Poor quality and small bible for the price
I was eager to receive this bible because the reviews were favorable.I am very dissapointed in this product.I purchased the leather indexed edition which has no margins for notes, is very small (aprox. 9 x 6) and looks more like a thin-line bible then a bible which costs over $50.00.I have many bibles and this is the worst quality by far.Very dissapointed with Zondervan.

Tell the critics to ease up!
This is not a commentary. It is not a lexicon. It is not a dictionary. It is a bible translating two very precise languages into English. I am a pastor and have almost all translations at my disposal. This is the one I teach from along with a KJV. I would not be with out it. Leave the tainted helps behind. Those who have ears to hear..........

A "must" for study
I have "worn out" two copies of the Amplified and am now ordering a 3rd copy.I study from a variety of Bible translations (NASV, NIV, Phillips, Message, others) but wouldn't be without an Amplified for more complete view of word choices from original language. ... Read more

A MANNA FEST
I make it a goal of mines to read the whole Bible yearly.To make things interesting, I use different translations every year. I find that the Dake Annotated Reference Bible-KJV is pressed down, shaken together, and running over with information that no other Bible has.It is a manna fest! Often times I get so full of reading and studying the Dake as well as the Amplified Bible that it is my meditation all the day and night. You will find gold nuggets everywhere; words and sentences that you will take for granted; the Dake Bible will define and amplify it. I often find myself in shock! This Bible's translation is very easy to understand and the print is perfect. I don't need large print but it's nice to not feel eye strain when I'm done reading it. Great appearance too. Thin and easy to carry with me anywhere. Love the colors together.

Catholic Bible
I bought this because of it pretaining more books than my New King James Version.I wanted to read them.Found the Bible over all to be very interesting and explains more to my understanding.

The athiest's Bible
The New American Bible translation has some positive features, but is definitely not a Bible I would recommend for anyone seeking spiritual edification. Particularly in its footnotes, it is obvious that it is an edition made by secular-minded scholars for secular-minded scholars, and actively undermines both Roman Catholic doctrine and basic supernatural belief.

I LOVE IT!
I purchased two of these, one for husband and one for myself, to use to study with.We were having a hard time completely understanding the KJV and wanted to use the Amplified to assist.I have an amplied version, but having the two together side by side saves time and is much more convient.

Reasonable Bible for the price but not a great bargain
The Bible is described incorrectly, it is imitation leather which one would expect from the price.The quality of the imitation lather and binding is satisfactory.The color is apparently random.Mine was red but from other reviews I get the impression that sometimes it is black.My biggest complaint is thatthe type is not a very intense black and the pages are not an intense white so there is not as much contract between the text and pages as one would like. There is another large print Bible coming out in the same price range that is worth considering although I have not seen it yet.It is ISBN159856000Xand the Amazon price is $12.92.

PERFECT KJV BIBLE FOR THE MONEY! EASY TO READ!
This is a wonderful and easy to read BIBLE! I highly recommend this to anyone! First, the print is LARGE at about 14 points and it very easy to see and read! When you open it, it lays flat and is easy to place on a table to read or read it in your lap. It is constructed of a very attractive leather-like vinyl. In order to carry around this Bible, I just bought an extra large BIBLE cover for it and it fits into this perfectly. And, I would suggest that you buy a protective Bible cover for this as you can store your pen inside and also church flyers, small note paper etc. For the money, you cannot go wrong with this Bible. I bought TWO from Amazon and am so happy with my purchase!

Outstanding
An excellent way to read the Bible through quickly.Twelve pages is a lot, if you're doing other reading as well, but the set-up is simple and easy to understand.This is a good transIation for quick reading, and the large print is helpful.I recommend it highly.

This is a great Bible.
I have always enjoyed the NIV Study Bible.I like the NIV version, and the study notes are helpful.Some of the study notes are slanted toward certain denomination views, but knowing that, you can pick and choose what is helpful.Overall, the study notes are great.Since my recent cataract surgery, I have been wanting a Bible with larger print.I was concerned about a rating below saying that the print bleeds through the paper and that the red print is really pink, etc.I did not find that to be true at all with the one I received.The paper is not so thin that you see the print from the opposite page.The red print is definitely red, and the black print definitely black.Very easy to read -- even the study notes.I did not have the option of selecting the leather color.I received a Navy leather Bible and was very glad.Had I been offered the opportunity, I would have wanted Navy or Burgundy over Black.Hope this recommendation is helpful to you.

Zondervan NIV Study Bible, Large Print
I read this Bible every day and the large print enables me to do so with ease.I also love the "study" part of it that is included on the bottom of each page.Since I am a new "Christian", the information allows me to better understand what has been written.This is an invaluable asset when studying God's Word.

GREAT BIBLE
This study bible makes reading and understanding the bible a lot easier. The notes at the bottom of the page are very helpful. I use mine in Sunday school. It makes a lot of the unclear statements and words in the bible much easier to understand. I highly recommend this bible and love the LARGE print.

This Bible offers a deeper interpretation of what you read from the actual text. It offers explanation of what went on and why it is important to you today. The introductions and main themes of the books are useful for additional background. The book itself is wonderful. The only negative is the leather cover it comes with. The leather should be of better quality.

Life Application Study Bible
I have been reading in my King James Version Bible and alot of the scripture would go over my head. After my church gave my oldest son the Life Application Study Bible, I read a few verses and was delighted at how I was able to understand. Not just by reading the verse, but the "Blue print" and "vital statistics" and "megathemes". These were so very helpful for me. Excellent for the Everyday Person

Disappointed
The product is not great for the way they stated...poor leather standard...Holeman's NIV is really thin, clean looking and crisp...for the same price

Good, but not as good as expected.
This bible is a good quality bible, in general, but the binding, which is supposed to be "top grain leather" feels like bonded leather.In other words, it feels more like a fake than the real thing.I was quite disappointed in that.It does not compare to the leather bindings that are on the ones by Broadman and Holman.Also, if it's important to you, all of the print is in black...so no "words of Christ in red" -- and I didn't mind that, but some may.
