Wow you have to read this!!!
Reading this book has changed the way I have looked, felt and believed in life. I couldn't put it down, and everyday I keep thinking about it. I have shared with others the aw inspiring inspiration I have received. I am not one to read a lot of spiritual books or self help books. I have read a few but this one definitely surpasses any book I have read in a very long time. I am blown away. And it has made me take stock of my own life and my beliefs and it has shifted. I started thinking about whom in my life do I need to forgive. I truly recommend this book to everyone! We all need it especially now with what is going on in the world today.

Life-changing story
I could not put this book down.I've read several other books on the Rwandan genocide and I really appreciate this one the most for breaking down a complex political situation/history into one that is easy to understand for all readers, not to mention one of the most emotionally touching books I've ever read.This book has changed my perspective on life.

Best Book I've read all year!
I love to read, mostly spiritual self-help books, and a few biographies. I would say I read about 2 books a month on average, sometimes more. Any way I simply could not put this book down. I felt as if I was experiencing everything she was experiencing, and I could not help but admire her faith in God. She reminded me how good God is, and how he can do the impossible if we just trust him. Brief, lovely read
This memoir managed to be both incredibly sad and yet positive and life-affirming at the same time.Abigail Thomas describes the journey she must take in the years after her husband's accident and how she manages to progress from inner turmoil (and at times, the inability to function at all), to a place where she is at peace with her life.Though her husband must remain at a hospital for brain-injured patients, she is able to bring him home for visits and spends time with him at the center. The comments and thoughts from his head are so fascinating...I found myself eagerly waiting to see what he would say the next time.Just wondering about the brain and all that we don't know about it is truly amazing to me.Sometimes he makes pronouncements that appear so profound, and other times he seems in total confusion, and while it's incredibly heartbreaking, it's also mesmerizing to read their conversations together.
A voice to be heard
I discovered A Three Dog Life through an article in the New York Times this summer. An excerpt from Abigail Thomas's book appeared in the column, Modern Love. She titled it: "My Husband Survived, the Man I Married Didn't." That is the crux of her book. And with this title, she got me. I, too, have a husband who survived a traumatic brain injury (stroke), and the man I married did not fully survive either.

First,
An incredibly important work.
I first learned of this book while listening to an audiobook by Wayne W. Dyer. While reading it, I realized it was one of the most important books I would ever be exposed to. The author goes into such amazing detail. This is a must-read for anyone wanting to improve not only their own life but humanity as well. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book and any other book written by Dr. David R. Hawkins.

Too Wordy
This book was a little TOO wordy for my taste. I am sure to ALL the FANS of the Hick's absolutely love it, however I did not. That's just my opinion. I am off to the next book. I prefer something that is straight to the point and lewss fluff, if you will.

The Amazing Power of Drivel
As a university professor of human resource development and an Anglican brother, The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent is pure drivel and has no redeeming value whatsoever. If you enjoy new-age fantasy, get a copy from your local library otherwise do not waste your money. If you are serious about spiritual growth you might read works such as The Rule of Benedict: Insights for the Ages, or the best selling book on spiritual development of all time.. it's called the Bible.

Another wonderful resource

Marriage Lifeline
My husband and I were days away from divorce.We were each given a copy of this book the night before our court appearance by a dear friend. He could see how much pain both of us were in and wanted desperately to help us.He had already attended The Arbinger Institutes training and had read all of their books; most recently, this book.He knew how powerful its message is to the right heart.
A Way Through and a Way Out
Skimming through the more than three dozen testimonials at the front of *The Anatomy of Peace* before going on to read it, I was certain that all the endorsers were guilty of overstatement. Now I can say that no praise is high enough. By reflecting the painful truth about my own "heart at war" that I was blind to, it completely changed how I perceive the ingredients that produce conflict in my own life.

I attracted this book
I felt, intuitively, that I should pick up this book. I am glad I did. It helped me see what I am doing and feeling and shouldn't be doing and feeling, and what I am not doing and feeling but should be! The personal stories were very effective for me. The value of the information exceeds my expectations, and met a timely, personal need. Keep it up, Joe!

A mix of maxims in a manual for living
Joe Vitale's life manual is packed with his highly personal brand of new-age wizardry and inscrutable passages from other modern day self-help philosophers. With aphorisms, maxims and fables on ideas and subjects ranging from sex, food and forgiveness to personal finance, taxes, purpose in life and how to handle death, he proffers a broad, mixed bag of advice - some he wrote and some he anthologizes - with a touch of humor and a dash of preachiness. Rather than presenting a singular world view or moral system, Vitale combs popular self-help best sellers, consults some sweeping religious concepts, and synthesizes their teachings with his own insight. Wisdom and Warmth
As I read Jason Shulman's seed passages and reflections I felt the warmth of a very wise and caring father whose great joy it is to help his children understand their suffering and point them to a path of freedom.
Who knew?
Who knew that God seeks me?Who knew that humanity is Divine?This book makes me want to be human because it illuminates humanity and begs me to be exactly who I am, what I am, and where I am.It doesn't tell me how to rise above it.It's truly an instruction manual for loving myself, and in that process, I receive God.

I have not even finished reading this book yet, and already, I am feeling a lot less pain.I am a 27-year-old woman.I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, abdominal wall pain, and irritable bowel syndrome.I have been through physical therapy, special diets, and a chronic pain clinic, not to mention a boatload of painkillers. Do not simply disregard the theories because they are radically different from other approaches and ideas behind chronic pain used by practioneers the world over.If you are open-minded enough to just embrace the idea and remain persistent, you will be pleasantly surprised!The fact is had I RSI FOR two years, but before ever reading sarno the following things did not make sense to me:
Sceptic Turned Believer
I am a writer/editor who endured seven years of carpel tunnel-like symptoms: tingling, pain, weakness, and numbness from both wrists all the way up to my neck. I underwent every possible treatment, mainstream and alternative, but nothing worked. One day, someone who had similar pain told me how she was cured by this book. I didn't believe her, but I was desperate: at the time I was taking the highest dosage of my painkillers, and had just quit my job because the pain was crippling. After two months of reading Dr. Sarno's book nonstop and learning how the pain was psychosomatic--which has a bad rap for being fake; it's real pain that is initiated from the brain--I was off of my meds and almost pain-free. Title is Misleading
As a student of psychoanalysis there is very little in this CD that relates to the subconscious or unconscious mind and it's affects on the body. The problem is that this CD has been mistitled.Perhaps if it had been a more honest title I would not have been so disappointed.
nothing new to me, and some info. was not particularly true
I love the movie, "what the bleep do we know" therefore I bought these CD's thinking they would be almost as good; as she is one of the scientist on the movie.Alot of it is true, but at one point she talked about sickness in CD #1 which is not, in my opinion true.

Holistic Health
We need a new science, one that not just cares for the body or to the mind but to the two together, as inseparable parts of the person. The lack of information about emotional stress and the body means that medication is often prescribed in lieu of other treatments. Children and adults are given major medications for an array of syndromes and their symptoms such as chest pain, back aches, neck pain, weakness in limbs and upset stomachs, which can often be successfully treated without medication, particularly with early intervention.

Excellent and Effective Instruction in Reiki Healing Practices
I have read all three of Steve Murray's books on Reiki, Reiki The Ultimate Guide, Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and Vol. 3, and hope to purchase his latest book on false beliefs as soon as it is available.The books are a clear and straightforward instruction in Reiki, Reiki practice specifics like grounding, protection, intention, preparation for both healing practitioner and recipient, and ethical considerations.Although I have previously been given Reiki attunement, I chose to purchase the 1st Level, 2nd Level, and Master Level Attunement DVDs and experience them from Steve Murray.The attunements were exceptional and I have every confidence that I am completely aligned with the wonderful universal life energy of Reiki both for my own personal benefit and to offer in service to others.Additionally, I have purchased both the Psychic Attunement and Healing Attunement DVDs and would highly recommend these to practitioners, students, and anyone interest in Reiki.

This book tells what other Reiki books don't
The first line of this book, which says "I believe at this very moment as you read this, our vibrations and energies are connected in the now". As soon as I read this I felt I am connected to Steve. I felt connected to his vibrations all throughout this book. I did finish the book in only a few hours. This book tells what other Reiki books don't. This is a must read for all the people who want to find the secrets which are generally hidden by reiki masters. It tells in detail, about all the attunement process, step by step with pictures. All the symbols are there with pictures and how to activate them. Some people feel that that the symbols should not be displayed like this. I disagree completely, I know that the symbols are sacred and should be treated with respect but I don't see a reason that why they should be hidden. And without attunement these symbols are just drawings, they cant be activated. Steve has also written about his experiences and the different things he does while giving treatments. This information isvery valuable. This book does not contain any history of reiki or any other political views about reiki. All it contains is Reiki. There is also a chapter about how to contact the departed ones and the angels. This is a very informative chapter and it can help many people who want to contact their loved ones who crossed over suddenly or need any guidance from them for their higher good.
Get this book!
Steve Murray's commitment to making Reiki training easily available to everyone is a blessing! I have copies of several of his books, including this one, as well as the Reiki Master Attunement DVD. Having experience as a Level 2 Reiki practitioner prior to obtaining Steve's material, I was amazed to find much of what I struggled with and wondered about, explained in his easy to understand books with great photos! I already had other Reiki books, but Steve's are much more helpful. Don't let any critics tell you that Steve can't teach Reiki through books and DVDs. Energy has no limits. Upon completing my Reiki Master Attunement with his DVD, my abilities to use Reiki for healing, channeling and psychic connections were greatly enhanced within just a few days. Cure HIV/Aids with diet, exercise and castor oil packs?
While I have an excellent understanding of the metaphysical philosopy, the idea that one can diagnose and cure disease such as HIV and Aids with diet, castor oil packs and the like, is absurd. As a registered nurse, my first and only encounter with this author, leaves me unsure, other than book sales, why she would make this claim.
Misses the mark and with leaps in logic to hasty conclusions
I have to preface this review by saying that I am not a Caroline Myss fan.This is not based upon my past religious upbringing, but rather on her approach to an attempted synthesis between the Jewish, Christian and Hindu teachings on metaphysics and energy systems.In short, I think she missed the mark and tried to force fit areas together based more on her assumptions about reality than a natural meshing together of concepts.
mixed feelings
for most of my life, I have felt that a connection exists between our psychological and emotional experiences and the illnesses we develop, that in many ways our illnesses represent a metaphor for the emotional and spiritual crises that we go through.over the course of the last few years I have been exploring different forms of spirituality and healing practices that integrate spirituality with an understanding of the body.in a lot of places I would read references to the idea I described above, of illness as a manifestation of spiritual crises, but no one ever really seemed to go in to the subject at great length.so I was excited when I found Myss's book, as it seemed to delve deeply into this subject, and also explored the relationship between healing and mysticism.

A Moving and Illuminating Look the Powers of the Heart and Mind
My spiritual journey began in 1996 and during that time I have read a great many spiritual books and attended workshops which have helped me to work through issues, some more than others. I have experienced times of gradual changes as well as moments that have propelled me to new levels. Reading Inspiration caused the latter of the two. Plagued with a closed heart in a particular area of my life was causing great anxiety and disorder but while reading Inspiration love and peace began to radiate throughout my entire being and the turmoil within myself shifted and melted away.

this guy is very entertaining. AND he made me cry. hehehe. i think he is a great storyteller. he will captivate you! check it out for yourself.

If you need some help to refocus on what is important then this will help.
I must admit that I have not read much of Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, so this is my actual first exposure to his perceptions.After reading the reviews before me I can understand what those people were getting stressed from in his way of translating the information.

this book is ok i didnt find it very interesting for a mature mind it lacks inthusiasm for the reader although informative.

Easy to read; good suggestions for change. Good resource book for therapists/counselors working with clients having anxiety disorders and/or depression.

Little Book, Powerful Words
I have given away several copies of this book and reference it in my presentations and small retreats.Similar to another reviewer with a charismatic background, I was surprised that I now recommend this book!However, in my case I found the ideas in this book (but not necessarily in all her books) to be very consistent with faith, positive confessions and words that "create."We have a God-given creative ability that can be blocked by what is in our unconscious.Our unidentified/unaddressed negative thoughts or emotions (hurt, anger, bitterness) counteract everything positive that we read/believe in our conscious mind.When you address those things, all of you is on the same page, and it's very powerful!

Hidden Msg review

A change of perspective...

Wisdom insights
I found this book to be very helpful to me in tying together my core "yearnings" to the insights to a wisdom tradition that Irwin Kula makes alive and relevant. There is no claim to a "right" or "wrong" - rather it is how to tap into centuries-old teachings to make some sense of this crazy human experience. Almost everyone can relate to the stories that are told. There is truly something for everyone here.

Life is easier when you appreciate its complications
Irwin Kula takes us past our longing that a single truth applied everywhere will give us fulfillment.Instead he shows that in every problem is an opportunity--that what initially seems confusing and complicated doesn't need to be feared but appreciated.As I read his book, I felt optomistic without feeling naive or simplistic.

Tripe in a nice wrapper
This book demonstrates what happens when "C" students pretend to know material that only "A" students understand. By juxtapositioning snippets of observations from intellectuals, and adding some self-congatulatory personal insight, the "authors" have compiled a useless, meandering mishmash of jabberwocky. The answer to the book's title question (judging by its contents) is "Not Much!" Do not waste your time or money, or contribute to the death of innocent trees, by buying this book.
Great Book for Bleepers
If you liked the video, you'll love the book. It expands on each topic discussed in th video. I just got the new "What the Bleep; Down the Rabbit Hole extended version" video and noticed that some of the new video material are the same interviews printed in the book.

Quantum Physics for Dummies
This is a case of the movie being a LOT better than the book.The reason is that the tone and the conversational style of the book are so "cutsey," so patronizing, so ... tiresome; it reminds me of one of the Dummies books.The writers ask so many questions:"So what exactly are emotions?Heard of endorphins? Sound familiar?When was the last time you had an orgasm from a higher level?"I'm really into the subject matter and I'm 3/4 of the way through the book, but I don't think I can finish it, just because the bad writing (not the quantum physics) makes it so hard to read.I wish the authors had just said what they had to say without studying the Dummies format beforehand.If someone picks up a book about the relationship between spirituality and quantum physics, they have to have had some intelligence and some prior reading in both subjects.These authors don't recognize that.Fritjof Capra it's not. ...
