5-0 out of 5 stars Born In William Wallace's Blood
If you enjoyed the movie Braveheart (the 1997 film epic based on the life of Sir. William Wallace, perhaps Scotland's greatest hero and most significant historical figure) you'll enjoy the first part of this book. William Wallace and Scotland's 13th century Peasant's Rebellion is the stuff of great legend, and John J. Robinson's Born in Blood (as well as Braveheart)immortalizes the legend and the man.
5-0 out of 5 stars A fascinating book
This is a fascinating and well researched book - not only on the subject of the Freemasons, but also on the evolution of government from the feudal system into modern democracy. Author John J. Robinson (a non-mason), provides an un-biased history of the Freemasons and those who have sought to oppress or slander them throughout the centuries.

4-0 out of 5 stars Second part is better
The book is a bit of a tough read during the first half, which discusses the Knights Templar.Great info, but a challenge to read without wanting to skip a page or two every now and then. The second half regarding the Freemansons is very interesting and eye opening.I would by the book alone for the Fremason section. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Both Structure of Magic Books are powerful but: masterpieces, but...
Structure 1 is well written, clear and concise, but Structure 2 is subtle and intense like a slow moving train that gets fast and fun at the pace you like. Both are informative books, don't get me wrong. But Structure 2 shows that communication and movement within communication is thwe basis of life. Whether its commuincating to your muscles to walk or do whatever, talk to another person, whatever requires communication at any level. In fact these books, I'll say are the spirit-voice of what it takes to live efffectively or the beginnings thereof of understanding that. Structure 1 tells you the map is not the territory, structure 2 tells you how to use the territory with the directions if you have the basic understanding given in 1 of what maps and territories are really for. The questions are asked in 1, the queastions are answered in 2. Anyhow, as Arthur C. Clarke said, technology only seems magical, when you haven't developed up to its level yet. That's what it all comes down to, development and The Structure of Magic Books show that. Step by step, understanding by understanding until you can put it together yourself in its proper order within the territory, and not just on a "silly" map. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. more than that, that's my understanding and I'm growing past it to understand and undertake ever more and ever better. Hats off to Bandler and Grinder and all of their associates, I'm not saying they're the end or the beginnings, but they are an important part of that grand puzzle being solved called "existence and life". But eah person must put it all together for themselves, that's what The Map is Not The Territory means, I know. All right, happy reading if you buy em'!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for yourself and/or as a gift!!
This book is well researched (including Western science and Eastern traditions), full of excellent advice and written in easy to read, enjoyable snippets, not to mention that each page is designed with artwork and a nice visual layout. Despite what another reviewer wrote, this book has plenty of info that you probably have never heard before on topics ranging from diet and nutrition, chinese and western herbal medicines, the environment, ecology and community, exercise, lifestyle and rejuvenation, genetics, relationships, love, sexuality and faith, and the last chapter brings it all together. 1-0 out of 5 stars Secrets of Longevity
There is a lot of good advice in this book. Well written and very understandable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and well researched book.
Based on 30 years of research, Tarnas shows the connection between planetary movements and human events.A respected scholar and cultural historian, Tarnas presents a cohesive thesis for the validity of astrology. We in the astrological community are greatful to Tarnas for presenting arguments that would never be listened to if they had been presented by an astrologer.

2-0 out of 5 stars Deeply Flawed
This book is deeply flawed. It foundational premise is utter nonsense. Tarnas has used his vast understanding of the humanties and history and attempted to correlate trends, themes, biographies and events to the movement of planets.
5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
This is a fascinating book.To begin, it is extremely well written and a joy to read.Tarnas exposes the limitations of the mechanistic world view that has dominated modern science until recent times with the advent of quantum physics and relativity. His understanding of Western intellectual history is profound. For astrologers there is little new in this book but for non-astrologers his research is eye-opening.I found the beginning chapters to be the most interesting with their discussion of the modern idea of self.Having studied astrology for over 40 years and having been trained in psychiatry and Freudian psychoanalysis, I finally feel understood by a reputable member of academia. For example I have lectured about the conjunction of Schopenhauer's natal sun with Saturn, only to received befudlled looks from my audience.I was delighted that Tarnas uses this same example to illustrate a point in his text.My only reservation is that the author presents his material as if he has personally freshly discovered correlations between celestial phenomena and mundane events, which astrologers had already written about for centuries. He does not credit his astrological sources in a way that one would expect of a research scholar. It appears that he has not studied the rich intellectual traditions of astrology in the same meticulous way that he pursued Western philosphy, religioin, and science.Nonetheless, I highly recommend this book and would give it 6 stars if I could because it rightfully places astrology at the center of the Western intellectual tradition. ... I thought Dr. Greer did a good job of organizing the various types of evidence supporting Alien interaction with our world. From scientists to engineers and really a complete cross section of our society and its abilities to observe the hidden world of Alien interaction.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Truth Is Right Here With Dr. Greer
I have been searching for the real truth about UFO and ET since my childhood (1970~), so far what I found was a mess and confusion; bad ET, good ET, alien invasion, abduction, mutilation, science fiction movies, etc... you know the rest.1-0 out of 5 stars This isn't even good science fiction
Occasionally, I like to get off the beaten path of my usual scientific reading and see what is happening in the arena of UFO research, which I believe is a phenomenon that is still open to question.I had understood that Steven Greer was at the forefront of this reasearch, so I was eager to pick up a copy of his book.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Pronoia Pleasure
Wonderful, eclectic book...filled with nuggets of wisdom, sassy observations, truth-seeking insights.New.Unusual.Not for the scaredy-cats of philosophy, religion or politics. The sort of book that lends well to thumbing through at leisure, or flipping through backwards. Or upside down, or inside out. A great book to find refuge in when the prison-camps of corporate life and stultified living are overwhelming.I plan to give copies to everyone I know and to quote some of the more outrageous thoughts in the faces of my dreariest, most conservative acquainances.Loved the book.Recommend it highly.

4-0 out of 5 stars Thoughts Have Consequences
I have used these cards for about six months now in all sorts of situations. I find the repetitiveness useful. Marketing studies will tell you that people need to hear a message about 23 times before it becomes 'embedded' in their thought processes and they actually act on it. We are bombarded with all kinds of affirmations positive and negative, so many in fact that we can't even begin to count them. Here is a very easy way to set the tone for the day or a conversation or a project, to broach a difficult discussion or to prompt a written inspirational essay. What is true is that on a particularly hectic day you'll find yourself repeating a power thought that has maintained a particular appeal for you, and you will find yourself breathing more easily and getting through what may be a very difficult moment. I've bought two sets, one to keep and one to give away and I have a feeling this friend will not be the last one I buy them for!
4-0 out of 5 stars ...there's no place like home....there's no place like home...
Like Dorothy, I wish I could just click my heels and say any affirmation on these cards, and somehow it would manifest itself. I am a student of many self-help books and these cards remind me of some of the ones I have read. I'm sure the author of the cards has read and used many of them herself. If, like me, you are also a fan of Tarot Cards, maybe you could use this deck to do a "reading" of sorts, draw some squares on a large sheet of paper, and label each one as an aspect of your daily life....job, relationship, children, parents, friends, inner self, and so on, and then place a card on each square you have and see how the saying on each card relates to it. It might be interesting! DISCLAIMER...If you are some religion which forbids the idea of fortune-telling or divination then don't do this, and don't say I made you do it. Thank You.
5-0 out of 5 stars wonder*full booster of self-awareness
a dear friend of mine had placed power thought cards around her house during a difficult time--i found that when i was under her roof and looking at the affirmations, i was able to stay positive and be more supportive of her.they provided insight as to how she was feeling and what sorts of directions she wanted her thoughts to move into...now i have them around my place for me.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING
I have read several feng shui book and I think this is the best and works too. I started on my prosperity area and in less than 24 hours it started working. I made a month paycheck in two weeks without working too hard.
5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand
This is very easy to understand and very entertaining. I tried the techniques and after I worked on my prosperity corner I received an unexpected but welcome check. There are many types of Feng Shui and many don't acknowledge Black Hat, but for me this is the most reasonable. Most of the other forms are just not feasible in the way we live today. This book is well worth the money.

4-0 out of 5 stars Feng Shui Newby
I really liked this book. I thought it was entertaining as well as educational. It read like a novel while teaching me how to balance my stuff. I really liked the part about affirmation in the back. I believe the affirmations should probably be read before you start moving your stuff around, that way when you place stuff and say your affirmations at the same time, it makes the placement that more meaningful for you and your intentions. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton
This book is a sequel to Journey of Souls , also by Michael Newton. I found both books fascinating reading, answering many questions I hadn't found covered in other books about past-life regression and life after death. I highly recommend these books for anyone interested in this topic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome book! Very Interesting!
I haven't read the Journey of Souls yet.I've purchased it and it'll arrive in the mail pretty soon. After reading Sylvia Brownes book "The Other Side", I had many questions about the validity of these information.Michael Newton actually answers these questions, but he obtains it not from his "so-called" guide, but from real people under hypnosis. From cases to cases, he has written what he believes the other side is like, the structure of the place, what we will go through after we die and what we do between lives. It's a fascinating book to read. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars This is also fuzzy and full of mystical terms.
I bought this book and Astral Dynamic. The beginning of the book is interesting, it is guiding you, but unfortunately the rest of the book is not so orginal or interesting. The style is bland, filled with fuzzy mystical terms, redundancies, and personal experiences that seem a bit contrived. The book is also overly long because of it's attempt to be an explain-all of the OOB phenomenon.
1-0 out of 5 stars It is difficult to read.
Author use lots terminologies of his won, and it is divided into many details and very lengthy, it is difficult to read.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lack of explanations.
No explanation is given as to how forms and entire environments can exist without spatial dimensions, nor why there can be a sequence of events and yet no such thing as time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Critics after life after death...?
I have no way of understanding how someone could not love such a life's work as this one. An artist might have to die to get famous, but what about those who die and come back?
5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT BOOK
I read this book initially several years ago just before my mother passed away.I found it very comforting.I give it to people who are dealing with a death in the family or an illness of their own.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good for Mormons
No doubt most Christians will be entertained by this read.Eadie asserts that all people may not come to know Christ as the savior in this life but that they "must" accept his love in the next. The implications of a continued denial are not addressed (along with many other things she supposedly gained insight toward).I don't necessarily disagree with or discount Ms. Eadie's account, I simply find it to be overtly biased. Her explanation of our ability to reconnect with past lives with the usage of hypnosis is in a word, weak. She explains it as "cell memory."This I've never debated but, she goes on to assert that reincarnation does not exist, which left me wondering just what are we remembering then. She contradicts herself greatly here.

Editorial Review

For almost 20 years Jerry and Esther Hicks have been presenting workshops, producing tapes and writing books to help people create the life they desire. And desire is no small word in this agenda. According to the teachings of "Abraham"--a collective name for the spiritual entities that are channeled through Esther--desire is a good and natural force within us. In fact, we are all here to fulfill our desires, according to Abraham. Yet the reason so much of us feel frustrated, is that we have difficulty knowing how to ask and receive whatever we want to be, do or have.Read more

Loved it. If you actually do what they recommend you will immediately begin feeling better, doesn't matter how bad you feel, you will enjoy results. Then after you feel better, the good stuff starts. Read it, do it, and then be pleasanlty surprised.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not Quite Abraham
I'm afraid I understand the laws of attraction differently than the Hicks, though I know they profess this to be channeled. I'm quite sure many will benefit from this, yet another in the line of channellings, but for me, I'd have to couple this book with some of Chopra's work, and certainly with Gangi's work, whom I consider a true channel of God. Nevertheless, it provides the daily meditations and answers the need of many, so, good job.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Exercises to Support Growing Abundance
I love this book!It is an excellent support system for learning to work with the Law of Attraction.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
This is every bit the mind bender that the blurbs say it is.Wow!

4-0 out of 5 stars Taken in stride with Prometheus Rising
This book brings about few concepts that weren't already brought up in Prometheus Rising. Its a Wilson book, so of course its a mind-bender, but its also a repeat, in my opinion.Wilson seems to like to reiterate his many philosophies and theories throughout all of his book with little more added to the soup in each title. This one, in particular, contains group activities suitable for an open-minded (or close-minded I suppose) eclectic party. The setting in which he writes, to the group, reminds me of the feel of groups that meet in the Methodist Church on Monday nights in the basement. Its stuff anyone can do, anywhere in their life, at any time they choose. In a group, its very reinforcing and explorative and thats why I believe Wilson suggests it so heavily.I believe the material IS relevant, but just a tad bit repetitious from Prometheus Rising and points made in Schrodinger's Cat, etc. This is not a detractor because in a world that uses frequency and label control to catagorize our experiences for us, its not so bad to have someone else giving us these messages with both frequency and good content. Please enjoy irresponsibly.

4-0 out of 5 stars Typical Wilson :-)
This is like Prometheus Rising for a group setting. If you enjoy Wilson's writing then get the book, if you have a bunch of pals who will get together to do the exercises buy the book. I really have no gripe save one my wife has. You need a dictionary handy. He does not dumb down his works and unless you are a wiz with word meanings and history you will be looking stuff up. I like it though. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Sasquatch Book Out There
Over the past couple of years, I've read quite a few books on Sasquatch.Of the newer books, "Raincoast Sasquatch" by J.R. Alley was easily the best...until now.I really don't know anything about Alley and I can't say anything about his motivations, but as I read the many other recent books I kept getting this feeling that "Bigfoot is Big business" to quote Jerry Coleman.Indeed it seems that some current "researchers" compile a list of sightings and then proceed to make incredible postulations about all aspects pertinent to Sasquatch and unfortunatley, some even make sweeping generalizations about known animal behavior which are in fact completely untrue.Up until now, there appeared to be a lack of true scientific investigation on behalf of the research community and in many of the recent books there was a general request from these guys for academia to investigate the Sasquatch phenomenon.Well, thanks to Jeff and the other researchers involved, we have a good scientific book to read and enjoy. This book is by far the best of the rest. It's not chock full of sightings, it's not hinging all bets on "Patty", and it's not pursuing the UFO-Bigfoot theory.Thank God!What you do get is good material from footprint examinations by a specialist in bipedal biomechanics, dermatoglyphics, vocalization analysis, some "Patty" discussion, and some statistical analysis. The latter which I find a little problematic.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science
To list everything that is good about this book would require a recitation of virtually everything in it. This is a great book for anyone curious about, or skeptical of, the sasquatch/bigfoot mystery. It provides a clear, rational, science-based examination of the evidence that stands head and shoulders above many of the other books on the subject, and Jeff Meldrum avoids the proselytizing--both pro and con--that characterizes the work of too many other authors in this field. While it is a companion piece to the DVD of the same name, it goes far deeper in its examination of the mystery than time allowed in the show. Bravo!

5-0 out of 5 stars Science at it's best!
I have a collection of over 200 books related to bigfoot.Dr. Meldrum's "Sasquatch:Legend Meets Science" is the most significant book on the subject I have ever read. Finally putting all we know into one cohesive text, Dr. Meldrum addresses the evidence, hoaxes, theories, concepts, and "myths" related to bigfoot in a professional and scientific manner. Significant in the book is the discussion of the Skookum Cast, Patterson/Gimlin film, footprint evidence, and dermatoglyphics.I highly recommend this book as it will be quoted by the bigfoot community for years to come!

5-0 out of 5 stars Spook Is Superb Science
If Woody Allen were to write a science book, this would be it.Mary Roach utilizes her enormous wit to make her sometimes highly technical investigations fascinating and fun.She admits to being a skeptic, but suspends disbelief as she investigates the supernatural world. She is enormously fair. She readily admits that the skeptics may be right "but they are no fun to go to the graveyard with."So she maintains that spirit of wonder as she exacts the high standard of proof that science demands. If you are looking for validation that ghosts, without a doubt, are watching you sleep, she will not provide that certainty. But she will tell you about the sometimes ingenius ways that spiritualists and paranormal specialists are going about trying to prove it.So her book is somewhat like Lewis Thomas' NOTES OF A BIOLOGY WATCHER in that you get a layman's education on how the soul has been searched for.You get Woody Allen's wit and Carl Sagan's concern for unbiased evidence as you travel through this fascinating culture of afterlife specialists who just may, in the end, be privy to dimensions the rest of us cannot see.

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring - Avoid this Book!
I love ghost stories and stories of the 'beyond' and all that those categories entail. That said, I hate this book.Mary Roach has the authorial voice of a 12 year old.I read the first chapter thinking, 'wow, this book might as well have been edited by a middle school yearbook writer.'There are a plethora of books on the market dealing with this subject matter.Pick any of them.Leave Mary Roach on the bookshelf.
