5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent read for therapists and non-therapists alike!
This is yet another excellent read by Dr. Michael Newton on past life and life between life regression. It is more a technical/reference manual for his particular form of hypnotherapy and how/why he developed the format he uses today. As I'm currently preparing to get my hypnotherapy certification I found his book extraordinarily useful and look forward to applying his techniques in my own practice.
5-0 out of 5 stars As Always a Treat for the Soul
Although this book is really intended for professionals, it was still wonderful to have another Newton book to devour.I wouldn't recommend anyone to purchase this book before they've read "Journey of Souls" and "Destiny of Souls" or you won't have a clue what he's talking about.
5-0 out of 5 stars A roadmap for healing
This book is a wonderful follow up to Michael Newton's other work and is a must read for any hypnotherapist currently working in the past life regression field. It offers clear guidelines and supports these with case studies that are filled with relevant detail. As a hypnotherapist myself this has filled me with renewed passion and dedication to explore this field further. As we work to raise our consciousness, to heal, to fill our lives with love and light, books like this one are roadmaps of insight along our way. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Here is an astoundingly rich and needed addition to spiritual literature. With Sisyphean diligence, Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat have managed to compile an extraordinary array of spiritual passages from writers across time and regardless of religious denomination, from the lyricist Leonard Cohen to the philosopher Jacob Needleman, from the mystic Christian Meister Eckhart to the novelist Annie Dillard, from the Zen master Robert Aitken to the poet Robert Haas. Read this book, contemplate it and learn the ABCs of spiritually, of life. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars spiritual intelligence is a skill
The editors of this enriching collection quote a broad spectrum of spiritual passages and shorter comments from writers throughout history, with different religious orientations, ranging from lyricist Leonard Cohen to philosopher Jacob Needleman; Christian mystic Meister Eckhart to writers Maya Angelou and Annie Dillard. With its diverse prose and poetry, there is much to inspire readers to "read the signs that point to the active presence of Spirit in the world around us."
4-0 out of 5 stars A marvelous resource
Holding this hefty book in your hands, you cannot help but admire and respect the editorial efforts of the Brussats. They have put together a dazzling compendium of spiritual wisdom -- and have certainly done a lion's share of promoting many wonderful books that probably wouldn't have gained public attention otherwise! Many of the books they've quoted are now prized possessions on my book shelf, and I am grateful for having had this resource to light the path.
5-0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and excellent!
This book is arranged in a series of topics, covering the gamut from the simple (the spirituality of the things in our life, ordinary objects we take for granted), to the most complex (the spirituality of community) and all the steps in between. What is especially marvellous about this book is the way that it doesn't merely state a concept or a lesson. It deomstrates it, via the several quotes and story-lets per topic taken from all spiritual traditions and ways.If it were possible to rate a book with six stars, I would rate this book that high. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Funny Thing, Life
"What a funny thing, life," thinks Evan Malloy, the main character in David Long's new novel, The Inhabited World. And it is, despite the fact that Evan is a ghost, having died by suicide but existing now in a kind of purgatory, confined to wandering the house and yard where he once lived with his wife, Claudia. Now he invisibly observes the house's string of new inhabitants, including the current one, Maureen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quit Reading Reviews and BUY THIS NOW!!!
I will admit I LOVE psychic/metaphysical type CD programs and have purchased lots of them and really enjoy them all for what they offer. But this one is a cut above and truly fantastic. To begin with John Edward has a great voice, and a fun delivery style. He is obviously passionate about his work, loves what he is doing and it shows!!! I have been using the meditations on these CDs and they are amazing (I am sick of hearing everyone use the word amazing, but drat, it is the best word to describe this series!). Just take my word for it and buy this set and then devote some time everyday to it. You will be, ok, here I go again, AMAZED, at the results!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for beginners
Both my husband and I are really enjoying these CD's. I love having the variety of subjects so we don't have to listen to the same meditiation over and over again. I love how there's two meditations on some of the CD's. It's great for beginners who want good information and a meditation from someone who is down to earth and not extremely metaphysical. He explains his ideas but doesn't preach them like they are the ultimate answer.

If anyone wants to know how to develop, then this is a must. As a practising medium, clairvoyant and healer, this was a top up session for me but also confirmed thoughts and worries that you get when dealing with the public. You can feel the good vibes from this and the mediation and taking you to a place, even though I like more of anatural place it certainly works for connecting to spirit. I have gone a stage further thanks to John Edwards and through my expereince have developed some free e-books on various subjects at [...] to help people, thanks to John Edwards the world is a magical place to learn.

2-0 out of 5 stars Hard to Believe without solid facts...
The Committee of 300 is an interesting read and I enjoyed the thorough breakdown of socio-political groups, organizations, etc. and their hierarchy. There is probably some truth there. But the author makes some allegations that are lacking in verifiable facts and belie a not-so-subtle political axe to grind. For example, the mass murders of 150,000 Iraqi troops (tavelling under a white flag of truce...) ordered by President Bush during the first Gulf War?The burying alive of 12,000 Iraqi troops again by the order of President Bush?Since the book was written prior to the Clinton presidency, it's hard to say if the author is merely anti-republican or just doesn't like the Bush family. There are only a few non-text pages in the book (again no documentation to support his assertions...) but one of them has a nice graphic of the hierarchy of the Masons which appears to be reprinted from an mid-20th century book. Given a choice, I would not have bought this book again.

4-0 out of 5 stars interesting set of events
The author is definitely a man of his time with use of words such as negroe, hispositive stance on nuclear energy, his sympathy for the Boers war against the wealthy imperialist and not the indigenous peoplesfor whom the land was stolen , his belief that Bayard Rustin is still head of organizations, his not calling Cecil Rhodes thegenocidal maniac that he was.In addition there is no call by the author to have repairs made to descendents of slaves for which most wealthyfamilies of America and England benefited according to Mr. Coleman .However despite that , very relevant points are made anda considerable amount of events discussed have come to pass, are currently happening and or measures are put in place so that some events will present themselves soon. The author seemingly put great detail and thought in telling the tale that is told and appears to be very compassionate, knowledgeable, forthcoming with his variety of information.I would very much like to know what happened in his life that would make an ex MI6 agent spill the beans.
4-0 out of 5 stars Committee of 300
I understand that Dr. Coleman didn't completely document his work. Most likely Dr. Coleman assumed, and shouldn't have, that most of the readers would have already been schooled in the remedial works of the globalists in our world. Not the least of which is the Council On Foreign Relations. The CFR is conspiracy hidden in plain sight and you have to have the brain the size of a pea to miss it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Well Presented Theory
I'm a big fan of ancient history. I remember when I went to a university open day toward the end of high school. I wandered over to the archaeology wing, and in a glass case they had a genuine Sumerian cuneiform, one of the oldest pieces of writing in known history. It was only a little one, but I remember being mesmerized by it. I'm also a big fan of alternative histories, because I do have a feeling there is more to prehistory than there appears, and have read quite a few of the "essential" reads.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Book
This was a serious and thought provoking look into facts that modern science wants no light shed on. Modern geography, anthropology, and especially Egyptology are turned completely on there heads by the undisputable evidence put forth in this book.
5-0 out of 5 stars He did it again !
After Fingerprints of the Gods, I read Supernatural, Then reread Andrew Collins, From the Ashes of Angels, I would like to see these authors cowrite a book, because I have a feeling that now we are really getting close to the truth on Earths past history. Maybe the animal headed gods of egypt and other places were seen by the shamans, and reported on when they returned from thier Astral Journeys. 3-0 out of 5 stars Yikes!
Oh my goodness! I bought this book for a little 7 year old girl. She loves "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Corpse Bride" - and she loves scary stories and such - so I thought this would be perfect. I gave one to my 11 year old too. Well - that was last Christmas - and just last night (it's now June) my 11 year old decided to read the book. This book is NOT appropriate for a 7 year old or even and 11 year old. There are blatant references to sex. How emabarressing! I have to apologize to the little girl's Mom. They probably read the book six months ago and thought I was a sick-o. So - just a warning - in case you think this is a great gift for a kid - it's not.

5-0 out of 5 stars The most important book I ever read!
When, in 2002, I sat down to write, and eventually publish, my own spiritual autobiography (The Vortex: A True Story of Passion and Karma) I knew there was no way I'd be able to explain to my readers all the bizzare paranormal events I had described in my book. Explaining them wasn't even part of my agenda. Just sharing the story seemed like quite enough for me to undertake.
5-0 out of 5 stars So many comments...
....and all of them true.I found myself tingling, resonating, learning and disbelieving through all of the three books.I must say, though, that I am surprised that so many people seem to have gotten ANSWERS to their life questions from them.I got a lot of hunches and hints and stimulating doubts from them, but.. answers?Definately not.And that is the point of discernment, I think.Fun to read and re-read, and yes, I quote them all the time. But then, I quote Eddie Izzard all the time too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Teachers of great wisdom
I always looking for answers like everybody else does it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Information Thrown Together
This book may be a good introduction to freethinking for those curious enough to pick it up.The book suffers from a poor presentation that makes it seem disorganized and comic-bookish. The truth is it is not all that bad, but the reader needs to approach it understnding that all this book does is introduce you to the issues. If someone reads this book and becomes interested in following the trail of one of the many authors introduced, well then the book has done its job, I think. That appears to be the purpose.I like this book and would recommend it to teenagers or those who have blindly accepted received wisdom all their lives and who are now ready to explore for themselves. Is it a threat to faith?--- yes it is. It encourages free-thinking in the purest sense, and any and all freethinking threatens religious dogmatism and priestcraft. The title is therefore appropriate; this book has a value of its own in that it may reach and help many people who are grasping for the truth, who are fed up with groveling before a fairy tale.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth it
I read many historical and theological books. This book lacks organization and it lacks any academic references. The vast majority of historical and/or theological books include bibliographies and footnotes or endnotes. This book had none of these.Further, as the book is an accumulation of essays and excerpts from many other sources, I would expect a bit of an explanation for each of the authors - especially the more obscure ones.
2-0 out of 5 stars Holy typos! Editor please!
Ok, I was raised VERY fundamentalist but I'm an agnostic verging on atheist and grabbed this book as something to help fuel debates with believers. It is ok in that it presents alot of different ideas, but it has very little depth to any of them. And for god's sake, if you are going to refute christian theory with any legitimacy ya might not want to have typos all over the place! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A must read book
This is a great book. I wasn't really sure what to expect at first but it has helped me to get going with my wish or new reality. Plus, I like the fact that the author knows what she's talking about because she's been through the same thing so she's not just writing a book and hasn't used the technique herself. I highly recommend this book my wish my new reality is already starting to manifest. Now I will be reading laura days other book Welcome to your crisis.

4-0 out of 5 stars changing your way of thinking
It has several interesting techniques and ideas for making changes in your life. To change one's life, you first must change your mind set, how you think is how your life is. This is a very important concept which this book explains and how to change your subconscious which in turn will enable you to make those life changes for the better.

4-0 out of 5 stars Well written and interesting
This book may turn off some who attempt to read without an open mind. However, after reading, I truly don't think this philosophy is limited to the New Age crowd. If anyone thinks of his or her goals as if having already achieved them, it helps to break down barriers and be ready for whatever opportunities come along. Acting "as if" is not a new concept! Laura Day manages to speak of the spiritual in a way that doesn't make it seem like unattainable fluff. The book also has several interesting written examples and exercises. Recommended for anyone who is interested in reaching their dreams and pondering the miracles that happen in daily life. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Wonderful
This book is one of the most responsible books with runes I've ever come across.Written thoughtfully and carefully, this tool can help anyone connect with their higher selves.I highly recommend it to anyone interested in growth.

3-0 out of 5 stars A unique system- not quite compatible with other rune books
This was the first book on runes I got, and while it served me well for a few years, as soon as I started reading other books on runes, I felt a little betrayed.Blum doesn't mention that there is an order to the runes that everyone but himabides by.He doesn't mention that there are countless other resources on the meanings.Reading his book, you get the idea that he somehow divinely accessed these meanings all by himself.I had to relearn the order of the runes and puzzle out the differences between his book and other more traditional books. He does have some phrases like "wait on the will of god" and such, but those never really bothered me and I'm pagan.I still have the rune set and book and refer to them from time to time, but I wish I'd started out with a more traditional book on runes.

4-0 out of 5 stars Still a great set after all these years
This book has been with me for over ten years and is still an insightful and servicable guide.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Put Together
This book was just what I was looking for!I didn't know anything about the tarot and wanted to learn more but didn't want a book that just talked about the spiritual side of tarot.Learning the Tarot: A Tarot Book for Beginners was an amazing choice because it gave detailed information about every card, different spreads, the story behind the tarot, and even had exercises for practicing!Overall, I am very happy I bought this book, and I strongly reccommend it if you are looking for in-depth information on all of the cards.

2-0 out of 5 stars readabily
the book is easy to read and is clear. but because of my first time of this nature of material it is the first information so i have no idea to compare too. It is written for easy learning.
5-0 out of 5 stars Like a detailed reference card
This is a great book for the tarot. I use it a lot as my quicky reference guide. I like the breakdown meaning of each card into simple words. It's also great to have a listing of reinforcing and opposing cards. This book gives a nice explanation of each card as well as a basic understanding of the tarot as a whole. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars To "See" =Alone In The World With Nothing But Folly.
This book is the sequel to the first book "The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge" and is just as meaningful and profound. The idea of spirituality under the Yaqui Indian paradigm, like other esoteric perceptions, conveys a non-ordinary reality where rationalizations and human explanations act as superficiality.
5-0 out of 5 stars Castaneda brings us this guide to a life free of worry
I admire Carlos Castaneda for his courage, perseverance and devotion to attain deep spiritual wisdom and knowledge. He deserves a generous "thank you" for traveling deep into the Mexican wilderness to bring us a documented account of the secret spiritual tradition of the Yaqui Indian that produces men of intense spirit, profound character and impressive psychological powers.Castaneda, who throughout the book seems to be very earthly and rational, makes a tremendous effort to explore a realm of existence that goes well beyond his comfort zone.I have not read its precursor The Teachings of Don Juan... but I was still able to understand and enjoy this sequel.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth Purchasing for the Diet Info Alone
What a great book.Clear, common-sense advice on keeping your mind healthy through natural approaches. The diet-related information is worth its weight in gold.I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars A broader view of depresssion
Excellent book.A multi-disciplinary view of depression, it looks beyond drug and talk therapy without denying their importance.Emmons studied, practices, and writes about other approaches to depression, such as diet, supplements, exercise, Ayurvedic (historical Indian) medicine and the Buddhist psychological/emotional types. This provides a deeper and broader understanding and treatment of depression.A richly woven text.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful tool for regular folk and for professionals
As a mindfulness meditation teacher and a spiritual mentor, I am keeping copies of The Chemistry of Joy in my office. I have already recommended the book to numerous friends and family members. Some of the highlights for me: 1) the gentle, clear way that Dr. Emmons reminds us readers that there are many doors to healing, that it is good to open the door that moves most easily for us first, and that it is often through making one or two adaptations on a number of levels that we begin to experience life as having more comfort to it; 2) the empowerment that comes from having this kind and seasoned psychiatrist steadily reminding us to believe in our deeper self; 3) the way desperation is allayed as one realizes that brain chemistry correlates with two ancient wisdom systems from other parts of the globe- ah, what a balm for the isolation that one can feel on this difficult journey to relieve depression. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
I will make this fast. This was my first Sylvia Browne Book and it had me hooked. I was excited every chance that i got to read it. It opened a few things up about dreams that i've had for years and some i've had as a child. She does not give you direct interpretation of every thing you dream but makes you find your own meaning after all we are all different. Boy some things that she stated hit me pretty hard, how i could have missed that myself. It really helped me see what my mind was telling me subconsciously in my dreams ~ and what i need to do to fix that. Now when people ask me what their dreams mean it's still hard to interpret them but it has become somewhat easier.

4-0 out of 5 stars Well informed book
This is very informative.Makes you take a look at past dreams that you've had. Very intersting about how children dream. Good book.

3-0 out of 5 stars So many dreams so little time!
I bought this book hoping to gain some insight into my dreams because I have had the most vivid sometimes crazy dreams you could possibly imagine.I give this book 3 stars because I was starting to get bored reading it.There was some interesting stuff in the book like totems which are animals in dreams that we have "chosen" as "protectors" because animals are pure spirits and most sacred to God. I had never thought of them that way in dreams before and so this book did make me look at animals and a few other things differently in my dreams. But I started to become bored with all the account stories from other people about the content of their dreams. I found myself skimming alot when another dream was told here and there. I skipped to parts I was most interested in.Some one else might not become bored, as I did, reading other people's dream accounts in the book so that is why I did not give this book less than 3 stars.I did learn a few things and will look for other souces of information on those topics. So my search moves on. I hope this review helps. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars George Anderson is a Master Medium
Mr. Anderson is a superbly grounded medium who understands his delicate part in assisting the bereaved by providing evidential information that proves life after death. All of us have lost someone so closethat we wonder if they are even aware of us anymore or still have that deep love and care that we shared for a lifetime. His messages absolutely prove life beyond now and the closeness discarnate beings feel toward those of us who have been left behind. This book is tremendously comforting to all who have loved and grieved because George proves they are still very much with us!

5-0 out of 5 stars ...A Blessing
I think that in the world there is still some confusion between religion and spirituality. You can be religious, but not spiritual. You can know all the creeds, follow all the dogmas, practice all the rites and passages but if there is no Spirit involved in with what you are doing and practicing, what good is it? I think the main reason why more and more people don't break out of their old religious mindsets is because they have become superstitious about their beliefs. They fear that God might punish them or forsake them or send them to hell for attempting to expand their beliefs.
