and allow it to become a part of you.We are all one people (children of God) and what hurts one of us hurts us all.Reminds me of the phrase "United we stand, divided we fall."Read this book with an open heart and allow yourself to be healed and comforted and reconnected to God like never before. It will positively change your life.
2-0 out of 5 stars Conversations with God?
Neale Walsh has written several New Age style books on his conversations with God, all of them bestsellers and great in popularity. However, I always get the feeling on reading his works his God is a very wishy-washy one.
5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect...for those with an open mind.
I loved this book as much as I did all the others in the "Conversations with God" series. Although it can be read and understood on its own, its better to read all the others first.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Perfect End to the CWG Trilogy
I have really enjoyed reading all of the books in the Conversations With God trilogy.I've found that they've led me to consider "new" possibilites, expand my thought processes, and ultimately to look at my life & the lives in others in a whole new light.
5-0 out of 5 stars God's Friend
God has told us that there are 2 emotions: Love and Fear. Those people that put love in their hearts will understand and accept what God has told us through these books. Those people that put fear in their hearts will continue to be afraid of change and find it easier to blame others for their decisions in the lives that they have created for themselves.
2-0 out of 5 stars The Book Wars
I read all three Conversations with God books and enjoyed each of them. I think there is much of God in the words.

5-0 out of 5 stars Provides a Wonderful, New Perspective
This second Conversations With God book is amazing!I found that it pushed me to the edge of my thoughts, ideas & comfort zones - providing me with a foundation from which to question myself about how I really thought the world was doing, and more personally, how I thought I was really doing. It also brought to the forefront our personal & collective responsibility in creating the "individual" lives we lead, as well as the way our societies, countries & world create - as what we create, we experience - that is our free will.
3-0 out of 5 stars Still have questions to be asked but some answered
This book takes off where the book one ended. The author is convinced that he is having a conversation with God. If you don't believe in God or are a fundamentalist Christian, don't read this book. If you read it thoroughly, you will begin to understand God better and know that he is loving, kind, compassionate, forgiving, etc. All those good things that we don't hear in an unforgiving, greedy, sex-obsessed world today. I was unsatisfied with God's answers on sexuality. I think God doesn't want sexuality to be exploited or misused by us but we do anyway. Sex without love is nothing more than something to do. Love with sex can be a beautiful thing between two people regardless of their gender. I don't think God cared about that as much as we do. He wants us to love each other not just physically but emotionally as well. THere are lot of relationships based purely on sexuality that when the sex isn't acted out, the relationship can't work together. If you can't hold a conversation with your partner, do you really think this person is the right one? We need to listen to God more. We need to stop thinking of ourselves and see the whole picture of the world around us. I'm glad that the book reinforces my belief that we never die and that we return over and over again to suffer in life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
"Conversations with God, Book 2" is a great, mind opening book. I learned a lot, and enjoyed reading it. The dialogue is interesting and beneficial for everyone. I loved the first book, and I love this one too.

Great Book! Really summarizes the lessons of Conversations with God. I'm a little embarrassed to say that it was so simple and profound that I actually found it more powerful and "teaching" than the actual CWG. Hey, if you can't explain it to a five year old child, something's probably not quite right!!

Everyone who cares about the earth and the fate of humanity should read this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best book on global warming and its consequences
As I was researching global warming for my novel, The Remembering, A Novel of Karma and Global Peril, I read five books on the subject.By far, Harmann's was the most thoughtful and helpful, especially his discussion of how "ancient sunlight" -- oil and other fossil fuels -- engendered the industrial revolution and an unsustainable expansion of human population since the 1880's.Especially useful was his projection of how the human race will fare when oil supplies dwindle during this century along with mass population displacements. There are certain ignore-ant politicians who would benefit from this information and its visionary suggestions on how we might correct our shortsighted errors before it's too late.

5-0 out of 5 stars What IF
It seems to me that the people who have given this book a less than desireable review are the ones who are steeped heavily into the brainwashed religious diatribes of what religions have been pushing down their throats as the truth. What they forget is that the bible was written and re written and edited so many times over and over, that one can only believe that the end result is nothing more than what those religions want you to believe....which of course is for their own agenda.

5-0 out of 5 stars There Is Nothing Missing In God...NOTHING!!
The title of this very important book really blows me away..."What God Wants?" Haven't you, in your moments of despair, looked up in the sky and asked the question, "What do you want from me, God?" I know I have and I know that I have done it many, many times.
5-0 out of 5 stars What God Wants
I found this book insightful as well as challenging. This book makes you stop and think and contemplate and realize how beliefs given to one when young should be questioned and looked into more deeply when reaching adulthood.
5-0 out of 5 stars What God Really Wants - and it's not what you think!!

Editorial Review

Neale Donald Walsch grew up fearing God, especially after his mother, a neighborhood mystic, was caught reading cards for a friend. His mother was "trafficking with the devil," according to Walsch's deeply religious aunt, and as a result, "God will send her straight to hell."Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Life Changing
This book changed my life. Before reading Friendship with God I dismissed "paranormal" phenomenon as fantasy, but when I picked up this book (I got it as a gift) everything changed.I researched various subjects such as remote viewing, psychokinesis, and mediumship VERY EXTENSIVELY and found that what the media was selling me was a load of bull feathers. After conducting stringent experimentation I gradually gave up my materialistic ways and opened up to the greater reality. I have since taken it upon myself, like a modern day Paul of Tarsus, to dispel the myths of materialism and show people the truth that pseudoskeptics like Michael Shermer and James Randi try with all their might and resources of CSICOP and the Randi Institute to hide. This book introduces the world to a God they can believe in; a God of love instead of vengeance and egoism like in traditional religious literature. The arguments put forth by Friendship with God and the other books in the Conversations with God series are logically sound and no one coming from a materialistic or fundamentalist tradition can defeat them (believe me, I've tried to do so for six years and failed abysmally).Recommended above all other books. This is a true work of art.

5-0 out of 5 stars You Get the God You Want
It has taken me quite awhile for me to be able to fully accept and embrace the fact that everyone has basically created their own version of god. Even the atheist who claims there is no such thing as God has created a God of non-existence.
1-0 out of 5 stars More New Age mumbo-jumbo
I checked the book out of the library (thanks be to God I didn't buy it, I wouldn't want to give it away - that would be wrong) with an anticipation that it would inspire me.I believe I am able to discern, when I come across material, whether it is faithful and in keeping with the Truth. I found there to be a special emphasis on relativism - as in "there's no thing you can do that is really evil - it's all relative"Walsch also makes representation as though God refers to Jesus as just another man among other masters. Jesus was nothing special please pass the salt.Sounds like Walsch's God is not God at all - but rather someone or something else.

3-0 out of 5 stars Muy Esoterico
5-0 out of 5 stars The key
This bookCWG#1( as well as CWG #2 and 3 and the others that Neale Walsch has written have been the key to the questions my wife and I have always had about life and God. No book we have ever read has given clearer answers. It makes no difference if one believes it is God dictating it or a newspaper boy. We have never heard this wisdom before,. And we read a lot. We prefer to read in English, but we're ordering this to give to some friends who prefer Spanish.

5-0 out of 5 stars Conversations with god 1
This is the best book I have read.It was hard to digest its content at first because it goes against what many of us had been brought up to believe about God and ourselves.I put it down and picked it up again about 6 times. However, I listened to my inner voice and read the entire book. This is the 3rd time I've read it because everytime I do I learn something new about myself and about God.I still find it fascinating and I have to admit that reading it had changed my life in a very positive, authentic, and happy way. So, if you decide to read this book remember that there will be times when you'll think that the author must be crazy and you'll doubt each and every word you read, but keep an open mind, fill yourself with determination and courage and read it.You will not be sorry because you will find answer to questions you never thought you could. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Decent Sequel
It's a pretty okay job of having the same tone as And the Sun if not the same unique impact. As expected the illustrations are amazing, and it's fun to visualize on your own. The biggest issue with this is that it only can get its full effect if you've read the other book or are familiar with the author's other material. Otherwise it's probably not the most high-powered universal way to get these ideas across. Great writer though. For anyone in the same boat as Chuck Brown, seek the definition of "parable" in the first available dictionary.

5-0 out of 5 stars Little Soul and the Earth
This book was every bit as good as I expected it to be.Just like the rest of Neale Donald Walsh's writing it is heart warming and uplifting. A joyous read.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for my child.
The book was recommended to me and I bought it. I did nto give it to my son. A child should not be influenced this way. From my perspective it is dangerous to paint these unwieldy images of confusion into a childs head no matter how well they seem to be written for an adult. Children don't need that kind of grandeur. If I can not be an example of faith for my child that leads it down a path that it choses of its own conviction, then everything else is will just be either fear or guilt. True faith we learn from people we love and respect and not from books, not even from the Bible. We cannot converse with God, just with other people. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Truth Shall Set You Free!
People will appreciate this book, or not, based on their personal readiness to open themselves to real Truth (not necessarily their personal "truth" at the time, but real "Truth").With an open heart and mind, one can use the information in this book to change their lives infinitely for the better.Whenever I reach the end of one of the books in the CwG series, I feel an overwhelming sense of liberation and Divine Love.It challenges conventional "wisdom" in a wonderful way!I very much appreciate the way God's sense of humor is expressed in this book and series, also.I'm not knocking the Bible in any way, but this book is so much more enlightening and refreshing and invigorating. The incontrovertible Truth contained in all these books resonated on a soul level with me, which is more than I can say for all the years I spent in church and Bible study.Read and enjoy (if you're ready)!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Book With A Beautiful Message
One reviewer has written, "Read the Bible instead." Good advice. I wonder if she has? Believe it or not, Christians, Jesus was not Mr. Popularity during his walk on earth. Other religious leaders found him to be blasphemous, arrogant, and completely going against what the Torah (the Old Testament) had spoken about. Do you not remember what he said, "I have not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill the law..."
5-0 out of 5 stars It's the Wake Up Call
I have read nearly all of Mr. Walsch's books. The CwG series IS the world's wake up call. You must have an open mind to be able to see the true depth of this series. At one time, I used to believe as the naysayers. Then I started to wake up and truely see the illusion, for what it really is. People find that the hardest thing to accept is that what we truely believe in may not have been presented through the generations correctly. People have a hard time accepting that any belief, great or small, may not be totally correct. The closed minded will never see this. The wise and opened mined person will. I highly admire Mr. Walsch for revealing to the world, what he transscribed from his conversations with God. I truely and deeply believe what he has written. I believe because I can now see, for when before I could not. His works are far from rubbish. Most believe the Bible in it's present form must be accepted as is. I submit, where is the version of the Bible before it was ordered to be edited by Emperor Constitine in 325? Do you want the truth? 3-0 out of 5 stars Ok for non-CWG readers.
"ReCreating Your Self" is based on concepts presented throughout the CWG series. However, it specifically elaborates on the "Recreating your reality" chapter from "Communion with God."I recommend reading "Communion with God" to fully grasp the enlightening process of recreating your Self.2-0 out of 5 stars Recreating yourself
A disapointing crumb from the banquet of Conversations with God series. Save your money.

4-0 out of 5 stars Typical Neale Donald Walsh
This book is ok.The most important thing I learned from it is that perspective creates reality.Generally, I don't like his sarcasm, but the message is good. ... Read more

Practical book that remember us to Re-Create every day our life... if you had readed the Trilogy of CWG, this could sound's familiar... Very useful

5-0 out of 5 stars being
this book helped me understand that, it really is about what we are being at this moment, that shows up in our reality.

5-0 out of 5 stars You are a Human BEING not a Human DOING
This is a marvelous little jewel to help those of us interested in the CWG series to go from doingness to beingness. If you cannot grasp this concept easily, as I could not, please read Bringers of the Light. It will help you create the life you want. It also helps you to create states of being that you want to enjoy such as happiness, peace, compassion, etc. Very worth the read and price. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Too simplistic
People who say victims MUST forgive may be laying an additional burden on a person who is struggling to heal by forcing them to feel something they can't, making them responsible for their abuser's rehabilitation (remember that so many victims are told to be quiet to protect their abusers), and marginalizing their suffering. Far too simplistic for a self-help book and may inspire well-meaning people to add more injury to someone who is suffering

5-0 out of 5 stars This book gave me a new important idea.
This book says that any thoughts come from one of two emotions: love or fear. If you choose love, you don't experience fear. If you choose fear, you don't experience love. This is very simple, but if you understand it truly, you can change your life.5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
This is a great gift book or a book to kept handy as it reminds us of all the things we need to keep in mind. The two that wrote this book are always great reading but this is inspirational as well as informational.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT READ THIS FALSE NEW AGE BOOK, CHRISTIANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Matthew 7:15 says, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."Such is author Neale D. Walsch in "Conversations with God" and "Conversations with God for teens."The one and only Jehovah-God, Father of Jesus the Christ, has told us everything we need to know in His Holy, Infallible, Inerrant and Inspiring Word, the Bible.First of all, Walsch says there is no such thing as sin ("There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone", he writes).WRONG PER GOD!!!(John 3:16)Next, he says homosexuality is a "genetic trait" and should be "celebrated."WRONG PER GOD!!!!(Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13)These two items alone should demonstrate to any reasonable person that Walsch IS NOT RELIGIOUS AND IS NOT CHRISTIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4-0 out of 5 stars How life could be
Firstly, this is not a religious book; it's a spiritual self-help book in the form of real or imagined conversations with God (you pick). It's important to remember that this is how the author perceives things and we can choose to agree or disagree, it's all about free will. Our views don't have to match the author's, if that was the case we'd still be living in the dark ages and never learn anything new. Secondly, I'd like to ask the parents who refuse to let their teens read this book 'cause of the "immoral" chapter on sex, don't you think your sons and daughters are smart enough to think for themselves and make up their own minds?
2-0 out of 5 stars Consider this!!
To anyone who has or is planning on reading this book, consider this. This book has a lot of words which feel good and can make anyone's guilty conscience ease in thinking that "your own will is god's own will." (quoted from Walsh's books) If you will it, then God wills it because he loves you and wants you to live in freedom, right? Will is a precursor to action. If there is no such this an a 'right' or 'wrong' will, then in essence there is really no such thing as a 'right' or 'wrong' action. If someone else's actions hurt you, you feel that action is wrong. But the person who hurt you certainly had his feelings for acting that way, right? It was his will, therefore he was justified and right and god's right there to back him up. The victim is suffering. Where is his god when he needs him? Was the victim correct in believing the action wrong? Was the perpetrator correct in believing his action was right? In this book, god says that WE have the authority to decide what is right or wrong. The action is both right and wrong, right? Wrong.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you read this review then consider that you might be looking for this book...
Every person who reviews this book as a "True Christian" is mildly to seriously offended.I have been raised a Catholic and I adore this book.Any religion that tries to be the only way to Heaven, the only source of knowledge, the only one who can write a book is afraid of something. The ideas that are presented in this book are beautiful and the very thing I never found in the religion where I had placed my belief. The problem here is that everyone who dislikes this book or any other spiritual or religious text besides the one they believe in, has to hurt someone else in order to be right. My own mother, when presented with my thoughts and questions, can become angry and defensive. I think that anything that is true must not need to sell itself that hard. This book is for every person of every faith or no faith at all.It is simply for the person who is seeking to find out who they are.I felt like I came home when I realized that not another person who has walked this earth was any closer to god then I am...they just remembered more of who they were.So I pick this book because it says something that I already know about myself and just didn't remember.I can't read it without crying because there is nothing like knowing, even for a moment that you have stepped out of the shadow and back into the light. So for all you "True Christians" this is not the party line. This is the story that the un-true christians are looking for.

2-0 out of 5 stars Communion with God
I've read many of Neale Walsch books and just loved them.Communion with God was way over my head.Complex book to read and identify with all the mumble jumble.
5-0 out of 5 stars Vital Reading
It's all stuff that you always knew intuitively, maybe when you were still very little, but society and parents managed to get something else into your head, and you've been suffering ever since.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is right up there
Great books have a ring of truth to them. As you read, you can feel the truth resonating in your soul. Neale does a superb job of letting Spirit flow thru him into our hearts and minds. If you haven't read any of the CWG books, I recommend that you give them a chance. As to which, I have trouble distinguishing. It's like asking me which was my favorite time connecting with someone I love.

5-0 out of 5 stars The most dramatic and significant thing in my life.
I have been on several journies in my lifetime, most of them have been bitter experiences. I have been asking questions about my existence and reasons for being in this universe. I have questioned the authority of thechurch and christianity in my life and the lives of others.5-0 out of 5 stars the book is excellent. Walsch captures the essence of truth
in reading the first book of conversations with God it brought the realization to my inner self that we do have freedom of choice and why would God interfere with that choice. The book was so simple in thewritings and yet right to the point. It reveals all the questions thatpeople do have. It opens up our thoughts to realize that other personsexperiences are given to us and if we do not do it their way than we arewrong. The book was right when it said that there is no right and there isno wrong who are we to judge others. Very good conversation, the truth isthe truth and I am looking forward to reading the other books that havecome out. Someone gave me this book as a gift to me and what a gift it hasbeen. ...
