1-0 out of 5 stars PLEASE
Lol, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, the cult leader, a huxter, nothing close to a scholar, is teaching us about Christianity now lol? Lame.

5-0 out of 5 stars CHRISTOPHER R GAIZAT
I haven't read this book FALLEN ANGELS AND THE ORIGINS OF EVIL but I have read the one star review of the book by CHRISTOPHER R GAIZAT and it was funny. The review begins with him complaining about a cigarette burn hole in one of the pages of his book (NICE ONE). I think that kind of comment was for the seller and not the review. It made me laugh thinking of Christopher opening his book and finding the cigarette burn hole. Why do I find it so funny? Why am I laughing about it even as I type this? What are the answers? I can only ponder these questions and hope that enlightenment befalls my mind which is hungry for the knowledge and understanding of why Christopher R. Gaizat got a copy of this book with a cigarette burn hole (NICE ONE) in one of the pages.

5-0 out of 5 stars Remains of Giants Found
If you do a search on giants you will see for yourself that giants really walked upon this earth. The bones of the giants have been found all over. In the mountains of West Virginia, many have been uncovered. You can find that particular page on the Steve Quayle Q files website.

5-0 out of 5 stars Practical and Honest
I bought this book on a whim after seeing it in our youth minister's office. I knew my prayer life was fizzling, largely due to the non-stop speed of my schedule, so I stuck it in my purse to read... on the go. What I really appreciated about this book is that it's not filled with pious, over-used Christian catch phrases and fluffy, vague proclamations of reverence. Hybels works within the realm of God's reality. Furthermore, while I never think God should be reduced to formulas, the practical structure Hybels suggests is so helpful in nurturing a relationship with the one who keeps Jupiter spinning. At a few points he suggests writing out prayers, which I found works extremely well for me as this is how I best express myself. I resent the fact that some may disregard the value of this book because of it's "simplicity." I believe it is practical and to the point, something everyday people can work with. And I don't remember religious scholarship ever being a requirement to come before God, where we are only children.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent beginner resource
We used this as a church-wide study. Most folks loved it.It's really a great resource for folks who do not have much of an understanding of prayer than asking God for what I want.I found it perfect for that kind of person. It's not heavy on the psychology or complexity of prayer, but gives an excellent introduction into prayers of silence and listening.Great for a broad audience.

5-0 out of 5 stars very good!!
Tired of your self???????? Read this and get harshly jolted awake, you will never be the same(thank goodness)

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, it technically is logically inconsistant, but that's OK
It's true and important to understand that De Mello often communicates through contradiction. For instance, he tells us "The only way someone can be of help to you is in challenging your ideas." (Awareness pg. 35) No doubt, all of us can think of countless other ways and specific situations in which someone could be of help to us in a way other than by "challenging our ideas". However, this is a style De Mello has intentionally chosen in order to battle the sea of misconceptions that he sees over flooding our society. Rather than go through the semantic hoops that are technically necessary in order to make the subtle distinctions that he is after, De Mello chooses to "shock the truth out of us". He says things that are not intended to be completely accurate, and are sometimes even logically inconsistent, but rather contradict our culture's common assumptions, forcing us to either totally dismiss what he says or, if we read with an open mind, to consciously think about the point that De Mello is trying to communicate.
5-0 out of 5 stars the good from
the good from many religions, yet easy to read, creates a new understanding. I didn't know about this Fr. DeMello until a reading assignment, and now I have read most of his 9 books. Sermon on the Mount, this one deserves several readings. MAL ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A truly radiant gem
This book appears to be a compilation of Gangaji's previous works, mass-produced for a wider audience. For those unfamiliar with Gangaji or what she teaches, this book is by far the best introduction and the most comprehensive. Each chapter draws on material from her satsangs and spiritual retreats.I would heartily recommend it to those who want to end their spiritual journey.Unlike other "spiritual" books, there are no techniques to practice or any new philosophies to learn. What it does provide is confirmation of, and endless support for one's discovery of Self. This book is truly a radiant gift to the universe.

5-0 out of 5 stars Personal and World Peace
Gangaji, through the medium of discourse, presents the simple, but not easy, way to self-awareness, to inner peace. Those open to this uncovering will savor and assimilate her words; those who are not, will put the book aside until the time is right for them. This is a book about love, the love of self that engenders love of others, and thereby renders war ineffective and irrelevant.
5-0 out of 5 stars A diamond that cuts...
This is not a feel good book. It's a book for those who relentlessly desire the truth. And as the book so simply and eloquently states, that truth is not contained in thoughts, ideas and beliefs. It's contained in the knowingness that you are, prior to any story about who you are or ideas about who you are. It's in the simple beingness of being.

Editorial Review

Within the pages of this plainspoken Bible, young readers will find a year's worth of teen-written devotionals, one for every day of the work week. For example, in the opening section on Genesis, teens will find a shaded box for Monday's devotional, asking the reader what it means to be made in God's image. "Do you ever put yourself down for the way you look? What are you saying to God when you put down what he made?" Little boxes of text are inserted throughout the Scripture, where teens either suggest devotionals or discuss themes in the Bible. In another box, teens comment on the relationship between Adam and Eve: "The 'two becoming one' thing involves a lot more than sex. It involves two lives becoming one--two stories becoming one."The language, graphics, and frank discussion in this teen-oriented Bible make it a great resource for youth groups. It also makes a loving gift for teenagers who need help understanding how the Bible translates into the stressful world of adolescence. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "One of the five best books to leave with your Christian teenager...."

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Cool Bible for Teens!!!
I ordered this Bible for my daughter. She and another girl in her youth group here in Sweden (we are Americans serving over seas) shared it with some of the other girls and it has actually become top of the other girls wish lists for their birthdays! It has practical stories the girls can relate to and thought provoking questions that are appropriately worded.Other bibles I have looked at sometimes discuss things in ways that I would prefer talking to my daughter about. This uses the Word only!Great Word of God!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent devotional bible
This is an excellent devotional Bible. The first reviewer who doesn't like the Bible because it condemns witchcraft is completely ignorant of New Testament Greek, and seems to dislike anything that cramps their lifestyle or beliefs. The NIV is an excellent translation based on the oldest and best manuscripts and translatedby people who actually know Greek, and don't use alternate definitions that don't reflect the true text in order to make things that are condemned by the Bible seem accaptable. If you want your kids to learn what the Bible says, and not what a Wiccan wants it to say, this is a great devotional Bible. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Helpful Leadership Quotes
A book of over 75 quotes, Ken Blanchard records some of his favorite quotes and then briefly expounds on the main point of the quote.Numerous authors, famous historical figures and leadership experts such as Abraham Lincoln, Don Shula and Norman Vincent Peale are quoted in this book.Very readable and full of great advice on leadership, The Heart of a Leader is concise yet practically helpful. The author is a respected author on leadership, and so this book is appreciated as a good summary of Blancahrd's convictions and insights on leadership.I personally appreciated reading two or three quotes every day for about two months. Some quotes were obvious; some were silly but most were helpful and required thought and reflection. The style made for an easy read; it didn't require a large time commitment to glean the content of the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars ExcellentCrystals Book
This is the best book I have read regarding crystals and gemstones. It is well illustrated and highly informative.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good but not great.
I have found so far that the descriptions of what each type of stone does is fairly accurate. I got a nice small pyrite speciman on eBay and mediatated with it and had the most amazing revelation of the inner beauty and purity of ME and then looked up pyrite and sure enough, it said that it helps build self confidence and channels and manifests higher spiritual vibrations. It was such a beautiful meditation that I cried a little, and have twice since had the same incredible experience with it. It is healing me at a spiritual level and this book sort of describes this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Provides a Wonderful, New Perspective
This second Conversations With God book is amazing!I found that it pushed me to the edge of my thoughts, ideas & comfort zones - providing me with a foundation from which to question myself about how I really thought the world was doing, and more personally, how I thought I was really doing. It also brought to the forefront our personal & collective responsibility in creating the "individual" lives we lead, as well as the way our societies, countries & world create - as what we create, we experience - that is our free will.
3-0 out of 5 stars Still have questions to be asked but some answered
This book takes off where the book one ended. The author is convinced that he is having a conversation with God. If you don't believe in God or are a fundamentalist Christian, don't read this book. If you read it thoroughly, you will begin to understand God better and know that he is loving, kind, compassionate, forgiving, etc. All those good things that we don't hear in an unforgiving, greedy, sex-obsessed world today. I was unsatisfied with God's answers on sexuality. I think God doesn't want sexuality to be exploited or misused by us but we do anyway. Sex without love is nothing more than something to do. Love with sex can be a beautiful thing between two people regardless of their gender. I don't think God cared about that as much as we do. He wants us to love each other not just physically but emotionally as well. THere are lot of relationships based purely on sexuality that when the sex isn't acted out, the relationship can't work together. If you can't hold a conversation with your partner, do you really think this person is the right one? We need to listen to God more. We need to stop thinking of ourselves and see the whole picture of the world around us. I'm glad that the book reinforces my belief that we never die and that we return over and over again to suffer in life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
"Conversations with God, Book 2" is a great, mind opening book. I learned a lot, and enjoyed reading it. The dialogue is interesting and beneficial for everyone. I loved the first book, and I love this one too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Live Lectures You'll Want to Listen To
Dr. Dyer brings wonderful, life affirming truth in this companion 6 volume CD set to his book "The Power of Intention."
5-0 out of 5 stars Great brain food
I try to choose what I allow into my mind carefully. I try to avoid all negative, fearbased, conversation, TV, radio, or print. I look at my past and learn, I also learn from personal development material, and take direction from alot of different teachers. Common denominators start to appear as I learn from these great thinkers. I see these laws of success, joy, contentment, purpose, etc; apear over and over again. I see them again here in Dr. Dyer's work. But this is not just another writing. Clearly this is Dr. Dyer's evolving journy and wisdom coming to be. Another step forward. The deflation of ego, and the beleif that all is energy and all energy comes from one source, amazing. I love listening to this at night before bed, just great brain food. Personal development is a big part of my life. Remain teachable and positive, and life will be rewarding.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the BEST
I cannot say enough good things about Wright's ability to write simply, with no big words, yet maintain deep theological and historical insight into the Scripture. His interpretations and ability to follow through with the gospel's on thought are unmatched in scholarship.
5-0 out of 5 stars Deep theology appropriately dosed for daily use
NT Wright is a scholarly academic and a highly relevant one at that. So it is a treat when he puts on his devotional hat and uses his more informal name of Tom Wright to write Luke for Everyone, he brings deep insight to wherever the gospel story takes you that day in a way that you feel you can appropriate it into your life.

2-0 out of 5 stars Little content, lots of cliche
I really enjoyed "The Purpose Driven Life," so I was excited when I found out that our small group would be going through this other Rick Warren book.
5-0 out of 5 stars Very motivational
This is a very good book by Rick Warren. This book is for people who are tired of trying to change their lifes on their own steam. This book is about using the power that God has given us to turn our lives from stressful to peaceful. It is about getting the best quality out of life. It motivates to reader to make the right choices to live the best life they possibly can. I was very motivated after this people and I know very many people who have read it after I gave it to them to read who were inspired to change their lives and who actually did it. They didn't pick up their lives on their own strength though. They learned to rely on Gods strength to lift them up and change them. It is a very good read.

4-0 out of 5 stars Really Great Book
If you want to know the history of your parents or grand parents on a more personal level this is a great book to have. It would be nice to have a CD included to type on the computer, because not everyone has the best hand writing

2-0 out of 5 stars Book ?'s Too Focused on Emotional Rather Than Factual Data
I bought this book for my 62-year-old mother and my 95-year-old great-aunt to fill out so that I could keep a written document of their memories. Both separately told me the same thing - that the book asked far too personal of questions. Neither was willing to fill it out.It asked questions about their feelings about their childhood, feelings about marriage, etc.I had not wanted to record their feelings, but rather more historical type of data such as the cost of bread, the local scenery when it was all orchards, etc.If the book were full of more factually-based questions as opposed to emotionally-based, it would be more suitable.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Way to Preserve Memories
My grandparents are elderly. One evening my grandfather was recounting an interesting story about his father that we had never heard before - it suddenly dawned on me that there may be many more wonderful stories that we may never hear.I searched and searched for a journal or diary that they could use to preserve these memories and stumbled across this Journal.First of all it is a beautiful hard-bound book - truly a keepsake.Inside is is divided into logical sections and provides a good mix of questions as well as space for additional thoughts, pictures or memories.I really liked that it had questions that covered all parts of my grandparents lives (i.e. growing up, high school, college, military etc) - they don't have to fill out every section - but at least it gives them some guidance.I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in preserving their family history.A beautiful gift. ... This book was required reading for my Bachelor's Degree at the Midwest Bible College of Milwaukee and it changed my life.I can't stop witnessing to others on the subject of Total Forgiveness. This book does an excellent job of explaining the subject and the concequences of unforgiveness.I often recommend this book to others. It's so awesome to be set free, like I was after I read this book, from the "chain" of the enemy's secret weapon, unforgiveness.Read this book, totally forgive and be set free!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Wonderful
I just bought my second copy of this wonderful piece. I bought the first one for my brother. See, my brother and I are very close and I danced with him to this song on my wedding day. Everytime I hear it I'm reminded of that special day and the bond that me and my brother have formed throughout our lives. But, I didn't have a copy for myself. Now I do. I'm proud of my brother for all he has accomplished in life. I just don't want him to forget the importance of other things too. This is a great buy and a must have.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Christian Response
I appreciate parts of this book, but want all to know that it is not Christian. It properly calls us to marvel at nature, to go on in spite of tragedy, and to fully participate in life(I hope you dance!); but it does not give the basis for these, which is the existence of a good, loving, redeeming Creator.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not for your 'Sunday Christian'
This book is excellent. It is not intended to be merely a 'fascinating study,' but to dispel the myths behind spiritual warfare. But if your approach is to earnestly learn about the Enemy, you shall be blessed. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Dallas Willard, an acclaimed theologian and professor of philosophy at the University of Southern California, fulfills the longing of many Christians who want to live as true disciples of Christ rather than distant dabblers. Likewise, he scoffs at consumer Christians who are simply banking on admittance to heaven as their payoff for attending church. Or worse still, those who use Christianity to advance their political agendas rather than their spiritual ones. But this is not a scolding book. Rather, Willard devotes his efforts to discussing specific and inspiring ways to develop a discipleship to Jesus--not as an act of sacrifice or even one of spiritual luxury--instead, as everyday people committed to the teachings of Christ. "The really good news for Christians is that Jesus is now taking students in the master class of life," writes Willard. "So the message of and about him is specifically a gospel for our life now, not just for dying. It is about living now as his apprentices in kingdom living, not just as consumers of his merits." 4-0 out of 5 stars Hidden Gems
This is my second attempt to read a Dallas Willard book. This is my first successful completion of a Dallas Willard book!He has a dense, dry reading style that is difficult to plow through. But I could see as I was reading this book that there were spiritual gems to be found throughout, so I plugged away through it.It took me about six months to finish this 400-page book, but I'm glad I made the effort.(Six months because I had to find times where I was in the right alert, diligent state of mind to read it.) 3-0 out of 5 stars Missing the mark
In this book Dallas Willard presents the life of the Christian as a disciple of Jesus. He attempts to mediate between evangelical and liberal perspectives and provide an approach to the Christian life brings out what both perspectives have missed. While containing occasionally nuggets, this book (from my perspective) misses the mark at several points.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Book, Bar None, I Have Ever Read
This is a life changing book, not one meant to be a quick read, but rather, one to be read bit by bit, and then mulled over. It brings to life the Sermon on the Mount, explains so very well the kingdom of God and its characteristics. As I read this book, I began to understand God's overall plan for humankind in a new way, and I have begun to live accordingly.
