5-0 out of 5 stars best ky book i've come across
this book explains ky thoroughly and is very simple to understand. i highly recommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars A very good reference and practice book
This book is very good for reference of Kundalini Tantra subject. As we see with al books of Bihar School of Yoga, it also includes some practices that can be done also, it is not only a book of theory but gives direct and clear explanations about how-to's. But a yoga beginner will possibly find the book a bit complicated because of the terminology and practice types.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource, but you need an experienced teacher
This book is an excellent resource for experienced yoga practitioners. Beginners would be confused, and beginners shouldn't be attempting to raise their kundalini. Everyone attempting to do such should be studying under a teacher or guru who has experienced a kundalini awakening (which are few and far between) and knows how to help you. If you want to know the ins and outs, and know what kinds of questions to ask your teacher/guru, than I highly recommend this text. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The Theology of Sex
The the theology of the body is a look at sex to discover what we can learn about God. After all God created sex and we can learn about God by studying sex just as we might learn something about an artist by looking at a piece of art. The first thing we see is that God created us male and female. West shows that the union of man and woman in marriage is a picture of the union of God the Father and God the Son and just as the Holy spirit flows from the union of the Father and Son, children are produced from the union of man and woman. He also makes a clear distinction between love and lust. Love is giving of self while lust is taking for yourself. Marriage is a sacrament in that it is a earthly symbol of something spiritual just as the Eucharist is. These sacraments help us to grasp spiritial realities that we would otherwise have no hope of understanding. Marriage is also a symbol for our union with Christ in the Resurrection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Theology of the Body: Everyone in the world should read this book!
Do you want to know how to love and be really loved by your spouse or future spouse? How does your body relate to that? What is sex for? Why did God make it? Believe it or not, the Church says that sex is a good thing - a really good thing - if it's done the way God intended it. Read this book (especially with your spouse or potential future spouse) to strengthen your relationship and/or understand what the Church teaches. Christopher West does an amazing job of describing John Paul II's teaching on human sexuality! Like my title says, I think everyone in the world should read this book. If people could understand the REAL way to have sex and how to fully express themselves, our world would be a better place.

5-0 out of 5 stars It helped to Convert my heart!
Not only did I understand JPIIs material on Theology of the Body made easy by Christopher West, but I BELIEVE it!Theology of the Body converted my heart!God Bless. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars CHRISTOPHER R GAIZAT
I haven't read this book FALLEN ANGELS AND THE ORIGINS OF EVIL but I have read the one star review of the book by CHRISTOPHER R GAIZAT and it was funny. The review begins with him complaining about a cigarette burn hole in one of the pages of his book (NICE ONE). I think that kind of comment was for the seller and not the review. It made me laugh thinking of Christopher opening his book and finding the cigarette burn hole. Why do I find it so funny? Why am I laughing about it even as I type this? What are the answers? I can only ponder these questions and hope that enlightenment befalls my mind which is hungry for the knowledge and understanding of why Christopher R. Gaizat got a copy of this book with a cigarette burn hole (NICE ONE) in one of the pages.

5-0 out of 5 stars Remains of Giants Found
If you do a search on giants you will see for yourself that giants really walked upon this earth. The bones of the giants have been found all over. In the mountains of West Virginia, many have been uncovered. You can find that particular page on the Steve Quayle Q files website.

5-0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and readable
My only criticism is there is no pronunciation help in the book. I also have the Oxford Bible Dictionary, which also lacks pronunciation guides. Other than that, as an Anglican, I find nothing to quarrel with in its presentation of the issues of the Bible. But since I'm not a fundamentalist, others might.

Editorial Review

Within the pages of this plainspoken Bible, young readers will find a year's worth of teen-written devotionals, one for every day of the work week. For example, in the opening section on Genesis, teens will find a shaded box for Monday's devotional, asking the reader what it means to be made in God's image. "Do you ever put yourself down for the way you look? What are you saying to God when you put down what he made?" Little boxes of text are inserted throughout the Scripture, where teens either suggest devotionals or discuss themes in the Bible. In another box, teens comment on the relationship between Adam and Eve: "The 'two becoming one' thing involves a lot more than sex. It involves two lives becoming one--two stories becoming one."The language, graphics, and frank discussion in this teen-oriented Bible make it a great resource for youth groups. It also makes a loving gift for teenagers who need help understanding how the Bible translates into the stressful world of adolescence. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "One of the five best books to leave with your Christian teenager...."

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Cool Bible for Teens!!!
I ordered this Bible for my daughter. She and another girl in her youth group here in Sweden (we are Americans serving over seas) shared it with some of the other girls and it has actually become top of the other girls wish lists for their birthdays! It has practical stories the girls can relate to and thought provoking questions that are appropriately worded.Other bibles I have looked at sometimes discuss things in ways that I would prefer talking to my daughter about. This uses the Word only!Great Word of God!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent devotional bible
This is an excellent devotional Bible. The first reviewer who doesn't like the Bible because it condemns witchcraft is completely ignorant of New Testament Greek, and seems to dislike anything that cramps their lifestyle or beliefs. The NIV is an excellent translation based on the oldest and best manuscripts and translatedby people who actually know Greek, and don't use alternate definitions that don't reflect the true text in order to make things that are condemned by the Bible seem accaptable. If you want your kids to learn what the Bible says, and not what a Wiccan wants it to say, this is a great devotional Bible. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Learn more than your Bible Teacher at Church Taught you...
I found this book extremely informative and readable. It sheds light on topics that many Sunday School teachers and preachers are afraid to tackle.I've always been curious about the giants mentioned in Genesis 6 and never got a valid explanation as to why they were there and why they were eliminated. Not only did I learn these things, but I also discover those that brought the giants to earth are going to return. There are many moments in this book where "the light bulb turns on" in my mind.I got several answers to questions that haunted me for years.I have now become an avid researcher of the prophecies in the Bible and finally have had the courage to delve into the difficult study of the book of Revelations. If nothing else, get this book to open your eyes to where to study further in your search for truth.

5-0 out of 5 stars Frightening Comparative Analysis of Islamic and Christian Eschatology
This book is a fascinating, frightening comparative analysis of Islamic and Christian eschatology. The author is a Christian (Protestant) who has studied Islam during the course of his long-term involvement in interfaith dialogues.Drawing from the Koran and the Sunna--the two principle sources of Islamic doctrines--he has identified the prophesied Islamic Messiah, Muhammed al Mahdi, as a figure quite similar to the Christian "Antichrist," as described in the book of Revelations, and in the Judaic prophecies of Ezekial and Daniel. He then demonstrates that the returning "Jesus" (Isa) of Islamic eschatology is quite similar to the Christian "false prophet," who will, in fact serve the Antichrist in the conquest and destruction of Israel, presenting himself to the world as a non-divine "Jesus" who is subservient to Allah and his Mahdi. The author's interpretation of the two prophetic traditions is that the Mahdi will re-establish the Islamic Ottoman Empire, which was essentially built on the foundation of the Orthodox Christian Byzantine Empire. This book is particularly frightening in light of the current turmoil in the Persian Gulf. For example, the militias of the Shi'a leader of Iraq, Mohktada al Sadr, isnow called the "Mahdi" army.Muhammed al Mahdi is supposed to return to earth, presumably reuniting the Sunna and Shi'a factions of Islam by his presence. The prophesied destruction of Israel in the end times is supposed to originate in Khorasan, modern day Iran.Skeptics will scoff at the whole concept of prophesy, and the perrenial concerns about the "end times," but, after reading this book, I certainly wonder if we are witnessing the beginning of a pan-Islamic reign of terror in the Middle East, and around the world.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent & Most Informative
The author has made "The End Times", a very complicated subject, easy to understand.Supporting documentation is provided from both the Bible and the Quoran. A must read for anyone interested in the End Times.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Jaw Dropper
This book is a stunning and straight to the point piece of work. Its a clear study of Muslims end-time doctrines, set against the backdrop of what the Judeo-Christian Bible says about the same period of time.If there's one book that you read about Islam this year, I would make it this one.Seriously, I've never read anything so scary, so real and pertinent for our times.Thankfully, the author didn't just string me out and leave me hanging. The book actually ends with some very good, yet sober inspiration.Amazing wild stuff. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars "Theological" Indeed.
I was somewhat disappointed after buying this 10 volume set. Though Kittel gives his all - around views of certain words, that method turned out to be his biggest problem. You will get 3 to 20 POSSIBLE answers to every Greek word addressed in the New Testament by Kittel. Unlike Greek lexicons, Kittel's take on meanings of words leaves one scratching his head. To anyone making a defence of certain theological positions, stick with Old and New Testament lexicons instead of Kittel's theological slants.

5-0 out of 5 stars Grateful to have a set
A couple gave me the full set for Christmas in 1974.They thought it would provide me insights for preaching that also benefit them as hearers of the sermons.I used it by means of the index volume for many years. Finally, I decided to read all nine text volumes cover-to-cover.It took me six years to finish, but I found thingsI did not find through the index and would never have known to seek.At times articles in Kittel can numb the mind with boredom. At other times they can cause it to soar with new insights based in an array of factual information. The reader will probably not agree with everything.Certainly, individual contributors of the articles do not always agree with one another.Still, I would not be without Kittel. My copy is drenched in ink from underlinings and notes I have made as I read it.I know it would be tempting to buy the one volume "baby Kittel" and skip the extra expense of the larger set, but there are key pieces of information that did not make it into the editors' view of what should be included in the one volume edition. Spend the money and get the real thing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helpful Work for Word Studies

5-0 out of 5 stars Error In Quran?
S18 v86 when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: Near it he found a People: We said: "O Zul-qarnain! (thou hast authority,) either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness."
5-0 out of 5 stars Divine Words in Human Language
Very comprehensive and clear manual to operate in this world. Excellent source to understand the purpose of life. These are the true words of God revealing the code and way of life to make life easier and purposeful. Commentary is very helpful to understand the literal translation. Language is simple and beautiful. Summing up, this is the most useful book I've ever read and it is imperative to read this book for anyone who is trying to find the purpose of this life.

5-0 out of 5 stars the English standard
For most English-speaking Muslims, Abdullah Yusuf Ali's translation is _the_ standard. His language is ornate in the Elizabethan style, but not pretentious to the point of being incomprehensible. Ali lends the Qur'an a dignity and refinement that has seldom been reached by any subsequent English translation since.

5-0 out of 5 stars That you should bear fruit!
Bruce Wilkinson does a masterful job of taking the reader through the parable of the vine and the branches in John 15. I appreciate his faithfulness to the words of Jesus' parable and his insight into the true meaning of this parable. This book gives the reader some very practical steps to take in order to draw closer to Christ and to be more fruitful in the Chritian life. I highly recommend this book.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great insights, but...
I was given this book for my birthday about two years ago. John 15, the passage on which this book was written, is a very important passage for ALL Christians. Wilkinson managed to write a very engaging and interesting book with great insights. I have benefited from reading this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Audio Bible
Max McLean made me imagine I was right there! I love this audio bible.I have listened to other audio bibles but none like this one. I highly recommmend it for anyone who would like to have the complete NIV bible in MP3 format. The format makes it easy to use with my Ipod too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Some reading mistaken.
They (ESV and NIV) are both good audio recording from Max Mclean. However, there are some mistakes during his recording in both ESV and NIV. You can catch them when you listen to the audio along with reading Bible.

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect
This is a spectacular product at a very good price.I personally like McLean's reading style...yes, it is different, but at least the Scripture is given some life.If you're the type that falls asleep during monotonous sermons, this is for you. Also this CD MP3 edition is a much better value than getting from iTunes or Audible. For one, every chapter of every book is an individual audio file...so if you just want to listen to John 3:16, you can.The downloaded versions are not divided like this. Also, the sound quality is much better. It is compressed at 22.5K 64Kbs Stereo. The files are labeled properly, so if in iTunes you select the Album Sort column, all the books are presented in the proper order. The only complaint I have is that I wish they would have divided the books into individual file folders...on the CD's they are all back to back, which for an mp3 cd is quite inconvenient to navigate through using your, say, car stereo mp3-CD player. To get to a certain chapter in a book that's three books away, you'd have to cycle thru every single chapter of every book you want to skip first. This package was obviously meant to be imported into some program or another and it shows. What I did was copy all the files to my computer, than burn my own CD's by numbering and creating each folder myself. Now I can listen on my mp3 boombox or in my car and skip from one book to another.Other than that minor flaw its great.I always found it hard to read thru alot of the old testament stuff, and now this brings it to life so I can hear what I've been missing.Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in scripture, Christian or not. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Heart of My Bible Studies for 15 Years
I have had 12 DYNAMIC METHODS OF BIBLE STUDY which I received from Billy Graham's ministry in 1990. I assume this book is a revision of the other. My RYRIE STUDY BIBLE and this book are the heart and soul of my personal Bible study since I am a layman who was brought up in the Catholic church. I felt led by God to see that the Book Survey Method, the Chapter Study Method and the Book Synthesis method all taken together formed a complete blueprint for studying a complete book of the Bible. My best study was the 3600 page study that I did on the Book of Ezekiel. When I got bored with the book studies, I looked up the topical study method. So, I have 25 of these book and topical studies since 1990.
