5-0 out of 5 stars One of The Greatest Books On Esoteric Knowledge Ever Written
I have to honestly say that Hall outdone himself on this one. It is one of the greatest books on esoteric knowledge ever. He speaks openly about the mystery schools, divination, book of Revelation and other spiritual topics. A must have for anyone interested in the esoteric traditions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Work
Brother Manly P Hall has written a brilliant book that covers so much. His knowledge of esoteric philosophy and religion is endless. He was a brilliant man who has contributed so much through his many works. This book is very well written and is vey beautiful. It is a very insightful piece of work that will enlighten all who read it's text. I would encourage all to read this book, it is one of the most important and influential books that I have ever had the honor of reading. I would recommend reading some of Hall's other works and those of Sir Francis Bacon among others.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE encyclopedia of esoteric teachings
The book is amazing in its amount of topics covered, from Gnostic beliefs, the lost city of Atlantis, who really wrote Shakespeare, who were the Rosecrucians, secret meanings of the Zodiac, alchemy, Pythagorean math, mystery schools and much, much, much, more at 56 chapters. For an introduction to every esoteric religion in history, buy this book.I read it from cover to cover and it was enthralling for all 672 pages. Also get "lectures on ancient philosophy" to go into more depth. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book!!!
Anyone interested in psychics and spirituality will love this book (Talking to Heaven, A Medium's Message of Life after Death) by: James Van Praagh. Apart from the uplifting messages from the spirit world to their still embodied loved ones left behind, James speaks of all aspects of mediumship from clairvoyance to psychometry to clairsentience, clairaudience and seeing and reading aura's.He also speaks of the 7 chakras which are the main energy fields that must be opened in order to develope your intuitive abilities or psychic powers. He also states that you must have the right attitude before endevoring to develope you intuition. This attitude must be the desire to develope your psychic abibities for the betterment of mankind and not for fame and prosperity. He also speaks of his childhood growing up as a Chatholic and how he realized that God is beyond any one religion or faith. He realized that God Is all there IS!We all have that God Spark within us, therefore we are all one and the same in individual physcial bodies. It is for this reason that communication between our world and the astral world is possible. We never really die, we only change forms and return to the deminsion that is beyond duallity. Only our physcial world has duallity, and because of this we have physcial bodies and everything material. James also talks about reincarnation and karma.Karma is what we gather from all past experiences from this life and others that must be transended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
I bought this book when it was first published, and was astounded at the accuracy and elegant simplicity of the personality descriptions. The author/astrologer is taking his information from the star chart plus other sources (i.e., numerology, tarot, etc.) but the personality descriptions are so amazingly accurate, as much or more so than a personal natal chart. In fact, I find that this book has been more useful than the 2 natal charts I had done by professional astrologers. I moved to another city a year ago, and gave my book away. I miss it so much that I am buying another one. For anyone interested in personality study, I highly reccommend this book. And in addition to being exceptionally useful -- it's just FUN.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nicholas RodgersReview Is for the Wrong Book
The book that Nicholas purchased is a training manual for WEB I version 6.5. It is a Power Point presentation that is designed to self-train or to train others. It comes with the presentation on the CD so it can be presented through a projector.
1-0 out of 5 stars This is a Powerpoint presentation printed and bound.
This book looks like someone made a really long power point presentation and printed it out and had it made into a book. It could probably be useful for a teacher, but for a student it's not very useful. In addition, you must have full access to the businessobjects software in order to use the examples. In addition, this book has absolutely no coverage of the XI R2 web/java interface whatsoever.

4-0 out of 5 stars A keeper

I read this book. It's helped me understand my purpose and that we're not all here for the same reason. 4-0 out of 5 stars Keep an open mind...
Actually, I am in the process of listening to this book on tape and am getting a really good vibe from the actual author as she reads. She definately says "take what you can and leave the rest behind.Unfortunately, conservative Christians come off as "holier than thou" and bascially to me their concepts of the Bible detaches from everyday life. What good is a religion in my opinion if it doesn't teach you how to be a better human being. As far as the Bible goes, there has been edits made by those in position to do so to disempower the people for their own selfish means.Sylvia goes into this in speaking of reincarnation as an example of the corruptness of religious authoritarians.Remember slavery was deem appropriate by so called Christians at one time. However, Christianity isn't the disease, but those who interpret and misuse its teachings are the culprit of evil and that goes for any religious belief. I believe we have so much to learn about ourselves, life, the afterlife and the basic truth of all existence and to think there is only one way of thinking hinders us as human beings and our awarness of the eternity of life. When our beliefs limits our thinking or actions how great is that, I ask?I say stop preaching damnation and the wrath of God, and show by example the power of what it means to truly human and to love your fellow person. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
This is a fantastic book. I have been reading Hall and his books are very intelligent and enlightening. I have little doubt that what he writes here is true. I do fear however that this vision of America becoming an enlightened nation has been lost in a cloud of greed. America is now a large corporation where the rest of the world has placed it's stake. Look at our nation, we are now a nation of obese, greedy, lazy, uneducated, and apathetic slobs. We are caught in what I call Celebrity-ism (in wich we idolize and obsess with celeberties and their every move)and drowning in materialism. It is sad really. Maybe one day we will re-awaken to fufill the Secret Destiny of America.

5-0 out of 5 stars MORE than 5 stars!
This book is among my favorites in my Pagan library.I have had it since it was published and have over the years bought several copies. It's either been referred to so much it's fallen apart or has been borrowed and never returned. The brilliance of Scott's teachings are that he teaches only what's worked for him but he gives permission to you as Practitioner to evolve into your own Witch - you can tweak the spells so that they work for you and he applauds that and suggests that you do just exactly that.I have always had nothing but respect for the man and his writing - and am sad that he's no longer in this world to write more and share more of his wisdom.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites
I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn basics or just nature magick. It's one of the best spell books out there. It also makes a great yule present!

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspired and Accessible
Earth, Air, Fire & Water is a beginner's guide to practicing spells that utilize the energies found in natural objects. The author calls this "natural magic," although the foundations of this branch of magic are much simpler than the spells he goes on to provide.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent additional learning
Having read Wicca for the Solitary Practioner I found this excellent reinforcement. Plus Scott's attitude is so practical and even.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Addition to the Pagan Bookshelf
This book is great. You don't even have to be Wiccan to appreciate it.I am not, but this book contains a lot of wonderful information about simply living as a Pagan everyday. It explains the basic content of ritual, the importance of prayer, and Cunningham always says to do what is right for you rather than following someone else's "preaching."It goes into more detail than the previous book, Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner, and actually shows how to apply the concepts of the religion.Living Wicca is a wonderful book.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Good Guide to Living Wicca
As people are opening up in the millenium, the new age religiins experienced a boom. People don't judge you as much by your religion any more, so much as how much money they make. This is proiven by myself writ ing these reviews online- I go to a kind of famous local division III school, and there were quite a few others interesxted in the craft, though their knowledge was limited. I can testify that this book contains all the bnasic knowledge you need to become a Wiccan or magickal practitioner. Scott Cunningham was a noted authority on the subject and this is one of his most well known books. Though the Wicca craze has died down, it continues still as an alternative religion. Why they stock these in the new age section at chain bookstores I don't know. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A very interesting hypothetical explanation of our creation/evolution?
Sitchin's theories are very interesting. He asserts that we (the human race) may be the result of a genetic engineering project undertaken to breed a race of slaves-supposedly engineered by combining the genetic material of an extraterrestrial race with that of indigenous primates. Fascinating theory. His evidence lies mainly in the interpretation of sumerian cuneiform hieroglyphics. He also does a good job of illustrating the parallels and origin, in and of respectively, all major contemporary religious systems.
5-0 out of 5 stars THE 12TH PLANET
ZECHARIA STICHIN HAS AN ANSWER FOR MOST OF THE HISTORICAL ENIGMA'S THAT HAVE PUZZLED MANKIND TO THIS DAY. HE USUALLY HAS AT LEAST TWO REFRENCES OF WRITTEN HISTORY TO CORABORATE HIS HYPOTISES AND, MUCH OF THE TIMETHE BIBLE MAKES THE THIRD. IT TAKES LIFE, AND THE HISTORY OF US AS HUMAN BEINGS TO A NEW PERSPECTIVE. HIS SIX BOOK SERIES "THE EARTH CHRONICLES" IS OUTSTANDING! A MUST READ FOR FREE THINKERS.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ontology
Z.Sitchin only interprets what he is reading. The "SEMANTICS" of our own Americanized English creates misunderstanding everyday...what does one think writings over 5,000 years will do? Especially, in a language by all accounts that is a dead language. This book gets 7 stars because it challenges the mainstream inexcusable belief system. Most people are spoon fed history never even questioning whether if it can be proven or not. Any "theory" can be invalidated. Since history is filled with supposition and conjecture, how can one embrace what one holds to be truth without empirical evidence? We can believe, think, even guess or for that matter ridicule our way at the truth but in the end we are no more wiser than a scholar who interprets ancients writings. Its a shame that people have to tear this man down using the guise of reviews. I think that Z. Sitchin in earnest pieces together a history that has been scattered. I also believe that the very thought that GOD is not some omnipotent/omniscient intelligence scares the hell out of people. In all fairness these writings are not Hollywood science fictions to be disregarded like some outrageous tabloids we find at the checkout line. These writings are hewn in stone set back in a time when the paradigm of that civilization can now only be understood if not in part by these very tablets. Let me add that I have read this book over 10 years ago and up until now I found no reason to influence or persuade/dissuade anybody but after reading some of the reviews it just seems unjust to let some of these meanderings go without my say on the matter....if this book seems misguided could it possibly be that just maybe the tablets that Z.Sitchin interprets may be what seems misguided. So if one can interpret Sumerian tablets and challenge the validity of Z. Sitchins works based on actual knowledge of the language not disdain of the subject then that would be a fair review. Otherwise...IT IS WHAT IT IS! Too all those who say Prove it...I say Prove that its not true...it cannot be proven or disproved just argued about. I recommend this book to those who are not satisfied with the same old hum drum rhetoric that church and state teach us. I liked this book so much that I bought another one....one more thing I see that the flat earth society still has some members. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Tragic, but possibly therapeutical prose
I've no problem beleiveing that the author was the victim of some horrendous abuse.
2-0 out of 5 stars Project Monarch: The Making of a Modern Myth?
Cathy O'Brien is the alleged "Project Monarch" mind control survivor, co-author Mark Phillips, he says in the foreword, "was able to liberate [Ms O'Brien and her daughter] from the invisible grip of this US government secret weapon of control." An early reference to their case is in the 2nd edition (1994) of Operation Mind Control. Walter Bowart summarises this book in chapter 9, "The Story of O", referring throughout to Ms O'Brien as "O". He states, " Due to the volatile nature of the information contained in her story, I am withholding this victim's identity." Obviously then he thought there was some validity to their case. As for Mr Phillips, Bowart in chapter 11 of OMC describes him as a "respected if controversial figure among researchers" and adds "we can do no harm in repeating the information he offers, especially since it's been confirmed by others." OK. But, one area of curiosity is exactly where the term "Project Monarch" comes from. Nowhere in Trance Formation of America is this answered. So did Phillips just make it up?

5-0 out of 5 stars Five Tibetans
Being a yoga practitioner for 6 years now - I found this book to be an excellent resource for those who want a quick effective yoga workout - those who don't have the time to do an hour a day as I do. It is also good for when you travel as it requires no mats, blocks, blankets or any of the other props needed for most yoga regimes. Only thing I found disconcerting was the First Tibetan which made me naseuous. I have to assume this would subside with time.Well written and easy to follow. A simple but effective book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great exercises, more info would be helpful though
The exercises are great, I was recommended to buy this book and start doing them. Although I've been doing them for only two days, I already feel better. However, I have to say that the book is small, and, while the execution technique is properly explained, that is not enough. I also do qigong (beginner), and knew some other things that help, but it would have been nice if the book addressed to total beginners and explained what else is important. For example, do the same number of repetitions for each exercise. Why? Because the purpose of the tibetans is to synchronize the speed of chakras (hubs/vortexes of bodily energy), and to achieve that you have to do the same number. Even if you can do better for some exercises - don't - work up until you improve the weak ones and increase the number for all of them at the same time. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The Tao of Leadership: Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching Adapted for a New Age
Nice little book to keep on hand for those trying times.Has lots of very relevant points - you just have to stop, think and put it in context for you.
5-0 out of 5 stars Can't Lead Without It
I've used this book for over 10 years as my leadership support tool.As General Manager of a $200MM business, I need perspective and support on a daily basis - and Heider's book provides it. I love that the persective is NOT a management flavor of the week, but a view on leadership that stands the test of time.1-0 out of 5 stars Great Source, Bad Translation
I have read several translations of the Tao Te Ching and was very disappointed in this read. I feel as if much of the strengths from the original text are lost in this author?s choice of words and examples. This translation loses the beauty and appreciation of nature that the original texts focused on. (He refers to calculators and computers in some instances) I was also bothered by his addition of the Christian understanding of God as a character in his translations.Over all I really recommend finding a better translation than this to read if you are a first timer. (such as translation by Victor H. Mair) It is a bit more of a heavy read but caries over the interesting paradoxes that make the ancient document so intriguing.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Get Ready for a Thought Changing Experience
I first read the Celestine Prophecy in 1996 and since then it has and always will hold a special place in my heart as the awakening of my spiritual journey that changed my life. When I began to read it I felt like bells and whistles were going off in my head, my heart rate quickened, and I knew without a doubt that the insights were real. I knew I had to explore them - there had to be a better way to live than having the same dramas repeating over and over again in my life. The Celestine Prophecy was the foundation that helped me to move into being someone who now lives in honesty, integrity, with self-awareness, and self-love.

1-0 out of 5 stars Barely readable
I finally got around to reading this "Da Vinci Code" of the 90s at the suggestion of a coworker, prior to a trip to Peru I recently took.I had to force myself to finish it despite my initial inclination to toss it after the first 20 pages made me alternately laugh and groan at the lackluster writing, hoping that it would recover and turn out to be worthy of the best-selling status it once enjoyed.
4-0 out of 5 stars help, i'm drowning!
my husband's has been trying to get me to read this book for the past 5 years. finally, i've finished it! (it just wasn't the right time). i think it's a good book--totally relative to life. somewhat of a self-help book. particularly if you're someone that finds yourself in the same situations over and over and needs some help getting out of a rut. it sugguests an alternative perspective and approach to conflict. although it's written like a fiction, it gives insight to determining what YOUR problem is and how to deal with the people that come in and out of your life...good luck! ... This is an excellent book for people new to the topics of angels and spirituality. It also serves as a nice "refresher course" for people already knowledgeable about angels and angel communication. There are heartwarming angel anecdotes and easy to understand tools for communicating with the angelic realm.A helpful addition (or beginning) to your spiritual book collection!

5-0 out of 5 stars raising my energy levels
The information I absorbed from Angels 101 is helping me on a daily basis to raise my energy levels. I usually remember now to ask my angels for help and now I know a few names to call.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE be all-end all Thelemic resource
I've owned this book for several years now, and I STILL learn from it everytime I pick it up.This is NOT the right book for someone new to Aleister Crowley's writings - if you're just starting to look into Thelema and Crowley's approach to Ceremonial Magick, buy Lon Milo Duquette's "The Magick of Thelema"(recently re-issued as "The Magick of Aleister Crowley"), or Crowley's own "Magick Without Tears", a compilation of letters between Crowley and a female student regarding various subjects in magickal/spiritual development.Crowley made the mistake of assuming his readership was at least as educated as he was - well, everytime I read either his or H.P. Blavatsky's work, I am reminded how poor the modern public education system has become! This massive tome is worth every penny it costs, and more...It takes time(maybe a lifetime) to absorb, but it is absolutely worth it.Just remember this: Crowley was constrained by the prevailing laws of his time, and as such, was not always LEGALLY able to come out and just say what he wanted.Alot of things are spoken of in allegory and symbolism; and alot of the time, Crowley had his tongue planted firmly in his cheek when making certain statements. The guy had a cRaZy sense of humor!!Crowley was NOT a baby sacrificing monster - he was a misunderstood genius.

5-0 out of 5 stars Indispensible for Thelemic magicians
One cannot approach Thelemic magick without this book.I have editions of the various parts (Book 4, Magick in Theory and Practice) and they just don't work independently the way the whole volume does.It pulls all of the A.'.A.'. curriculum together and presents it, along with Crowley's examples and commentary, in such a way that a solo practioner might actually be able to make sense of it.
