Editorial Review

Thich Nhat Hanh's writing is deceptive in its subtlety. He'll go on and on with stories about tree-hugging or metaphors involving raw potatoes; he'll tell you how to eat mindfully, even how to breathe and walk; he'll suggest looking closely at a flower and to see the sun as your heart. As the Zen teacher Richard Baker commented, however, Nhat Hanh is "a cross between a cloud, a snail, and piece of heavy machinery." Sooner or later, it begins to sink in that Nhat Hanh is conveying a depth of psychology and a world outlook that require nothing less than a complete paradigm shift. Through his cute stories and compassionate admonitions, he gradually builds up to his philosophy of interbeing, the notion that none of us Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth Many Hours Of Psychotherapy
In this book, Thich Nhat Hanh goes beyond the differences between Eastern and Western philosophies and guides the reader in a very pragmatic manner towards creating peace.Interpersonal peace, peace in the family and community, world peace, and most importantly, peace within oneself. His words reflect an ancient wisdom which is simple yet so profoundly insightful. In my opinion, his approach to solving emotional suffering and curtailing society's ills dwarfs many theories of modern behavioral and social sciences. This is a work to be read and reread. I also recommendThich Nhat Hanh's "The Miracle of Mindfulness" as a complement to this work.
5-0 out of 5 stars Forgiveness
From a Vietnamese Monk who has witnessed the transgressions and casulties of war, to forgive and teach the very enemy he tried to enlighten about the war-- I am amazed. He lives the life he teaches- non aggresion, peace, present moments. In his teaching I see him forgive and move on with the task of spreading his word to the world and anyone who will listen.I have become a reader of many of his books and feel like it is a friend talking to me.You can be a drop of water, a wave, but you can also be in the ocean.Thank you Thich Nhat Hanh...

5-0 out of 5 stars My very favorite book of all time.
Thich Nhat Hanh is my very favorite author and,"Peace Is Every Step" is my very favorite book. Reading him you really get the feeling that a close and caring friend is talking to you. Also, I very much connect with his philosophy of interbeing. His poem, "Please Call Me By My True Names" is easily worth the price of this book in my opinion. There's just so much. When you are finished with this book, you should fully understand the concept of interbeing, and find yourself truly loving everyone and every thing! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent and Effective Instruction in Reiki Healing Practices
I have read all three of Steve Murray's books on Reiki, Reiki The Ultimate Guide, Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and Vol. 3, and hope to purchase his latest book on false beliefs as soon as it is available. The books are a clear and straightforward instruction in Reiki, Reiki practice specifics like grounding, protection, intention, preparation for both healing practitioner and recipient, and ethical considerations.Although I have previously been given Reiki attunement, I chose to purchase the 1st Level, 2nd Level, and Master Level Attunement DVDs and experience them from Steve Murray. The attunements were exceptional and I have every confidence that I am completely aligned with the wonderful universal life energy of Reiki both for my own personal benefit and to offer in service to others.Additionally, I have purchased both the Psychic Attunement and Healing Attunement DVDs and would highly recommend these to practitioners, students, and anyone interest in Reiki.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book tells what other Reiki books don't
The first line of this book, which says "I believe at this very moment as you read this, our vibrations and energies are connected in the now". As soon as I read this I felt I am connected to Steve. I felt connected to his vibrations all throughout this book. I did finish the book in only a few hours. This book tells what other Reiki books don't. This is a must read for all the people who want to find the secrets which are generally hidden by reiki masters. It tells in detail, about all the attunement process, step by step with pictures. All the symbols are there with pictures and how to activate them. Some people feel that that the symbols should not be displayed like this. I disagree completely, I know that the symbols are sacred and should be treated with respect but I don't see a reason that why they should be hidden. And without attunement these symbols are just drawings, they cant be activated. Steve has also written about his experiences and the different things he does while giving treatments. This information isvery valuable. This book does not contain any history of reiki or any other political views about reiki. All it contains is Reiki. There is also a chapter about how to contact the departed ones and the angels. This is a very informative chapter and it can help many people who want to contact their loved ones who crossed over suddenly or need any guidance from them for their higher good.
5-0 out of 5 stars Get this book!
Steve Murray's commitment to making Reiki training easily available to everyone is a blessing! I have copies of several of his books, including this one, as well as the Reiki Master Attunement DVD. Having experience as a Level 2 Reiki practitioner prior to obtaining Steve's material, I was amazed to find much of what I struggled with and wondered about, explained in his easy to understand books with great photos! I already had other Reiki books, but Steve's are much more helpful. Don't let any critics tell you that Steve can't teach Reiki through books and DVDs. Energy has no limits. Upon completing my Reiki Master Attunement with his DVD, my abilities to use Reiki for healing, channeling and psychic connections were greatly enhanced within just a few days. Steve's books are great- down to earth and easy to understand. If you want to learn about Reiki, start with Steve Murray! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Knowledge is Power , a MUST READ!
Alot of folks love to criticize Bill Cooper. I personally think he was reporting truths from his experiences & information he got his hands on.He claims right up front that some info may not be accurate. He NEVER claims to be 100% accurate, and gives you his sources for the info, not just opinions. He took a stand to expose secret information he felt the public should know.Whether you agree with him or not, you've got to respect the man. He fought to get this book published & ultimately lost his life holding on to that "stand".It's risk-takers like him that gives us knowledge & information to see hidden truths.Thank you & God Bless you, Bill.Rest in Peace.

5-0 out of 5 stars your headed in the right direction...
This book is not for those who wish to continue living their monotonous and stressful lifestyles. This is meant to make you aware and to further draw your own conclusions.Critical thinkers only!!
3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting read! But don't rely on Google to discount this author!
I just want to say that this book allows you to draw your OWN conclusions from information a man was able to provide andbecause of that..i find this book interesting and a good read.As for his death, all deaths that look suspicious are NEVER suspicious. As for going on Google to find out about the "real" Cooper; let it be said that you need to do alot more research on someone than going to Google to take something as FACT! Google is NOT the most reliable source, it is simply what it is; A SOURCE OF INFORMATION. The book is worth the read. Especially the part of the book that speaks about FEMA; any one heard of LA riots, Katrina? He speaks on FEMA's role very candidly and we can use both these instances as to how true he was in this area of his book. But don't base your knowledge or interest on any of our reviews...read the book for yourself and make your own conclusion of an interesting read, ENJOY! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Compendium of A Wide Variety of Spells
This book almost vibrates with the amazing collection of spells and magic it contains. It is an ultimate reference indeed, drawing from all cultures and magical systems possible to include several options for each catagory of spell. The way it is organized only adds to its usefullness- it is catagorized alphabetically, and makes for and easy flip to whatever type of assitance you feel you need in your workings. With a bonus introduction section that covers spellwork basics, to the formulary in the back describing the concoction of various classic brews, this book is a must-have for any active magical practitioner.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Bible That Actually Makes Sense.
Even before I bought The Satanic Bible I've always favored the Satanic religion the most because it makes the most sense, instead of denying you of your natural needs, it embraces them. It doesn't discriminate again anyone whether you're white, black, asian, European, gay, straight, bisexual or whatever, it'll except you no matter what. The Bible was a big help to answer a few questions I had about the religion and I'm not even half way through it yet and it's gotten me to respect the religion a lot more then I already did. If you only think Satanism is whatever the christians cowardly discribe it to be or if you're just plain courious then you should buy it and read it. If you don't like it after you try it then you don't have to keep it so it won't hurt anyone. There's a million things in the first few chapters that makes it a great bible that actually makes sense.

5-0 out of 5 stars Master Bardon.....Thanks !!!
Without any doubt, the mental training exercises found inside this great book are the best....period ! This is a must to anyone who aspire to harness the real power behind its own mind.
5-0 out of 5 stars A true philosophical and magical guide.
There are a number of ways of reading this book. Philosophically, magically and on a practical level. Having bought it in 1979 I had to wait for the internet to be able to discuss the various aspects of this book with other people who have read it particularly since some aspects of it are not easy for the neophyte and one could not find Bardon readers round the corner. I started my own discussion group and a few months later a real professional group was set up so I dropped mine.Discussion groups also offered the opportunity to clarify some of its more obscure points while as it encouraged those who were more advanced along the path to write books on the matters discussed in the IIH in order to explain teh more obscure areas and adress readers questions. Thus the involvement in IIH can be total for the seeker. One progresses along the path of magic at one's own pace finding light along the way.

A kind and gentle soul, I think it was not very sporting of god to send FB against the 99 lodge! Everyone is concentrating on how difficult this book is, but the moment you start you are changing, it's working already.. a bit of faith? it is not hard and not easy, but requires persistence. you'll get it. And boy will you be surprised! delighted, happy. esp. dont think about how much there is to do, like a drip wearing away a stone keep going without constantly looking for results.. go to a genuine tarot reader when you despair, thats what they were sent for. the secret is the journey, not the destination. hugh spiritual growth will begin within two months, in a subtle way. blessed with luck, your power gently increases, allowing you to be reborn without all the crap you thought you were. and every thing goes your way, a thrill! its worth it, but you already know that. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Best News Yet or a Hoax?
This book is either the best news you've ever heard or it's total B.S.The authors' premise is that many people have been contacted by deceased loved-ones through various means; for instance, by visions of them, by hearing their voices, while the experiencers are awake, while asleep, etc.But the subjects have been reluctant to speak about them for fear of being deemed crazy.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great book!
I have read several books on Near Death Experiences, and I came across this book while reading "Lessons From The Light."This is an excellent book.It is filled with so many great accounts of After Death Communications. If you have ever been interested in ADCs, then you need to read this....it will really make you stop and think. It helps you to realize that some things aren't simply "dreams" but actual ADCs!!I have had one, and it made me excited to learn that so many others have had the same experience.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hidden Msg review
Can water tell us something about ourselves? Given the human body is seventy (70) percent water; is it possible that how water is affected by the environment is in direct relation to how we are affected? In his book, The Hidden Messages in Water, Masaru Emoto explores the crystalline structure of frozen water that has been exposed to various environmental factors while pondering this possibility. Emoto has taken thousands of beautiful photographs under microscopes from water sources all over the world. He believes that the varying types of crystals, or lack of, hold a message about our own health and more. He shares many of his best photos throughout the book as an important visual aid in making his case. 5-0 out of 5 stars An essential perspective on our everyday activities
This book is extremely accessible to anyone open to new ideas. The insights and questions brought up in this compact book inspired my artwork in so many ways, I can't even begin. The book is much more than pictures of water crystals, (which is worth the price alone) it is a simple, yet highly complex philosophy about our existence on Earth. Buy it, read it, love it......

5-0 out of 5 stars A change of perspective...
Dr. Emoto's book challenges more than just perception with his thought-provoking journey into the hidden messages of water. His studies over the past decades have indeed upturned even one of the most widely accepted of notions in our world: that we are unable to control elements outside of ourselves and our immediate environments. Through simple language that is readily understood even by those of us who are non-science-minded, the book gently explains that the findings of Dr. Emoto have been ground-breaking in understanding the impact of our thoughts on the world around us. He clearly explains that the affirmations of a positive attitude are as impacting upon our evironments as actions. Emotions like love and gratitude are shown to be creative forces in this universe. Likewise, the impact of negative thoughts and emotions can be shown to destroy. With an open mind, Dr. Emoto's studies could change your world, as well. ... Read more

Even in Geography this author is confused. About Fatima - that is NOT in Spain, but in Portugal ! - the author it is no better, as almost foreigner authors that attempt to wirte on something that is far away of them, for instance the original and official records about the complexe serial of events in 1917. But since Fatima Apparitions are a icon to millions of people, so the authors each of them try to put a little gasoline in the fire or pepper in the meat ! Of course anyone can invent what they want, since he not claims to be any astounding secret delivered by "uncovered source" that is reael but unfortunally for the Histry is not able to be identified.

Editorial Review

After years of spiritual study and reflection, inspirational speaker and bestselling author Wayne Dyer has emerged a highly esteemed teacher. His current message about tapping into the power of intention may sound like good old positive thinking: just stay focused on what you want, rather than focusing on the lack of having what you want. But the teaching here goes deeper than just controlling thoughts (although he does acknowledge that thought control is a surprisingly challenging and significant endeavor). This book might help readers land a better job, but it's more relevant for those who are ready to detach from an ego-driven life filled with quick fixes of happiness and step into a more authentic, joyful, and spiritually fulfilling life. His core teachings speak to tapping into a universal source of energy that can also be called the "power of intention." He calls people who are consciously co-creating with this energy source "connectors" and describes them as "individuals who have made themselves available for success...They don't say Read more

"Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge..."
5-0 out of 5 stars Solid, attainable advice for those who want to live their purpose
In his book The Power of Intention, Dr. Wayne Dyer's main point seems to be that your life is co-created by you and "Intention" (which is his word for God or the Source of all power).
5-0 out of 5 stars More outstanding work from Dyer
Been a Wayne Dyer fan for some years so of course I would like his latest work. What has most impressed me about it is the impact it has had on my thrity two year old son. He recently went through a divorce and had been struggling with some other problems and some how this hit him dead center. He quit drinking, quit smoking and meditates as well as running again. The proof is in the results and I am impressed the impact it has had on him. I loved the book and feel like this one is a step up in a good way from his other work. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent - practise discernment
I'm reading this and Vol II for I think about the 4th or 5th time in about 5 or 6 years. Every read feels like a new gift; I get more out of it each time I look at it. Just over 6 months ago (end of March 2006) I finally was able to take the Flower of Life workshop with a facilitator sanctioned by Drunvalo. My merkaba has been up and running ever since, and I am no longer the same person I was before the FOL workshop. I have changed profoundly in ways that I am unable to articulate. But I have to say, if this work doesn't resonate with you, doesn't feel right, let it go. It's not for everyone. Look for something else that gets your juices flowing, or don't. It doesn't matter. If this work peaks your interest, read both volumes, and if you are still stoked about it, set the intention to attend a workshop and watch your life change dramatically. If you are ready for the work, the work will change you in ways that are indescribable. Once you begin to wake up, to see the light, there is no going back. It's not always easy, but it is a great ride and worth the ticket price. Have fun. Peace.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not for left brain thinkers
Clearly, Drunvalo could care less if any particular person believes what he writes or not. In fact, he says as much early on in the book. Which, I assume, is why he did not bother with footnotes or references. Personally, I doubt that references could be provided for much of what he says, even if it is true. Such things are only talked about via word of mouth and with agreement of anonymity.
3-0 out of 5 stars Promises,promises
This book is tightly written in its first chapters, and holds the reader's attention because it promises to share new information ,but instead it falls into a long expose of geometry without any reason or explanation.Still Drunvalo is fun to read as he presents other people's ideas as his own,yet with a hint of trying to make sense out of it.Alot of the book might be considered as a huge sales presentation, where the author is trying to sell the reader on the author's special ability or wisdom. In this he only succeeds in presenting himself as a modern Elmer Gantry dressed up as a disgruntled physics student.Perhaps no one knows the answers to the"real questions",perhaps no one ever has. There seems to be no shortage of entrepreneurs writing these type of books, however. ... Read more

If you're looking at this item, you must have some idea of what Tolle's amazing worldview is all about. If not, read the many raves under his book The Power Of Now.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Deck Is Stacked In Your Favor
I bought these cards on a whim because I'm not a big fan of "card decks". I know that a lot of people use these decks to meditate upon or get a glimpse of what their soul might be telling them, but I have always preferred to just sit as quietly as I could and see what bubbled up from within. If for some reason the "inner chatter" was too loud and I couldn't get still, I'd close my eyes and pick a book from my library and once I had the book in my hand, and with eyes still closed,I would open the book to any page and after I selected my page, I'd open my eyes and read the first thing my eyes fell upon. I noticed that I always read exactly what I needed to hear...maybe I always do...maybe most of the time I am just plain stubborn and I think I know more than my soul. As one of my mentor's might say, "Your arrogance is your ignorance and your ignorance is your arrogance...."
5-0 out of 5 stars A great addition to those working with the LOA
I'm going to keep this review brief, but as these cards only had one other review I felt compelled to let everyone know about what a wonderful and beautiful set this is.The artwork is soft, warm, and inviting, and the messages are powerful reminders for staying on the path and believing in your outcome.I have many other decks that I have used as part of my daily meditations, but this has immediately become by far my favorite.I believe this deck would be of great benefit to anyone wishing to improve their frame of mind and lives, not just those following the Abraham-Hicks teachings.I am very grateful to have this deck and highly recommend it.

"You will experience an enhancing of your personal power, which may, at first, seem illogical or even magical, as the Energy Stream from which these cards have come dovetails with the true essence of your own being. As you return for frequent visits to these beautiful cards, you will begin to notice a definite closing of the gap between where you are and where you want to be on all subjects that are important to you." - From the authors

5-0 out of 5 stars Great way to pass the time while driving
Very inspirational and easy to follow. Full of great wisdom that makes sense!

5-0 out of 5 stars It "clicked" for me!
I've been listening to these CD recordings for three weeks now, going over and over this magnificently empowering message from Abraham and delivered through Esther & Jerry Hicks. I was so impressed with their first book -Ask and It is Given- that I just had to listen/read this one as well. For me, I've found that the message is better felt and understood when it reaches inside through hearing and sight simultaneously, let's say in a sort of "stereo" kind of way, so I read the book and listen the CDs at the same time. For anyone who has been looking for a sensible, charismatic, loving and understanable perspective of self, purpose and access to Joy, try this (read, listen or both), there will be no regrets. My own ability to "listen" (as opposed to hear) is limited by -point of view-, that is, it's filtered through belief; only something more powerful than that belief can shake and crumble it allowing acceptance of another that will further growth, understanding and joy. That is the power of this book and that IS what I want and NOW and more than ever before BELIEVE I can have.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not for me
This audio book would be much better read than listened to. There are certain areas that you will not be interested in, and some areas you'll want to read over and over again. ... Read more

I've read many of her books in the past year. For me they are always uplifting and encouraging.I would have to say that this particular one was by far my favorite.
5-0 out of 5 stars The best book
I love this book. I think this is the best book. This book is based on real life experiences. Every tenet is vital and has sense. I can reread this book a lot of times and find something new and valuable for myself. After reading this book I get very curious about biography of Sylvia's grandmother. I think it will be very interesting to know about her life, her responses to difficult situations. Thank you Sylvia for this wonderful book.
