Highly Recommended!
This bible is an excellent edition!It is a wonderful learning tool with it's easy to read scripture and illustrated maps and landmarks.It is a great visual aid to help one understand the journey of our biblical ancestors.It also has wonderful color illustrations of the New Testament and the life of Jesus, including a beautiful section on how to pray the rosary.I purchased one for my niece for her birthday.It makes a wonderful gift!

Not approved by Vatican because of inclusive language
I was given a copy of NAB by a friend and did read some chapters.Like the reader above, I got to "Hail favour one" which is quiet different from what I remember from reading another bible as well as the rosary.To me, it is not the same as "Full of grace."This is but one instance.The commentary left me in doubt at times.Well I did a google search and found that a few years back NAB got rejected by our beloved father (Pope John Paul) because of inclusive language.Do a google search for Richard John Neuhaus and NAB for a review.Any other book and I would compromise but not the bible (the word of God).So after some due searching as well as looking at EWTN review I think I am looking towards the Navare or Ignatius.Hope that helps.

Good Translation, easy to understand, and nice-looking too
This seems to be a decent translation of the Bible, though I am no biblical scholar nor do I read ancient Greek or Hebrew.But I can tell nonetheless that they didn't go overboard on any kind of political correctness in the translation, for instance.You can tell it's not a corrupted translation while at the same time, it is brought up to date without being oversimplified.It contains several pages that explain the translations.Plus, a copy of the Apostolic Constitution if you're really into Catholic history and the Church.

PRAYING TO GOD
This book should be a must read for parents, especially new parents.It helps one get through some difficult times.

Nice illustrations

A Must Read for EVERY Woman.
This is a must read for EVERY woman married or single who desires to have a better relationship with the men in their lives.We all have men in our lives husband, father, brother, son, friend or coworker with whom the relationship is worth improving.

It's a short book people, it won't cover every last detail of life as we know it...

Nothing particularly Catholic about the Old Testament
Here is Isaiah 7:14 in the Protestant King James Version ... "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold a VIRGIN shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanual." (my capitals)
Beautiful Bible and an excellent version all in one!
I just recieved mine yesterday and how beautiful it is! Truly remarkable when you consider its only 50.00! Most Catholic Biblical scholars agree that the Revised Standard Version- Catholic edition (RSV-CE) is the best version for Catholics.

Excellent Bible!
Let me start by saying, I am not attempting to review the Bible here. The Bible is the greatest book ever written and the unequivocal Word of God! I am a reviewing this printing of the Bible.
Simple, Clean, Useful
I await the Platinum edition of this Bible. I bought the Gold edition and found it simple, straitforward and easy to use. The gold edition is bonded leather however and very thin at that. The KJV by Zondervan
I like this Holy Bible because it does not have the pagan symbols theNelson and other publishing companys place on and in the Bible. The trinitycan't be proved. The cross was a tool of death. Idols of the cross, thefish, the trinity and many other symbols are to be avoided if we are toworship the true Jesus Christ. The modern translations i.e. NIV and RSV arenot the word of God! Wasn't sure what to expect!
I enjoyed this easy read.I live in San Antonio and see Dr. Fanning on the TV and in public. I was not sure what to expect of this book, but I was treated to an incite into what makes Dr. F - Dr. F and what makes man -man.I escpecially liked the tale of "Mother's Favorite Vase"and the "Visit to the Tattoo Parlor!"Yes those sound odd, butyou'll have to read the details for yourself.Excellent!

A Roller Coaster Ride
Charles Swindoll encourages the reader to get closer to the Holy Spirit yet seems more than cautiously skeptical of any claims of the Spirit's more dramatic manifestations. I found myself more than once starting to get excited about where he was going only to have him cut himself short to redundantly warn readers about getting "fanatical" or joining "cults". While I do agree that Christians should be duly cautious about dramatic experiences, claims, cults, and the plethora of charlatans who have paraded so called "gifts of the Spirit" on Television weighing everything they hear of and experience against the scriptures, I feel his cautions tended to overpower the many excellent points he made about how the Holy Spirit can empower, revitalize, and enable believers. Flying Closer to the flame - Home Run!
As usual, Chuck Swindoll hits it out of the park!This book gives us a view of God's Holy Spirit not often taught from the pulpit.He tells us that incredible power is available to the believer to accomplish much for the cause of Christ, but we usually don't trust God to do much more than the mundane in our lives. good book on angels
Their is not many books on angels out there but if you look to get one, get this one.A very good book.If you want to know if angels exist or not.They do. Dr. Graham goes through the book telling how angels are God's secret angents!!!

I got this book from my library yesterday and read and finished it that night!It was excellent.I did not want a book about angel stories.There were a couple of stories about people and their encounters with angels and they were short.I knew very little about the Heavenly Host until I read this book.I read the Bible every day and I have Bible studies but I missed this part!I love the scriptures and I got plenty of verses about God's angels.Tonight at church the first thing my pastor preached about was in Judges 6 about Gideon and the visit from the Angel of the Lord.I will buy this book! ...
