5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent. . .
This title is excellent in that it address the tri-partite man challenging a spirit of excellence in spirit, soul and body. The weekly scripture memorizations together with exercises and affirmations for practical application are wonderful challenges for the mind. These, coupled with the physical exercises, are great tools and goals to become the Woman God desires of each of us.I appreciate the way each day begins first with feeding the spirit man with a scripture for memorization, followed by the intellectual affirmations and finally exercises to train the body. This title is highly recommended. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars "Large Print"May Mislead
Every Bible is a Good Book, so I don't criticize the content -- however, we found that the print was smaller than even the pew Bibles in our church. Therefore, I returned them, and continue the search for some very large print Bibles to be used by folks who have poor eyesight.

3-0 out of 5 stars This is LARGE PRINT?!!!
I bought this Bible for my 84-year-old mother who is having difficulty seeing, and while the print in this Bible is larger than the print in a phone book, it looks like no larger than 12 point print--the same size as in a normal book. The Bible is the Bible, and the NRSV is a great translation, but I was really disappointed by the publisher's definition of large print.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Thin Bible for Preaching
Yes, the title, "Large Print" is misleading. HOWEVER, this is a very thin bible and is great for the pulpit. Most NRSV's I have found are 2+ inches thick or are of a 'gift bible' quality. This one is not as cumbersome as the thicker texts nor as cheap. There are also some textual notes included in this Bible which others may lack (e.g, the slightly thicker Oxford, black leather at 1.4 inches). If you are looking for a good pulpit Bible, I'd recommend this one. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have
As a revert I am still learning how to pray. This wonderful book gives prayers right from the Psalms, Sermons from Saints, and Popes are also included. For anyone enrolled in the Brown Scapular in order to obtain the Sabbatine Privilege this prayer book is one of the requirements. This a book that should be passed down to all generations.

3-0 out of 5 stars Alright, but there is better.
This edition of the Little Office of the B.V.M. is alright for those who are not picky about their devotions and want an easier form of the Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours) to add to their existing daily prayers.Saying the Little Office is a time honored custom dating back to the Middle Ages.I am glad that this book is in print.
5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful resource!
For those who are looking to foster a time-honored devotion to the Virgin Mother of God, this book is for you.Drawn from the Liturgy of the Hours, the official prayer of the Church,The Little Office of the Blessed Virgin is a beautiful way of praising God, through and with His beloved creature, Mary. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Very believable stories, well written, but Christian bent.
These stories are written very believably. They are also not older stories, nor are they ones you've probably heard or read before (some of these type of books seem to take and re-print previously published stories, and the reader is not sure if they are "urban myths", as they are often re-printed and not attributed to an author). These stories are all attributed to authors, and seem very inspired and current. Please keep in mind though, that most of them seem to have a "Christian bent" (with titles like "A POPE'S BLESSING,A CHRISTMAS PRAYER, or some stories--several actually--speaking of Sundays at church, Christmas happenings, as in HELEN'S GIFT, etc.) 5-0 out of 5 stars An Inspiring Gift
The true stories told by the authors in their latest book about miracles are an inspiration for the reader.I looked forward to this latest book in their series on miracles and was not disappointed. After reading it, I bought several more copies to give as gifts.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book was truly a miracle
My co-authors and I have now had a total of five miracle books published, but this last book in the series has been an emotional one for us.Just when we agreed to do our last book on the mysterious and wonderful things that happen when our loved ones die, and how the bonds of love, the feeling of closeness, and the communication can continue, Laura was re-diagnosed with breast cancer. The entire time we worked on these stories, we knoew Laura was dying, and it gave us tremendous comfort to read story after story of the miracle of endless love.Laura herself was deeply comforted, and secure in the knowledge that she was headed towards a wonderful place. She died on November 4, just a few weeks after Heavenly Miracles was published.Jamie and I will miss her deeply, but we treasure the time we've spent together on these books.Enjoy the stories in Heavenly Miracles, and may they be a comfort to you, too. 5-0 out of 5 stars The best book on Forgiveness
I'm not big on self help books, but this book really got me. I started reading the first couple of pages just to see what it's about, but couldn't stop. This book is just awesome, really helps you understand forgiveness and the gift to forgive. Since reading this book, I've started working on myself and started noticing how my life started to change. I propably would have still lived in the past and brought my anger with me to the next relationship, but thanks to this book I'm free. I can actually say that after 20 years I am ready to let go and forgive. I'm ready to move on and live a happy life, and the only way to do that is to forgive.
2-0 out of 5 stars Totally forgiven means no more asking
DR. Stanley makes the same mistake as practically every other
5-0 out of 5 stars Teaches us to forgive ourselves!
This book was given to me by a friend when my daughter died, as I could not forgive myself, my husband, or God; and as time grew so did my bitterness for life and towards others. This book offered me a chance to heal at my own rate, instead of lashing out at others who offered help.I would often make comments, while reading, like, 'Yeah right!Who are you kidding!I have every right to be a -----!'Over time, and upon highlighting and re-reading this book, my heart began to change.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor Binding
This is a pretty good Bible--I mean the format and size are very nice to have. It's a great "preaching" Bible... but there are a couple problems. The first BIG problem is the binding. Even if you buy the leather version you will have problems with the binding in the same places every time (I've bought 3 of these on different occasions and have experienced the same problems with every one). The second problem is the lack of space for writers like myself--this I consider a smaller problem since it's designed that way. However, I do not think the design of the binding meant for it to be so fragile.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Reminder
This book is a fresh and welcome reminder that the Lord desires us to be at His feet so that we might hear what it is that He is teaching us.In a "Martha" stewart world, we can "get in trouble" if we spend all of our time in service and not enough time resting at the instruction of the Lord. She chose the better of the two.We need to choose to make ourselves still before Him, and this book is wonderfully set up to help us do just that!Thank you, Joanna!
5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book for modern-day "Marthas"
What woman has not identified with Martha while reading Luke's account of Jesus' visit to Lazarus and his two sisters? It is easy to rationalize and say that the meal had to be prepared and someone had to take on the responsibility of doing it, but Joanna Weaver shows the reader that this is not the point of the story. When we have Jesus near us, we need to turn to Him and learn from Him.We need to order our priorities so that worship and fellowship with Him come first, and all other things will go better with His guidance.Weaver takes us through some of her spiritual struggles and shows us that Satan can work through distraction, discouragement and doubt to undermine our spiritual life and interaction with the Lord. She gives practical strategies for setting aside worry, so that we can be more productive Christians and urges us to share "Living Room intimacy" with Jesus, which is carefully balanced with the duties of the Kitchen. This is a valuable book for any Christian woman who is attempting to balance her busy life of service with quiet contemplation and worship.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good stuff...
This book is full of good, solid Bibical truths and hits on many different topics that I think most women can relate to.It definitely gives practical and godly advice at how to find intimacy with God in everyday life. While the book probably has a target audience for women older than myself (after college and probably women who are married and have children), it still has spoken to me.I would recommend this book to other women as it is practical and an interesting read.Joanna Weaver relates effectively to the audience and her voice is not a didactic or preachy.I think she speaks from a heart that realizes the importance of seeking an intimate relationship with God.If it is the cry of your heart to have a more intimate relationship with God in this busy world I would encourage you to give this book a shot. Its practical and enjoyable. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars good book but all lies
i purchased this book several years ago and enjoyed it immensely.and after seeing her on montel williams and hearing her on coast so coast am with art bell, i was completely hooked. what a truly amazing gift she has, right?i even went as far as booking a reading with her.the reading came and went. . . and absolutely nothing she said came true.while the book was a fun read, i learned a rather expensive lesson and will never again waste my money on anything that has to do with sylvia browne.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love This Book
I read this book when it first came out and then loaned it to someone.I never got it back so decided to purchase it again. After reading it the second time, I was just awestruck by how much this book affected me.I have read most of the life after life books by numerous authors. Some are more believable than others but Sylvia Browne's is one of the most believable yet.It is easy to read and understand and you can actually visualize how things probably appear on the other side. One of my favorite parts is the appendix which lists the categories of Life Plans that we use when scripting our earthly incarnations. It is interesting to see how one specific category will jump out at you giving you a better understanding of why your current life is the way it is and also why other people in your lives make the choices that they do.I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is exploring the afterlife. ... "Wild at Heart" is flawed at heart. It is about the heart of man - not the heart of God.
1-0 out of 5 stars BE CAREFUL OF THIS BOOK
Wild at Heart can captivate your interest and suck you in to believing it's all good.Problem with this book is that it is not sound when it comes to true untwisted scripture.I first loved this book and it began to change me until I researched further only to discover that The Bible has been used incorrectly. If you don't believe me,just punch in Wild at Heart on any search engine and read the complications with these writings. If you are a believer you will see in a very short time what I mean.
