Brief but no better commentary at this level
Baker's commentary is very brief. This would be an excellent guide for a Bible study leader or pastor without much training in biblical studies. For more detailed exegesis, I recommend O. Palmer Robertson's NICOT or Waylon Bailey's NAC. This would provide a nice supplement to those volumes.

faded print in various places, and text too small
I hope that the Aramaic Bible Society will publish a complete Aramaic Bible along with the Apocrypha, at least for its historical value. I want all 27 books of the Western canon too, please. Vowel points and clear, unblemished text would also help, especially for beginners of the language, such as myself and others. Some like myself and others want to return to the ancient Natzarean path that Yeshua from Natzaret and His disciples lived.

Young children enjoy this book
While this book did not thrill me, my daughter loves it!She has chosen this book over many others time and again to have read to her.It has been over a year since she first saw it, and she still loves it.I run a childcare in my home and the children enjoy it too.The pull up parts on the pages engages children to participate in the story.Even though an adult may not like a story or the illustrations, children are the ultimate judge.The copy I have is a chunky board book which fits well in small hands. ... ideal commentary
This is classic Stott -- scholarly aware but relentlessly pastoral.This BST is my favorite series.
Helpful & Insightful
If you're at all familiar with Stott, you know that he is one of the finest Christian writers of the 20th century. Anything he writes is a pleasure to read in terms of sheer literary quality, perhaps even on the level of a C.S. Lewis. This commentary is no exception.

I didn't know that...
What a great approach to Bible study, although I read it for pure enjoyment.This book is definitely for the adult of average intelligence who attended Sunday school, but was really there for social reasons.We grow up thinking we know so much and then grown we realize there is so much more to learn. This book is limited on the number of Bible stories covered, but the approach is wonderful.I was sad to be finished with the book.
