5-0 out of 5 stars A Tour-de-force
This is one of the most important (not to mention eminently readable) books I've ever read. I would love to chat it up with the author.
1-0 out of 5 stars Cocktail party talk
There must be a serious vacuum in today's counter/sub-culture around psychedelics. Daniel thrills us with the confrontation with the Bwiti King around the Iboga ceremony. Beyond telling us about some of his own experiences we get to hear what sounds like the drone of a cocktail party.

5-0 out of 5 stars Annuals from Llewellyn a girl's good friend
Like all the publications from LLewellyn the 2007 Witches' Calendar is filled with colorful graphics and well written words of wisdom. The interesting folklore appeals to anyone interested in the craft, natural remedies, the phases of the moon and keeping track of Mother Earth's yearlong orbit. The easy to understand symbols make it clear the best days to plant, cultivate, harvest and fish. Its almanac qualities and colors of the day, along with the moons position through the zodiac phases can aid in a persons plans to begin, continue or refrain from a new project.

1-0 out of 5 stars You can't judge a book by its cover!
I saw the cover of this book and thought it must be one of the new plethora of diet and workout books. This conclusion reached due to the way Ms. Coulter is dressed.
5-0 out of 5 stars Thank GOD, a taste of their own medicine.
Ann Coulter is witty and insightful. The liberals want to throw stone and claim separation of church and state. That's because even a Satanist would cringe at their ultra left views. The liberals are finally getting what they're giving and they just can't handle it. Anyone who has actually taken the time to read this book as opposed to simply reading the Liberal talking points would have to say it's at the very least factual. Less than can be said about the near plagiarism of the less witty, less intelligent, less factual attack on this book.
5-0 out of 5 stars Ann Coulter

5-0 out of 5 stars Interesting, concise and informative
Writing from a Biblically conservative viewpoint, Chip Ingram uses a combination of his personal experience as a pastor and his academic training to develop the modern day application of the Roman armor metaphor used by Paul in his letter to the Ephesian church. The writing style is engaging, the handling of scripture careful, and the application highly relevant. He handles the subject of spiritual warfare with a serious respect for its reality but avoids any excess of sensationalism. Highly recommended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool for understanding spiritual warfare
Chip Ingram has given us a great resource in this book.He gives us a very balanced and scriptural look at the reality of the invisible war that we are all in.He does a great job of using God's Word combined with his own experiences to help us understand how Ephesians 6 applies to our daily lives. As a preacher and teacher, something I found especially helpful are the outlines that he gives at the beginning of each section. This not only lets you know where he's going, but it's also very useful in teaching the material to others.I definitely recommend this tool to help Christians develop a solid understanding of spiritual warfare.

5-0 out of 5 stars Standing & Having Done All, Stand
I found that Chip Ingram presented the material in a manner that is both succinct and informative. In the same matter-of-fact style as Derek Prince's, "Spiritual Warfare" book, Chip takes that material further and clarifies the metaphors used by Paul of each of the pieces of armor. Those who are trying to equip new believers will find this an excellent book for either a "textbook" or as a "teaching manual".I highly recommend it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Cosmic fun!
Read this and you will never be the same again! Unlike anything else I have ever read, the Oversoul 7 trilogy stands alone, and in my top 5 books of all time. Cosmic truths presented in fictional format, but NOT cheesy or contrived like most 'New Age fiction.' You know what I mean - those books that have a story just to provide an excuse for New Age preaching. blech. It's great when it works, but it rarely works. Well this time it works! Jane Roberts pulls it off, and pulls it off quite well!
5-0 out of 5 stars Oversoul Seven
I am an avid reader (although usually of non-fiction books), and I was completely taken in by this work of "fiction"!In fact, I read the entire trilogy (nearly 600 pages) in just a few days!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Fantastic
I've read dozens upon dozens of books on Ritual Magick, Occult Sciences and Paranormal Research, and this is by far the most informative piece of material I've ever read.Phil's style of writing is informative and indepth, yet brings the subject into a clear and concise manner.I wish I would've read this book in the beginning of my studies!I highly recommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Not just for begginers
What a great book, I've been practicing magick for quite a few years now and had read this book when I was starting out as a beginner who read more then he practiced. It seemed like an good book at the time.
4-0 out of 5 stars Review for non-practitioners, by a non-practitioner
You may have noted that all the other reviews of "Condensed Chaos" (at least as of this date) are by practitioners of magick, so their concern is whether the this book helps them advance the state of their art.If you are a non-practitioner, as I am, you might wonder what this book is about and whether these folks are really serious about this magick stuff or whether they are putting you on.Well, here's my take on "Condensed Chaos," from a non-practitioner's point of view.

3-0 out of 5 stars get to the point...i don't care for author's anecdotes!!
I love Linda Goodman's books, but I wish it was written in a different style. The information presented is accurate and on the mark but many paragraphs are long and tedious to read--too many personanl anecdotes and goes off topic a lot!!

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN AND USEFUL ASTROLOGY
I've owned this book for many years and recently bought a copy for my son for a fun reference and insite to his wife, toddler girl, siblings, boss etc. It's always amusing to see the way Linda hits the nail on the head when it comes to personalities and behaviors.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lovesigns - A Cut Above
LOVESIGNS by Linda Goodman is just as thoughtful and in-depth as I remember (from almost 30 years ago!).Filled with anecdotal, astrological factoids and quick explanations that enhance a deeper understanding of astrology, without being too technical or literal.Does NOT sound like all the other 'popular' horoscope writers. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Introduction
This book, recommended by a friend, was my initiation into the world of shamanism. I think Harner gives a great overall description of what shamanism is and where it comes from. There's no mystical, magical ramblings. It's very straighforward and based upon the research Michael Harner did personally as an anthropologist. He's taken the mystery out of shamanism, and presents it more as a science, or methodology.
4-0 out of 5 stars The Inner Journey Awaits~"Hail The Goer!"
'The Way of the Shaman' by anthropologist and practicing shaman Michael Harner does an admirable job in presenting core shammanic beliefs, vivid personal experiences with indigenous practicing cultures and how-to-techniques and training for individual and group shammanic journeying.
1-0 out of 5 stars Read it if you must-but take it from where it comes.
I have been teaching Shamanic workshops, and practicing Shamanic healing for many years ( never charging a penny for my services).

5-0 out of 5 stars A fantastic detailed guide
I have read many books like this (Seth, etc.) but the difference withi this book is that it is focussed on giving the reader specific exercises, along with examples and instructions, on how to "consciously create" your world. 5-0 out of 5 stars The book provides a whole new perspective towards life
The material that ABRAHAM presents resonates with Seth's materials. With easy to understand examples and analogies, ABRAHAM explains to us how we are indeed the creators of our lives and that our natural state is well being. The way that ABRAHAM presents the material is casual and can be applied practically and easily. ABRAHAM also provides fun little "games" (processes) that we can do everyday to enhance ourselves and how to become a deliberate creator (to take control of our lives).5-0 out of 5 stars Nothing More Than Feelings....
New Beginning II is a great explanation of the surprisingly revolutionary concept that it is our feelings and emotions that really "create our reality". Most new thought books rightfully stress the importance of thoughts, however, the overwhelming number of thoughts we have are the by-products of our emotional responses to what we perceive. New Beginning II clearly explains how to deliberately change these emotional responses, creating feelings, that in turn will cycle back to the kinds of thoughts we have to have in order to produce the positive feelings, which in turn will reproduce the positive thoughts we need to create the reality we desire. Think of New Beginning II as sort of "Seth Material dumbed down", it's less intellectually challenging than the Seth Material, but no less effective. I also find it interesting that Jerry and Esther Hicks proudly acknowledge the significance of the Seth Material and Jane Roberts...this is a positive reflection of the Hicks' ethical integrity-unlike the legions of New Thought authors who have been ripping off Seth/Jane for years, the Hicks' are honest about their spiritual heritage. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Image Your Life--Find strength, power, joy, love, and adventure
I found this book when I was fairly young, and it has served as a guide to living and a centerpoint for me.In the tradition of manifesting according to desire, intention, emotion, and belief, Seth urges you to do the work to create the life of your dreams.I don't know where this information came from; I don't care where this information came from.It works. It works, and you will create goodies and surprises for yourself that you never deemed possible. Please read it closely and with an open mind.Don't be daunted by the abstract concepts and some of the vocabulary. You will find that the information is as simple and elegant as a child's smile.

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring as h*!!
I've had this book for almost a year I wonder when I'll ever finish it.I'm about 2/3rds of the way through it.Every time I pick it up I look at couple of pages and then need to put it down.It is just so boring! There are some interesting ideas, but they are explained in the most boring and repetitive way possible.I get the impression those same ideas are expressed much better in other books. This book would have been so much better if they had edited it and compressed it down.I suppose they just wanted to hype the mystical experience of it all, trying to be historical, documentary-ish about it, trying to make the reader feel like he or she is there watching the channeling. Many people would see this book as begging the question of whether it is really possible to channel literature from unearthly spirits, so I imagine the format appeals to that slightly-skeptical mindset.I admit at some point I was skeptical, I figured I was gullible for reading the book. But I've had enough personal experience to know that weird stuff like this usually actually real, so I don't worry about it.In the end we all must examine ideas ourselves and can't rely on any authority; just because the source of the information is some ascended spirit doesn't mean it's true.Who knows what his true agenda is?I must also add, I think it's odd he would be named "Seth", I mean, isn't that the name of the egyptian god of evil?Anyway, my point is, I would rather read the cliff notes of this book, or something else entirely.I didn't need to read about what Jane ate for dinner at 6:37 pm on January 19th.Even when the book is talking about stuff that is actually true or useful, it seemed rather trite to me often times.I must admit, I am more spiritually advanced than most people, so a lot of the ideas were just stuff I already knew instinctually. This book would be a great introduction to some new ideas for people who are a little less clue-full, probably, although it sounds like there are better books with the same ideas.

5-0 out of 5 stars Begin with the first book, and proceed!
If you have never read any Jane/Seth books, whoo boy, are you in for a treat!!Read them the way that they were written, in that order. There is a reason for it.If you have already read everything, start over!!WHAT!!You think you have remembered it all, already!!It is fresh every single time I read, and I am in a good different new place when I finish.Cheers!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great tool for support
I have read this book before and just recently re-purchased it based on some things that were going on in my own family. It is a great primer for both the person who may be experiencing a life threatening illness, or even just a life changing illness, as well as a guide for all of the family members and friends who may be offering support. It provides an expectation for the emotional roller coaster than both the patient and the family members will experience so that they are better prepared to work through the issues, and keep the lines of communication open.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book
Someone gave me this book after my husband of 32 years died suddenly.I can only say I wish I had read it sooner. Two points make the book WONDERFUL for me.An acclaimed scientist and author wrote the text in 1977 and vocalized the unconditional love you experience after death.Secondly, when I was a lifeguard I had this experience while rescuing a child who did live but I almost died.My mentor told me I had only an hallucination due to oxygen deprivation. After that judgement by him, I never trusted the vision and feelings I had experienced.I rarely spoke of the incident and only to 2 very trusted friends who were dying of heart problems to give them comfort prefacing my experience with the words of my coach. While 'Life after Life' was validating, Kubler-Ross gets right to the point on page 16.Knowing that past experience was real would have made my husband's death easier for me I think.I hope this book helps you in your journey as the book helped me.I now give this book to anyone I know experiencing death.

...then this is a book that will definitely teach you that.I already speak to my guides regularly, and I thought this book would give me some insight into connecting on a deeper level with my guide, since that is what the subtitle purports to some extent.Unfortunately, this book really is all about channelling. It mentions the nature of spirit guides only in a cursory fashion, and in fact I found all of the introductory materials rather cursory. This is a book that will require you to practice regularly, and the exercises are geared toward you learning to channel.Furthermore, I was turned off of channeling as it is repeatedly made clear that the channelers often do not even understand, or remember, what they are channeling! Why would I want to learn to channel when I can already speak directly to my guides?I have always been a very utilitarian practitioner in all my spiritual endeavors and I feel like channelling is just... too involved a process. That may simply be my own bias. The book did explain channelling in a manner I could understand. Unfortunately, it really wasn't what I was looking for and it turned me off channelling altogether.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pure Guidance for Pure Channeling
This book is pure in both its presentation and in the results I have achieved as a result of following the guidance given.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book changed how I view life, how I live it
I own 8 copies of this book, 5 of which are hard bound, and probably read it over 30 times straight through as well.Of all the Seth books you can find, this one contains the most information, inspiration and spine-tingling text imaginable.
5-0 out of 5 stars response to Kima:
Why is it strange that she wrote this? Yes we hold the creative powers and so should not fear 'negative entities' but that is ONLY if we have the KNOWLEDGE to do so. If we don't, just getting scared can attract negative energy. So don't just make fun of her as if she's ridiculous. I think she gave good advice to people who would have no prior knowledge and would start getting scared. Not that I would. Differenciation is important..

5-0 out of 5 stars A Manual on the mechanics of reality
I first read this book almost 30 years ago and it has shaped my life and been a part of it for most of the subsequent years. It is by no means an "easy" read and this is mostly because it's hard to read a paragraph without going deep into thought. The book (as with all of the Seth books)really resonated as the truth to me and many of the others that I have turned on to it throught the years. The only criticism that I could possible offer is that it is weak on techniques to utilize in order to deliberately create your own reality although, it advertises such in the sub-title. I took a course called the Avatar course a few years ago that filled that gap extremely well though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Light Emerging : The Journey of Personal Healing
I have not begun to read this book yet, but it came highly recommended by other spiritual healers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Stuff
This book is chock full of amazing things. Reads easily. Many applicable exercises for the every day person.

2-0 out of 5 stars Another follow up book
I read Emerging Light with some high expectations, having read Hands of Light. This book was a dissapointment to me. It seems that Barbara followed the path of "I wrote one successful book, therefore I can cash in one the craze" that many authors do.There wasn't a lot of really relevant information here, though a few tidbits here and there. When she discusses the cords it didn't seems anywhere near as accurate as when Mark Rich writes about them in Energetic Anatomy. The part about the core star isn't anything I had ever heard of and didn't really resonate with me much. I think sticking with Hands of Light is probably a better idea. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great book from Grof
I first became very interested in the work of Stanislav Grof because of my own experines with non-ordinary states. He is perhaps a member of a small, yet increasing, group of academics that are not chained by the current mechanical scientism paradigm. In this book, he reflects on decades of research and experines that shatter that paradigm. The writiting style is very warm and clear. This is a very exciting book and enchances many of his other books.I would suggest that anyone with a curious nature and open mind read his books. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars 60-70% water we are
Given Mr. Emoto's spectacular photographic evidence and the power of his own personal convictions - the mere act of reading his book and looking at his pictures makes the reader a better person. One might think that the effect would begin to become less exciting, but it never seems to. The inclusion of his grandchild and kitten is, as always, irresistible. I found the reports from praying adults about how they are most comfortable especially interesting. Meanwhile, the local water, despite alleged benefits of our water treatment facilities, leaves us with highly polluted water anyhow. So, we've been labeling our water and ourselves with the word "love" and conducting our own experiments with the water that we use - including bottled water and wash water. Just imagine if we can actually love ourselves to a 60-70% capacity! If enough people do this - and then love our neighbors too - even our politicians (whether we favor them politically or not) - we COULD change the world - we CAN change it - little by little. First a couple of people, then more, then more - finally the 100th monkey, so to speak. What's to lose?Let's try.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Collection ofWater Crystal Images
This is a beautiful and lovingly done collection of Emoto's water crystal photos. Most of the pages are simply a large color picture with a brief description of the circumstances of the image. The focus is on positive and vibrant images (the result of water molecules taking on and reflecting the vibrations of events, symbols, printed words, pictures and sounds) with only very few showing the contrast of ugly aborted crystals. I'm pretty excited and blown away by the implication of all this. Many of these pictures seem sublimely profound and magical in their expression. Sometimes I wonder if its too good to be true, but it is beautiful and life changing none the less.
