3-0 out of 5 stars supernatural indeed!
Since I'm a conventional "sceptic" of the pro-establishment variety, reading and reviewing this book was a real challenge. Graham Hancock is a controversial "alternativist" writer based in Britain, but constantly on the move all around the globe (and beyond?). Real Egyptologists, archeologists and historians usually regard him as pseudo-scientific. Indeed, his books are filled with all the stuff we sceptics just LOVE to hate: hyper-diffusionism, pyramidology, the face on Mars and (surprise) the Illuminati. "Supernatural" is Hancock's latest work. In some ways, it's even crazier than his earlier ones. But in some other ways, it's actually better. Yes, my Satanist friends will be surprised that I of all people said that...
5-0 out of 5 stars But where are the Unicorns?
The premise: Paleolithic man painted some scenes that had no basis in everyday experience. Therefore the models for the paintings came either from his imagination or from hallucinations percieved during trace states. The images depicted are archtypal altered state of consciousness visions that can be reproduced in minds of modern humans. Conclusion: Altered states of consciousness are a gateway to an alternative reality. The notion of "conciousness as receiver" is a fascinating way of interpreting hallucinations. Unfortunately, if one carries that concept to its obvious conclusion, it opens somenew interpretations of disturbed brain biochemistry, including schizophrenia. It's no wonder Hancock expresses an element of fear when he experiments with hallucinogens. Losing ones grip on "reality" is scarey for a reason. I wouldn't mind snapping a photo of the Loch Ness Monster, but keep it out of my swimming pool, please. Is Cryptozoology folklore, or an alternative Safariland? Are all hallucinations "real", or just those that introduce us to aliens and faries?
5-0 out of 5 stars Great
I've read this book twice, I love it. I think it throws more lite on Zecharia Sitchin's series, What I mean is that it could better explain what the Summarians were witnessing! "Forest of Visions" by Alex Polari De Alverga gives Graham more ammo on what he is talking about! I was hoping he would touch on "We,The Arcturians" by Dr. Norma J. Milanovich, It seems to fit right into what is going on in the book "Supernatural"! I've read all of Graham Hancocks books,The Man is not afraid of so called mainline science. "Underworld" was great and made sense! I would put this man right up there with authors like James Mitchner !

5-0 out of 5 stars A Few More Thoughts (more myth debunking)
Ok, As many have pointed out the book doesn't address the problem of towers falling at near-terminal velocity all the way into their own footprint.
1-0 out of 5 stars Open your eyes people!!!
People....Please..Do you honestly think Popular Mechanics can set straight all that is wrong in the world?Who owns Popular Mechanics?Hearst Publications!Who is Hearst Publications?Do they have any connection to our government or any aspects of the government? Can they be COMPLETELY trusted to give factual, unbiased opinion? There are hundreds of unanswered questions regarding the events that took place on Sept. 11th. yet they think they can dispell them in one book?Let's look at just 2 issues shall we.First of all, World Trade 7.Sorry folks, buildings made of steel and reinforced concrete don't just fall down because a building nearby fell down.Fires or no fires this building absolutely just fell like the footings were just removed instantaneoulsy..Buildings that have been subjected to earthquakes and hurricanes see more violent shaking and yet at least some of the building remains intact if not compltetly intact. This building was demolished by explosive charges placed well in advance of Sept. 11th.Why?We may never know but it obviously was to hide something or to use the event to sway public opinion towards war.Secondly, crashed airplanes leave debris.LOTS OF DEBRIS!!!The crash at the pentagon left no signs of a crashed BOEING 757!First of all, have any of you ever seen a Boeing 757 besides in photos???They are a huge, heavy, loaded with flammable jet-fuel, aircraft. You don't crash a jet of that size anywhere without leaving debris. The hole in the side of the pentagon is NOT big enough to be caused by a Boeing 757 and that is the simple truth!A person could drive themselves crazy with all the information out there but the simple fact remains..NO WRECKAGE..NO PLANE and buildings don't just fall by themselves..I am a republican and I voted for BUSH but this whole situation stinks of a government cover up!Does Bush know anything?Doubtful.I've come to realize the man is a complete idiot.Probably why he was elected in the first place. The people in high places needed a patsy and they found him.You gotta love it!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Careful, Logical Look at 9/11 Attacks & Surrounding Hysteria
Debunking 9/11 Myths provides a straightforward, lucid response to many of the far-fetched claims that the hijacked-airliner attacks on September 11, 2001 were somehow perpetrated by elements within the U.S. government.

5-0 out of 5 stars Knowledge is Power , a MUST READ!
Alot of folks love to criticize Bill Cooper. I personally think he was reporting truths from his experiences & information he got his hands on.He claims right up front that some info may not be accurate. He NEVER claims to be 100% accurate, and gives you his sources for the info, not just opinions. He took a stand to expose secret information he felt the public should know.Whether you agree with him or not, you've got to respect the man. He fought to get this book published & ultimately lost his life holding on to that "stand".It's risk-takers like him that gives us knowledge & information to see hidden truths.Thank you & God Bless you, Bill.Rest in Peace.

5-0 out of 5 stars your headed in the right direction...
This book is not for those who wish to continue living their monotonous and stressful lifestyles. This is meant to make you aware and to further draw your own conclusions.Critical thinkers only!!
3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting read! But don't rely on Google to discount this author!
I just want to say that this book allows you to draw your OWN conclusions from information a man was able to provide andbecause of that..i find this book interesting and a good read.As for his death, all deaths that look suspicious are NEVER suspicious. As for going on Google to find out about the "real" Cooper; let it be said that you need to do alot more research on someone than going to Google to take something as FACT! Google is NOT the most reliable source, it is simply what it is; A SOURCE OF INFORMATION. The book is worth the read. Especially the part of the book that speaks about FEMA; any one heard of LA riots, Katrina? He speaks on FEMA's role very candidly and we can use both these instances as to how true he was in this area of his book. But don't base your knowledge or interest on any of our reviews...read the book for yourself and make your own conclusion of an interesting read, ENJOY! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars STARTACHAIN REACTION !
Barrie Zwicker's carefully researched masterpiece is an eye opener for open-minded people with compassionate hearts and bright reasoning that haven't yet been searching for the truth about 9/11. Barrie Zwicker provides convincing evidence that beyond any reasonable doubt the truth about 9/11 is that we don't KNOW the truth about 9/11. And Barrie Zwicker is definitively right to suggest that it is high time to ask elementary questions about the many anomalies in the official story of 9/11, since the American people and the families of those who died on 9/11 deserve the truth that we do not yet know. Therefore it is undeniable that only a truly independent investigation of 9/11 can provide an answer to the crucial question if there was a wider conspiracy (- if this is the case, those responsible for 9/11 should be indicted for treason and complicity in murder and those who covered up these crimes should themselves be indicted as accessories after the fact. On the other hand, if the new investigation finds that the government's current story is essentially correct it would be imperative to assign responsibility for the inconceivable failure of the air defenses to protect the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, since so far nobody of the allegedly "incompetent" people has been fired or demoted or court martialed - shouldn't there be accountability?).
5-0 out of 5 stars Zwicker, Barrie, Towers of Deception: The Media Cover-up of 9/11.
Five years ago and still in the news? This is because the issues are painful and because there is stillso much suffering arising out of the horrific events of September 11, 2001. Much healing has yet to happen. Conspiracy theorists have had a wonderful time with 9/11: 'The CIA did it,' 'It is Reichstag 9/11,' and so on, but if you speak to many Americans in this vein they still respond with pain and then outrage or simply, rage.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent ... a bit over the fantasy side at the end ...
But nevertheless, if correct, a very worth reading. disturbing... I've been reading a lot over these last months on the UFO topic and this book is paramount lecture. Anyway, there is a conclusion, proposed by Greer and some of the witnesses he interviews, stating the UFOS /ET are good beings and USA govt. is provoking them as they shoot them down, harrass them, etc. I digress ! They cannot have good intentions if they intrude our territory, mutilate our animals, abduct people, etc.I think that in drawing such conclusions the book fails in being objective and with common sense. That is why I give it 4 stars only.

5-0 out of 5 stars Disclosure.....5 stars easy!!
Hard to put down, difficult to condemn, almost impossible to ignore!!...Steven Greer has gone where others haven't had the balls, and placed his reputation on the line to bring the truth out...congratulations!! This is a fantastically researched book covering all facets of the U.F.O. phenomenon and a must read for everyone interested in the TRUTH.Whether or not this will be revealed to us in the near future is another matter, but the fact that extraterrestrial intelligence exists is no longer a question,it's just waiting to be proven en masse.Fantastic reading!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Massive, Barely Edited Compendium of Sometimes Tantalizing Stories
Dr. Steven Greer is a well-known figure on the fringe of UFOlogy, and he claims to have "briefed" senior government figures on the UFO issue, but five minutes with this book reveals why few take the issue seriously.

5-0 out of 5 stars Question Everything!
When you venture down the rabbit hole deeper and deeper, exploring all the information you can find about what really happened on September 11, 2001, your concern with the official story of 9/11 should transcend politics, religion, race, and ideology. It should have everything to do with truth, constitutional law, ethics, corruption, deception, blatant disregard for human health and human life, and morality beyond any personal choices most of us will make.
5-0 out of 5 stars History of False Flag operations
Webster Tarpley has been writing exposes for a long time now. His earliest work of note was in the late 70s called "Chi ha ucciso Aldo Moro?" which was on the murder of an Italian Prime minister. He is also known for his studies on the Bush family.
5-0 out of 5 stars Among Hundreds of Books, The Strongest Approach to Truth
It is with great sadness that I conclude that this book is the strongest of the 770+ books I have reviewed here at Amazon, almost all non-fiction.I am forced to conclude that 9/11 was at a minimum allowed to happen as a pretext for war (see my review of Jim Bamford's "Pretext for War"), and I am forced to conclude that there is sufficient evidence to indict (not necessarily convict) Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and others of a neo-conservative neo-Nazi coup d'etat and kick-off of the clash of civilizations (see my review of "Crossing the Rubicon" as well as "State of Denial").Most fascinatingly, the author links Samuel Huntington, author of "Clash of Civilizations" with Leo Strauss, the connecting rod between Nazi fascists and the neo-cons.

2-0 out of 5 stars Overly Opinionated
I'll admit that the official story of the events on September 11 are suspect. But that's all I will conclude. The way the story unfolds in the media and the explanations for it all appear to be hiding some evidence. Why? I don't know, and frankly, after reading the author's very slanted view of events, am even less interested to find out. I was interested in reading the facts and evidence that exist, but his whole book was one big conspiracy theory strung together by edited quotes and simplified facts. And his summary about not fighting the Axis of Good was just over the top. Maybe the truth would only hurt us more than we know. Call me naive and ignorant, but I would rather live my life with a "half full" mentality. I enjoy my life and the choices I am able to make in America and since I have not the power to change the unfortunate events of Sept 11, I'll continue to live my humble life and not waste any more time worrying, fearing, and doubting the catastrophic events of that day. What will that accomplish? What I will continue to do is pay respect and remember the 2,000+ lives that were lost - people I didn't know - but sons, daughters, wives, husbands, friends, moms, etc.

2-0 out of 5 stars Painfully Stupid
Eric Hufschmid believes that Bush and Cheney and the entire government were involved in a large conspiracy to take down the WTC towers and building 7, as well as the Pentagon and another target. To believe this one must not answer the "painful question" of "Is the government's story a cover-up?" but "Is our bumbling and stumbling government capable of pulling this off?"
5-0 out of 5 stars Discern This!
The sins of child molesters, thieves and murderers pale in comparison to the crimes of the Bush family and the Democrats and Republicans who turned their heads on 9/11. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Sasquatch Book Out There
Over the past couple of years, I've read quite a few books on Sasquatch.Of the newer books, "Raincoast Sasquatch" by J.R. Alley was easily the best...until now.I really don't know anything about Alley and I can't say anything about his motivations, but as I read the many other recent books I kept getting this feeling that "Bigfoot is Big business" to quote Jerry Coleman.Indeed it seems that some current "researchers" compile a list of sightings and then proceed to make incredible postulations about all aspects pertinent to Sasquatch and unfortunatley, some even make sweeping generalizations about known animal behavior which are in fact completely untrue.Up until now, there appeared to be a lack of true scientific investigation on behalf of the research community and in many of the recent books there was a general request from these guys for academia to investigate the Sasquatch phenomenon.Well, thanks to Jeff and the other researchers involved, we have a good scientific book to read and enjoy. This book is by far the best of the rest. It's not chock full of sightings, it's not hinging all bets on "Patty", and it's not pursuing the UFO-Bigfoot theory.Thank God!What you do get is good material from footprint examinations by a specialist in bipedal biomechanics, dermatoglyphics, vocalization analysis, some "Patty" discussion, and some statistical analysis. The latter which I find a little problematic.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science
To list everything that is good about this book would require a recitation of virtually everything in it. This is a great book for anyone curious about, or skeptical of, the sasquatch/bigfoot mystery. It provides a clear, rational, science-based examination of the evidence that stands head and shoulders above many of the other books on the subject, and Jeff Meldrum avoids the proselytizing--both pro and con--that characterizes the work of too many other authors in this field. While it is a companion piece to the DVD of the same name, it goes far deeper in its examination of the mystery than time allowed in the show. Bravo!

5-0 out of 5 stars Science at it's best!
I have a collection of over 200 books related to bigfoot.Dr. Meldrum's "Sasquatch:Legend Meets Science" is the most significant book on the subject I have ever read. Finally putting all we know into one cohesive text, Dr. Meldrum addresses the evidence, hoaxes, theories, concepts, and "myths" related to bigfoot in a professional and scientific manner. Significant in the book is the discussion of the Skookum Cast, Patterson/Gimlin film, footprint evidence, and dermatoglyphics.I highly recommend this book as it will be quoted by the bigfoot community for years to come!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
This is a fantastic book. I have been reading Hall and his books are very intelligent and enlightening. I have little doubt that what he writes here is true. I do fear however that this vision of America becoming an enlightened nation has been lost in a cloud of greed. America is now a large corporation where the rest of the world has placed it's stake. Look at our nation, we are now a nation of obese, greedy, lazy, uneducated, and apathetic slobs. We are caught in what I call Celebrity-ism (in wich we idolize and obsess with celeberties and their every move)and drowning in materialism. It is sad really. Maybe one day we will re-awaken to fufill the Secret Destiny of America.

5-0 out of 5 stars A very interesting hypothetical explanation of our creation/evolution?
Sitchin's theories are very interesting. He asserts that we (the human race) may be the result of a genetic engineering project undertaken to breed a race of slaves-supposedly engineered by combining the genetic material of an extraterrestrial race with that of indigenous primates. Fascinating theory. His evidence lies mainly in the interpretation of sumerian cuneiform hieroglyphics. He also does a good job of illustrating the parallels and origin, in and of respectively, all major contemporary religious systems.
5-0 out of 5 stars THE 12TH PLANET
ZECHARIA STICHIN HAS AN ANSWER FOR MOST OF THE HISTORICAL ENIGMA'S THAT HAVE PUZZLED MANKIND TO THIS DAY. HE USUALLY HAS AT LEAST TWO REFRENCES OF WRITTEN HISTORY TO CORABORATE HIS HYPOTISES AND, MUCH OF THE TIMETHE BIBLE MAKES THE THIRD. IT TAKES LIFE, AND THE HISTORY OF US AS HUMAN BEINGS TO A NEW PERSPECTIVE. HIS SIX BOOK SERIES "THE EARTH CHRONICLES" IS OUTSTANDING! A MUST READ FOR FREE THINKERS.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ontology
Z.Sitchin only interprets what he is reading. The "SEMANTICS" of our own Americanized English creates misunderstanding everyday...what does one think writings over 5,000 years will do? Especially, in a language by all accounts that is a dead language. This book gets 7 stars because it challenges the mainstream inexcusable belief system. Most people are spoon fed history never even questioning whether if it can be proven or not. Any "theory" can be invalidated. Since history is filled with supposition and conjecture, how can one embrace what one holds to be truth without empirical evidence? We can believe, think, even guess or for that matter ridicule our way at the truth but in the end we are no more wiser than a scholar who interprets ancients writings. Its a shame that people have to tear this man down using the guise of reviews. I think that Z. Sitchin in earnest pieces together a history that has been scattered. I also believe that the very thought that GOD is not some omnipotent/omniscient intelligence scares the hell out of people. In all fairness these writings are not Hollywood science fictions to be disregarded like some outrageous tabloids we find at the checkout line. These writings are hewn in stone set back in a time when the paradigm of that civilization can now only be understood if not in part by these very tablets. Let me add that I have read this book over 10 years ago and up until now I found no reason to influence or persuade/dissuade anybody but after reading some of the reviews it just seems unjust to let some of these meanderings go without my say on the matter....if this book seems misguided could it possibly be that just maybe the tablets that Z.Sitchin interprets may be what seems misguided. So if one can interpret Sumerian tablets and challenge the validity of Z. Sitchins works based on actual knowledge of the language not disdain of the subject then that would be a fair review. Otherwise...IT IS WHAT IT IS! Too all those who say Prove it...I say Prove that its not true...it cannot be proven or disproved just argued about. I recommend this book to those who are not satisfied with the same old hum drum rhetoric that church and state teach us. I liked this book so much that I bought another one....one more thing I see that the flat earth society still has some members. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Tragic, but possibly therapeutical prose
I've no problem beleiveing that the author was the victim of some horrendous abuse.
2-0 out of 5 stars Project Monarch: The Making of a Modern Myth?
Cathy O'Brien is the alleged "Project Monarch" mind control survivor, co-author Mark Phillips, he says in the foreword, "was able to liberate [Ms O'Brien and her daughter] from the invisible grip of this US government secret weapon of control." An early reference to their case is in the 2nd edition (1994) of Operation Mind Control. Walter Bowart summarises this book in chapter 9, "The Story of O", referring throughout to Ms O'Brien as "O". He states, " Due to the volatile nature of the information contained in her story, I am withholding this victim's identity." Obviously then he thought there was some validity to their case. As for Mr Phillips, Bowart in chapter 11 of OMC describes him as a "respected if controversial figure among researchers" and adds "we can do no harm in repeating the information he offers, especially since it's been confirmed by others." OK. But, one area of curiosity is exactly where the term "Project Monarch" comes from. Nowhere in Trance Formation of America is this answered. So did Phillips just make it up?

5-0 out of 5 stars What the Bleep in book form
McTaggart brings together many of the scientific discoveries of the 20/21st century that don't fit neatly into the box, and drive the editors of peer reviewed journals to their Pepto Bismol. Quantum physicists around the world are embarrassing their colleagues with such suggestions that the quantum field, or zero point field, is a quantum soup that connects all of us, enabling shared thoughts, dreams, clairvoyance, remote viewing, dream influencing, mental influencing of random number generators and the potential of an untapped energy that science has only dreamed of.
5-0 out of 5 stars This book brings it all together
I suggest prerequisite readings to anyone who really wants to get the most out of this extremely well written book. You need to understand the basics of quantum mechanics. For that, first read Gary Zukav's masterpiece "The Dancing Wu Li Masters" followed by Fritov Capra's "The Tao of Physics."The latter covers the same basic principles but from a perspective that adds to overall understanding.Follow these with Amit Goswami's masterpiece, "Physics of the Soul."All three books are written for laypeople. You really need to understand quantum physics for yourself to believe it's incredible implications which McTaggert discusses so well.On the other hand, if you read "The Field" with no understanding of QP, you might not appreciate how very "real" are the amazing things discussed in this book.Castaneda fans will instantly realize that Carlos "knew" regardless of whether or not Don Juan was real.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Field:

Editorial Review

Carl Sagan muses on the current state of scientific thought, whichoffers him marvelous opportunities to entertain us with his own childhoodexperiences, the newspaper morgues, UFO stories, and the assorted flotsam and jetsam of pseudoscience.Along the way he debunks alien abduction, faith-healing, and channeling; refutes the arguments that science destroys spirituality, and provides a "baloney detection kit" for thinking through political, social, religious, and other issues. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Shining a Much-Needed Light
This book is, by far, one of the best explications of the spirit of scientific inquiry I've ever encountered. Sagan's earnest respect for science and clear appreciation of the natural world shine through his clear prose. Although a large part of this book is dedicated to reconciling paranormal claims with the reality of a non-paranormal world, Sagan's attitude never comes across as overly forceful or belittling. While he proposes alternate explanations for such phenomena as alien abductions, ghosts, and psychics, he always does so via pointed questions rather than shouted conclusions. His questions force the reader to think for him or herself, whether they be believers in the supernatural or not.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sagan's 'Candle' needed now more than ever
Published just 10 years ago, not too long before his untimely death at the age of 62, Dr. Carl Sagan's "The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark" is a brilliant defense of science in the face of irrationality and superstition.
5-0 out of 5 stars The
This is hands down the best non-fiction book I have ever read. This book has guided my thinking and opened my eyes to how we as humans can easily delude ourselves.Carl Sagan was not only a great popularizer of science and scientific inquiry, he was a visionary with and his words and admonitions are prophetic as we look at the world around us today.
