Simply Amazing
For any woman dealing with the shame of a past abortion this is the most powerful study I have ever taken. Words cannot express the freedom that comes from this book.

Best study ever done in 32 years
Even if the issue of abortion was ommitted, this study is the best I have ever done.Scriptures on anger, forgiveness and depression were compiled in such an order that actual healing took place.Doctrinal truths were revealed in ways that I had never seen before.

Excellent Bible Study
Our women's group have gone through quite a few studies and this material is absolutely the best we have come across. It has a wealth of useful information in the back and is designed to get a group to discuss and confirm that God's word is applicable in the lives of women today. We have seen remarkable growth in our class by both numbers and spiritually.

Women of the Bible
After personally using the companion devotional book last year, I recommended that our ladies' Sunday School class try this workbook in between other studies.Since each week focuses on a different woman, we can easily continue later with the following chapter.So far, the response has been excellent.The questions provoke personal comments from the whole group, although occassionally I find the queries to be oversimplified.Theaccompanying history and scriptures show that much study went into this book.
Amazing Results
This product was ordered for our Women's Fellowship, and the results have been way above expectations. The women's group has open up and started sharing and caring with more vitality than ever before. I can't say the book has done anything, but it sure was used by the Spirit of Jesus to cause them to open up to each other.

Rewarding Faith and Love will come to you...
EXCELLENT book. I am not the best sometimes at reading nor finishing a book, however this one...I could not put it down. This book was great and she made it very easy to understand. Sometimes the Bible can be a bit hard to understand for some people so they just avoid and don't read. Reading this book will put it all in perspective for you in understanding these great women of the Bible. They all have stories in what you can relate to even in our times now. Its awesome and you will greatly enjoy it and it will greatly strengthen your faith in what God has for you. Its a great book for a womens Bible study group, I highly advise it. Sometimes you don't need all the fancy big books to get what you need out of it....

Big Disappointment
We purchased this book for our moms' Bible study group and are very disappointed by this book's peppy, shallow nature.For example, the chapters on Sarah's remarkable faith fail to mention Hagar and Ishmael.We will be abandoning our study of this book for one with a more complex and in depth discussion of the triumphs, struggles, and failures of women in the Bible ... A great gift!
Thirty years ago How to Study the Bible for Yourself was published. Now there is an edition written for teenagers. Its content and tools will help the teen study God's word in a practical and meaningful way.
Why continue to be deceived...
Tim LaHaye, Jerry Jenkins, and others in the Pre-Trib circle, such as Ed Hindson, Tommy Ice, Chuck Missler, etc., continue to put forth the same deceptions that Hal Lindsey popularized decades ago.The notion of a pre-tribulation rapture is foreign to scripture, it is foreign to the teachings of the early Church, and it is grooming the Church for destruction through ignorance and lack of preparation for what is really coming.These men are novices and not prophecy "experts" or "scholars" by any stretch of the imagination; they are those who tickle the ears of gullible Christians.Why continue to be deceived?Tim Cohen, in his excellent book, "The AntiChrist and a Cup of Tea," provides biblically sound and testable evidence to show that the coming AntiChrist is known NOW.Not only that, the same author (Tim Cohen) has now put out the strongest presentation on the whole issue of the rapture EVER offered to the saints of God in Christ: "The REAL Rapture".If you really want to know the truth about the timing of the coming rapture, then you need to hear Tim Cohen's "The REAL Rapture" (based on a volume in his forthcoming "Messiah, History, and the Tribulation Period" series (see Prophecy House's web site, prophecyhouse dot com, for details on these items).

Ideal devotional Bible
The Life Application Study Bible, available in many translations including NIV, NLT, and KJV, is the number one devotional Bible on the market, and one that more spiritual-minded Christians will appreciate. Avoiding too much historical analysis, it can focus solely on spiritual topics and, of course, Biblical applications for your life. It is thoroughly evangelical, but never fundamentalist (from my observations, at least). When used with a historical/critical study Bible like the New Interpreter's Study Bible (see my review; available only in NRSV), one has an excellent, basic Bible study and devotion set.

Great Study Bible
The study notes give a good insight into cultures of the day. The maps are frequent, useful and easy to understand. The "Harmony of the Gospels" is a wonderful addition that should be in all Bibles.

I have had my life application bible for 3 years and I LOVE IT. The commentaries, the cross references, the introductions to each book are so helpful and stimulating. Explores topics and asks questions to bring the text alive
I use this book in a Bible study through a Calvary Chapel. This book is really great. The questions provoke you to dig deeper into the text than you normally would. There are explanation portions that give you historical context, customs, grammer, and the like, all to help explain what a passage means. In addition to helping you get "Bible smart", the book also provokes questions that really make you reflect and search your heart to draw you closer to Jesus.

Great Study Guide!
Of all the study guides I have used, this one is the most comprehensive. It finds the Greek and Hebrew meanings for you, it does the research, it breaks up the book of John in uderstandable and flowing sections. I recommend this along with any of the Shepherd's Notes guides through the Bible.

Great for a Bible Study

Reviewing the workout DVD "Moving to the Word" included in this book
I recently bought this Bible study and haven't done it yet, but I wanted to post a review of the workout DVD that's included in the book.It's called "Moving to the Word", and it's presented by Body and Soul ministries in conjunction with First Place.The workout is 30 minutes and is predominantly cardio work.If you're a veteran of workout videos, this one may seem to be quite simplistic to you.The set dressings and routine are very simple, the leader's moves are a bit robotic and the sound isn't great, but there are some good things about it.Because if its simplicity, there's no extra equipment required.This would be great for anyone-- like someone who's new to working out, or an experienced person who just needs a simple routine, possibly even to take on the road with them.There are 3 castmembers on screen, each doing a different level of difficulty.This is great to tailor the workout to your level.I was able to get a great sweat going by choosing the level that was right for me.The soundtrack is comprised of memory verses that members learn in the First Place classes. This not only broke up the routine nicely into short segments, but it also was great to recite powerful scripture during the workout.When I am weak, HE is strong!One of the neat features of the DVD is a track where the leader Jeannie Blocher takes you through all of the different steps to help you learn them.While an experienced person might see these moves as elementary, this track is wonderful to have for the novice participant.I wish more DVDs had this track available!Kudos to First Place for producing yet another tool to help their participants see success!

A Wonderful Study Book
Going through this Bible Study is well worth the effort.Following it results in a closer walk with God.

Life altering experience
This little book was referred to me by a friend. It took about one week before I actually picked it up and began reading it. My life has not been the same. I found myself glued to the book and sharing passages of it with friends. At the time that I purchased the book, it was on sale buy two get one free and I kept one for myself and gave away the others. I recently interviewed with a company and found that the owner was very familiar with the prayer and found myself repeating the prayer with him. I recommend this book to anyone who is in search of a deeper relationship with their creator.

Excellent content, lacks continuity
I wrote a glowing review of the Prayer of Jabez on December 13, 2000.I gave it five stars and still consider it to be one of the best books on how to pray.I was looking forward to the Prayer of Jabez Bible Study.I could hardly wait until it was published.Now, I have taught through the Bible Study with a small group at my church.I'm ready now to review it for you.Read more

Great Collection of Evangelical Christian books, Slow and Sluggish Software
There are a lot of valuable pieces of software on this CD-Rom. You get about 4 or 5 study Bibles (including the NIV Study Bible), the UBS 4th edition Greek New Testament, the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, Greek and Hebrew morphologies and concordances, (there are also exhaustive concordances to a number of Bible translations, including the NIV) and lots of good reference books, including Carson, Moo and Morris' Introduction to the New Testament, Longman and Dillard's outstanding Old Testament Introduction, and the 5 volume Zondervan Pictorial Encyclopedia of the Bible (which is getting a little dated, it is 30 year old scholarship.)
Look no further
I've tried just about every Bible software program out there, and they all have the same thing in common, WAY too expensive, and TOTALLY non-intuitive. My major requirement for any software of any kind is that I be able to figure out all the basics by simply playing with the program. This is the ONLY Bible software that gives you that. It's not the cheapest program, but you do get the most features for the least cost as compared to other Bible software products out there. It's the first time buying Bible software where I felt the cost was even close to worth it.
Just what I was looking for
I was trying to find a Bible software that would help me with my daily Bible study. One major requirement was that it had to be NIV, because that is the version I like to use.

Secrets of the Vine by Wilkinson is perfect for someone who has embraced the Christian lifestyle and is on the journey toward seeking God's will in their lives.It is a self study on figuring out how to find out God's plan for us.He shows us the significance of Jesus last parable on the night before He died - knowing He is about to die, He gives us a way to live. the topic is crucial for finding a peaceful way to reap the fruit God has in mind for us.Wilkinson wrote a book, devotional and study.I read the devotional first and loved it.So I put together a study.The Bible Study works best in a group.I am not beyond week 1 yet, but so far it has taught us a lot by looking up relevant passages and reading them aloud to eachother.I get a lot more out of the group study than I do when I read it first on my own.It is highly recommended for church groups that seek growth within themselves as members of a family, church and society. ... Excellent Find!
This is the first book by Cynthia Heald that I have ever purchased, and I am hooked!It is the absolute best Bible study/devotional I have ever purchased.You are prompted to read short excerpts from the Bible and are then given questions from the author that allow you to reflect on what you have read.There is space provided for comments, as well as additional empty "notes" pages in the back.I am a very hands on learner so this format is great for me.Although, I am a daily Bible reader, this study has really helped me to grasp the power and awe of God's grace.I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

What a wonderful set of books!!!
Cynthia's Heald's books "Becoming a woman of..." books are excellent for any woman, whether you are just starting to read the Bible or have read it 10 times.Cynthia's writing style was truly impressive to me.Each chapter starts with a reflective Bible verse and an exerpt from a Christian author or speaker.Then it gives you three or four different verses to look up in the Bible, sections to write your notes, and then a section with the Author's reflection on the concept of the chapter.The chapters increase in complexity, each more challenging as you go on through the book.I bought them all at once, along with "Loving Your Husband" which is also in this Bible study format.

Becoming a Woman of Grace was a wonderful study! It went back to the basics of christianity by defining the purpose of the law (10 commandments) and the purpose and reason for grace! Wonderful tool to study God's Word!
I have worn out my first copy of "The Living Insights" Bible by Charles Swindoll (Editor).It is printed in the NIV version and which makes the text easy to read. It has Book introductions, articles, that digdeep into the Christian faith and tear down any misconceptions one may haveabout doctrine. The Living Insights Bible contains character profiles ofboth well known and not so well known men and women of the Bible and makesthem real!
