5-0 out of 5 stars Stunning
All the "Seth" books are nothing short of stunning. They are also gripping, mind boggling, unforgettable, and life-changing.
4-0 out of 5 stars why do things happen?
Why do we have world events, disasters, weather, etc the way they occur? This book address these questions.Reading this book, one can see how we create our realities as societies, cultures, countries, etc.We can gain additional, if not totally new, insight on this matter. What you will find out may surprise you, it may even make you angry or just make you not believe what the book says.To gain further insight, read The Personal Nature of Reality also which will show you how we create our own immediate reality. To me it was difficult to read but others that I know had no problem.Possibly it was hard to read was because it was packed full of information?I give it 4 stars because the way it was written.I think it could have been written so that it is less verbose and easier to understand. This book was written in the 70's when this kind of information was new and hard to find.

5-0 out of 5 stars New to Seth? This book may perplex.
Don't get me wrong. All the Seth books by Jane Roberts are worthwhile. And given recent global events, this book is more timely than ever. So I highly recommend that at some point you purchase this book so that you can read and reread it many times over. You should definitely aim to have all the Seth books as part of your personal library. I surely do. And I can pick a Seth book at random, turn to any page, and come away with a fresh insight. But if you are not sure who or what Seth is? Then this book may only confuse and perplex you. If you are new to Seth, I highly recommend that you start with "The Coming of Seth," followed by "The Seth Material," and then the must-have-Seth-book-of-all-time, "The Nature of Personal Reality." Then you will most surely want to read "The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events." My only complaint about this book? The "current" events referred to in this book may seem like ancient history to some. Oh, how I wish Ms. Roberts were alive today for Seth to comment upon such things as the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the more recent terrorist attacks. But indirectly, this book will help you come to terms with all these events and more. So in this respect, it is more important now than ever before. And one of the reasons that I include it on my list of "Timely Tomes for Troubled Times." ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Failure
While I absolutely adore Sylvia Browne and also Chris by default, this book was an utter disappointment. There is absolutely nothing new in "My Psychic Journey". Even some of the anecdotes overlap with Sylvia's other books. Chris has simply rewritten his mother's books and didn't even both to change the style or tone to fit his own personality. I got nothing from reading it and was sorely disappointed. The only difference between "Psychic Journey" and Sylvia's books is that Chris writes erratically, dragging in some places while not expanding in others. Every single chapter eventually deviates from the original topic and then comes back toward the end, seemingly to make a point (which doesn't happen) which only serves to highlight the fact that the reader has just read several pages about essentially nothing of relevance.
4-0 out of 5 stars Verdict's still out....
I'm so torn as to how to review this book.I love Chris personally (and his mom) but there seems to be so much re-hashing (of his mother's books) and just a bit of hypocrisy (on page 39 he states emphatically that he has absolutely no faith in "trappings" e.g., pendulums, etc. yet on page 139 he goes into detail describing how those trappings should be used). If he holds no store in them, then why is he explaining them to his audience?I also have the feeling that were it not for all the constant mentions of his mother, the book would be a fraction of the already small size that it is.It's interesting that both he and his mother came out w/ a book about the exact same thing at the exact same time.Had Chris not mentioned something about payroll being due again, that would have been my first question.
5-0 out of 5 stars Very energized and inspirational book
This is very interesting book. I find it very interesting to know about the routine life of the psychic, the power of prayer, the connection with God. This book helps me to deal with my own problems. It energized me, helped me to restore my energy after hard day. I could never work as a psychic andpredict future. Sometimes I use Tarot cards, Healing with the Angels cards for myself to meditate and just relax. I could not 100% rely on this cards, and I would not. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Holding up such anomalies as ESP, psychokinesis, prayer, near-death experiences, andreincarnation under the cool light of scientific scrutiny can be a daunting task. 5-0 out of 5 stars An excellect review of the wholeness of reality
Together with his book, "The Entangled Minds." Radin has brought to attention how limited is the main-stream vision of reality with respect to consiousness. He skilfully structures this encompassing subject so that the reader can appreciate its breadth and depth. Although in this case the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, the parts have been meticulously examined, as regard to historical and current knowledge. With my own backkgound, starting with "Pauli and Jung," I found Radin's book a welcome extension to my grasp of the metaphysics of wholeness, as it relates topsychology and physics, and the challenge of opening our mind to a new way of thinking about the universe. The book makes a fascinating contribution to this rapidly developing field of thought.

5-0 out of 5 stars Important book showing the impressive findings of psi research
This is a good book about psi research.Dean Radin shows the research done up to that point showing findings beyond chance in tests of mental activity like telekinesis, telepathy, and precognition. He is very careful in laying out the case. The cynicism that abounds in the scientific community about psi warrants a cautious approach, however.
5-0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars for writing style, clarity, analysis, and scope...
I consider Dr. Radin to be a man that takes a lot of heat for his experiments and beliefs.Whether or not you agree with him, I think this book shows that Dr. Radin didn't come to the conclusion that psi phenomenon are real overnight. He spent years investigating subtle aspects of "psi phenomena", analyzed large bodies of this type of experimental research, and learned to implement numerous statistical techniques. I do not consider him to be a "quack".Dean Radin is a dedicated scientist.Whether or not he is a misguided scientist depends upon your point of view. I am not convinced that he is misguided. This book has made me open to investigating more and learning more before I draw any conclusions. I simply am not sure what to believe.

Few can talk with more personal authority about the range of human beliefs than Michael Shermer. At various times in the past, Shermer has believed in fundamentalist Christianity, alien abductions, Ayn Rand, megavitamin therapy, and deep-tissue massage. Now he believes in skepticism, and his motto is "Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Shermer could take a lesson from Carl Sagan
I love technical material from an expert source. But the writer has to be able to graphically communicate the information and show knowledge of more than just the topic of material.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent read.....
I want to say from the get go that the author is an easy to read and listen to, since he doesn't come off as holier than thou or demeaning toward those whom he disagrees with. He doesn't come off as mean.Which is important if you want people who may not agree with your agnostic views, to listen.
3-0 out of 5 stars Seductive package-dealing
So-called "skeptics" have an important niche to fill in modern society. I see them as people with a training in logic and what is known today as "critical thinking", coupled with a broad knowledge of popular science, who choose to tackle the pseudo-scientists and -historians, the charlatans and liars of all stripes whom professional scholars cannot waste their time fighting against. I myself enjoy seeing them at work, and Michael Shermer in particular has done a good job in such TV series as "Exploring the Unknown" (hosted by Michael Pileggi of "X Files" fame) debunking such modern fads and fallacies as Roswell, spontaneous human combustion, cattle mutilation or fake moon landings.

This is a book that gets to the point. It's the "how to" book we're looking for. I started reading it Friday evening - and finished it on Sunday. Worth every penny. Thanks Henry.

5-0 out of 5 stars An eye opener
I bought this book a week ago at a local bookstore. 5-0 out of 5 stars For the Serious Student
I've now read my share of psychic "How to" books, but this one takes the cake. This book tells teaches more than how to be psychic, but also where it all comes from, psychology and philosophy, it also combinds scientific facts and experiments to prove psychic existance, thus, giving you a broader aspect of the psychic phenomenon. For those who have finished your beginner books, and want something more in depth and fullfilling, this is the book. After reading this book, I had to order more Edgar Cayce books! Happy reading! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars The index is very useful
I was disappointed in the superficiality of the descriptions for the herbs and their uses, but the index is very useful. Folk names, common names, and Latin names are all easily found -making it much simpler to track down the plants you want at your local greenhouse.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs (Llewellyn's Sourcebook Series)
This is a great general book. A word to the wise. Some of the herbs that he recommends are posionous and should be not ingested. These herbs are in no way flagged in the book at all. Lily of the Valley, Mandrake, Belladonna are all dangerous and not for use without extensive research. Remember even if you see lots of food on the forest ground not all of it is safe to eat.

5-0 out of 5 stars practical info for the practicing witch
what I like about this book is not the info on obcure plants that I have to send away for, but the info on things and herbs you can find in the grosery store. like some fruits and spices.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
This is a moving story about a pastor who dies instantly in a car crash and goes to heaven. He is greeted by a welcoming committee of friends and loved ones who have already passed on into glory. The sights he sees, the things he hears, and the whole experience of being in heaven is more wonderful than anything he has ever experienced.

5-0 out of 5 stars Read with a mind open to all things and attached to nothing
It seems to me much of the problem some readers are having with The Seat of the Soul is having the material validated so that it meets their approval. That is an impossibility due to the very nature of the subject. In order to comprehend certain things we must change our current frame of reference. This is explained in the book:
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Greatest Books Ever Written
I'm so surprised by the negative reviews for "The Seat of the Soul" on Amazon that I felt compelled to write this one. This is one of the greatest books ever written. It completely transformed my life and will yours too if you read it thoughtfully and are able to absorb Zukav's concepts.
5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Introduction to Metaphysical Ideas

3-0 out of 5 stars Worth purchasing for the relationship section, otherwise mediocre.
Helen Palmer is well-respected author in the Enneagram world. However, I don't personally find her to be one of the best in terms of accuracy, lucidity and covering a lot of ground in a short amount of space. A lot of the information in her books can be found elsewhere and I find these other descriptions of the types more true to life. Other people find Helen Palmer easier to read, so everyone reading this is aware of my bias.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Relationship Books of All Time
I was never one for long reviews...but there are only a few books that are a MUST for your library and this is one of them.
5-0 out of 5 stars I was astounded...
I borrowed this book from an instructor who was teaching the Enneagram to a small group of interested people. When I read the chapter on 4's I was amazed at the accuracy of the personality "type" to my own. It felt as if a clinical psychologist had followed me though my emotional and traumatic years and recorded all of my triumphs and tribulations in a concise, analytical manner. Better still, it explained why my instincts to react were so different from those around me. I learned to see that people have very different motivations than my own which meant that I needed to realize that I could not change them but I could now appreciate why they saw things in other ways.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very complete... but very complex
A excellent and serious book about self initiation in the Golden Dawn magic system. But it's very complex too. This big book will teach you a lot of details about magical things and cosmogony, through a one or two year's "evening class".
2-0 out of 5 stars Changes and Errors
There are some gross errors in this book (especially in the artwork) that make me wonder as to the real accomplishments and attainments of the authors. The errors are such that I don't believe them to be intentional blinds. The Cicero's have removed nearly all traces of the Judeao-Christian Masonic themes from the Golden Dawn and have emphasized the Egyptian and Neo-Pagan.In doing so, key mystical truths have been omitted.
5-0 out of 5 stars Self Initiation into the Golden Dawn...
This is a keystone piece of modern literature for the Western Esoteric Tradition. Not for the faint of heart, this tome encloses prodigious knowledge from around the world and throughout the ages.

If you are looking for some quick and easy exercises to bring out or enhance your innate psychic ability, this is your book. I consider it a "must-have" for anyone. 5-0 out of 5 stars WOW
This book pretty much has all the answers on every level in the current existence. It has the feel of unpolluted truth, especially if you skip the commentary half (which is very good by the way). It is not what it appears and simple interpretations will not do it justice. Pick it up in the different phases of your life see what new secrets you unmask.

5-0 out of 5 stars Vast - Precious
If allowed to own only one book, no question this would be the one. The book transmits valuable insights from a very ancient -timeless perspective, offering a glimpse of vast human capabilities. Doreal is a rare master who reveals a deep metaphysical interpretation to this mystical treasure. See "Brotherhood of the White Temple" for Hardback collector edition. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Isreal lives
What can I say..awsome book by one of the Great Magi of our times!Gives you the complete system from top to bottom as far as the Golden Dawn goes.Beginers could use this book...but Id suggest Donald Michael Criegs "Modern magick" first if your realy new to the system! But just to help give you some foundation before you dive into this complete Tome.Suppliment it with some od Isreal's teachings on CD and youll go far.......fast!

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent reference, not for beginners
Step by step instruction is lacking and certain fundamental ideas are assumed to be known and understood by the reader...a complete beginner would be lost with this book alone. It is an invaluable reference for someone who has a certain level of practical experience, but a book like Don Kraig's Modern Magick would be preferable to start with.

2-0 out of 5 stars An Unreliable Indictment of Traditional Christianity
I must admit that The Jesus Dynasty is not the type of book I would normally read and I therefore approached it with great interest.Though much of it is written as a sort of adventurous novel, there is nevertheless much relevant historical information spread throughout the book.I learned much from Tabor's extensive Biblical and historical knowledge, yet despite this knowledge I feel that Tabor has, in several key points, provided speculative arguments without providing adequate evidence for his case.Nevertheless, I should have expected as much, for in his Preface, Tabor states that his book, "differs considerably, sometimes radically, from the standard portrait of Jesus informed by theological dogma. The Jesus Dynasty proposes an original version of Christianity, long lost and forgotten, but one that can be reliably traced back to the founder, Jesus himself (4)."Tabor has certainly presented an original version of Christianity, yet I don't believe it can be reliably traced back to Jesus as he claims.
5-0 out of 5 stars Bravo !
I have no problem in giving 5 stars to Tabor's book. I first purchased an audio version of this book and found it so interesting that I bought the book itself. The book is very readable and full of surprises. Christians have been presenting one sided information regarding Christ and ignore all other possibilities in the name of faith.
