5-0 out of 5 stars Practical Advice for Managing One's Thought Processes
Joyce Meyer believes that faulty behavior stems from faulty thinking. She warns against mistaking inconveniences for trials (p. 231), and reminds us that problems defeat us when we think that they are bigger than God (p. 240). We must remember that we will always have problems in this world because the Lord Himself told us that "In the world you have tribulation..." If we wait to have the right attitude once there is nothing around us to worry about, that moment will never come (p. 127).
5-0 out of 5 stars Renewing your mind
This book is one of the most enlightening and life changing books I've ever read. The spirit of the Lord was really working thru Joyce Meyer as she penned this book. She gives her testimony as she teaches biblicial prinicples, in order to live a Victorious Christian Life. I encourage you to purchase this book right now and read it. I will richly bless you life.

3-0 out of 5 stars DEPRESSING EVEN TO A CHRISTIAN
If true, this book is totally depressing, even for a Christian. If children don't go to Hell, wouldn't it be better to die as a child? Better still, why bother having children at all? If there was the slightest chance any of my kids would wind up in Hell I would rather have none. In fact it would be better if the entire planet would stop having children and let the human race become extinct. It also sounds like the demons are having a relatively good deal in Hell. If being burnt alive is just punishment, does that mean because of having the bad luck to be born into the wrong faith, and you just don't "get it" about Jesus, He will sentence you to cook alive? Did all the people who were tortured, used for medical experiments, put into ovens during the Holocaust, wind up up in Hell? Was Hitler's ghastly genocide just a precursor to what God is going to do to people? If so, then why was Hitler stopped? After all, these non-Christians were getting their just reward ( in advance of course ). How come the apostles didn't make the awfulness of Hell one of their primary reasons for becoming Christian? I don't see the apostle Paul screaming at people to avoid this awful place.( Of course he didn't seem to give Christmas presents either ). God is Love, and not willing that any should perish ( or so it is written ). what do YOU think aboutGod, Jesus, Holy Spirit looking down on people being tortured? God have mercy on us all, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

5-0 out of 5 stars CHRISTOPHER R GAIZAT
I haven't read this book FALLEN ANGELS AND THE ORIGINS OF EVIL but I have read the one star review of the book by CHRISTOPHER R GAIZAT and it was funny. The review begins with him complaining about a cigarette burn hole in one of the pages of his book (NICE ONE). I think that kind of comment was for the seller and not the review. It made me laugh thinking of Christopher opening his book and finding the cigarette burn hole. Why do I find it so funny? Why am I laughing about it even as I type this? What are the answers? I can only ponder these questions and hope that enlightenment befalls my mind which is hungry for the knowledge and understanding of why Christopher R. Gaizat got a copy of this book with a cigarette burn hole (NICE ONE) in one of the pages.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally Free
Many thanks to Neil Anderson and his book, The Bondage Breaker. I was in bondage to food for over 50 years, until this book set me free. Satan is very skillful in finding our weaknesses and creating havoc for us. The Bondage Breaker helped me to remember that Christ died for my sins, so I could finally be free. I have stopped believing all of the lies and started living again.I also lost 50 lbs. in the process. I would recommend this book to anyone suffering from any type of bondage. As Neil promises, "Take all thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ Jesus and the truth will make you free."

5-0 out of 5 stars Neil T. Anderson is as pure as pure gets!
This book is very helpful and inciteful. I was able to understand that I was not along with things that I was suffering. Jesus came to set us free. Free from what? Why did the Bible say that? We were all under Satans power. Why would we not have something that we need to be set free from? Don't let pride keep you from reading this book. Everyone can benifit from it. Even if you are a mature believer, you will be surprised at the change it can help make in your life. Be willing, open and honest - Jesus will set you free. Jesus is the deliver. Neil is a servent. He helps guide you into deeper understanding of who we are in Christ, and what has to change. Read it alone with the Lord, or have another Christian read along with you. Anyone who has not read this book is missing out. I read through the Victory over Darkness 1st. And this one, it has made a change in me. Thank you Jesus!Bless the buyer! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Interesting, concise and informative
Writing from a Biblically conservative viewpoint, Chip Ingram uses a combination of his personal experience as a pastor and his academic training to develop the modern day application of the Roman armor metaphor used by Paul in his letter to the Ephesian church. The writing style is engaging, the handling of scripture careful, and the application highly relevant. He handles the subject of spiritual warfare with a serious respect for its reality but avoids any excess of sensationalism. Highly recommended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool for understanding spiritual warfare
Chip Ingram has given us a great resource in this book.He gives us a very balanced and scriptural look at the reality of the invisible war that we are all in.He does a great job of using God's Word combined with his own experiences to help us understand how Ephesians 6 applies to our daily lives. As a preacher and teacher, something I found especially helpful are the outlines that he gives at the beginning of each section. This not only lets you know where he's going, but it's also very useful in teaching the material to others.I definitely recommend this tool to help Christians develop a solid understanding of spiritual warfare.

5-0 out of 5 stars Standing & Having Done All, Stand
I found that Chip Ingram presented the material in a manner that is both succinct and informative. In the same matter-of-fact style as Derek Prince's, "Spiritual Warfare" book, Chip takes that material further and clarifies the metaphors used by Paul of each of the pieces of armor. Those who are trying to equip new believers will find this an excellent book for either a "textbook" or as a "teaching manual".I highly recommend it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wow - An eye opener that increased my confidence
This book really brought me a lot of confidence with regard to spiritual warefare, as it clearly explains boundaries that the Lord gives us.John Paul Jackson did a great job of highlighting the "do's and dont's" in a positive, uplifting way that tells it straight, and I found myself filled with more faith to ask God to move and for his will to be done.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thank you Jesus For This Book !
After engaging in Spiritual Warfare, I was at an all time low.The enemies attack was so oppresive.I received this book in the mail from a friend that I had not spoken to in over a year. The Lord told her to order it for me and had it mailed to my address.I read the 1st four chapters and then got my face down on the kitchen floor.I then repented of the sins that I had committed in warfare unknowingly.Instantly the oppression that was so horrible was lifted.I had previously suffered for several weeks in torment.Thank you Jesus !It could have been much worse and I pray that I have learned a valuable lesson.Praise the Lord !

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good guide on spiritual warfare
Kay Arthur deftly tackles a topic that not all churches and ministers will discuss: spiritual warfare. That this warfare is all around us, in many of the day-to-day situations we face, is a fact, and Arthur draws constantly and completely from Scripture to arm her reader for battle. The book, which is designed to be an 11-week study but can be read at your own pace, offers daily readings. Most days require the reader to look up and examine more closely specific Scriptural verses. Arthur does a good job of digging into the "evidence" in God's Word for points that she makes; everything is adequately supported in Scripture. What we found most interesting were the real-life stories she quotes from people she's known. Some are rather disturbing, but we must open our eyes to them.

5-0 out of 5 stars A place for warriors in the body of Christ
Ms. Arthur is an anointed teacher who is helping this reader discover the "Battle," who is battling whom, why there is a battle, and the armor Jesus left for us to gird ourselves with to effectively fight the oneJesus defeated on the Cross. Satan's deceptions and weapons seemed muchstronger, much more fearful before I entered this thought-provoking biblestudy that is leading me step-by-step to a realization of just what Jesushas already done for us. Ms. Arthur's teaching insist's the student think, yet offers steady help along the way as she builds upon knowledge gainedchapter by chapter. If you're ready to work at acquiring the know-how tofind life beyond circumstance and above defeat while learning more aboutscriptures to use the way Jesus defeated Satan during His temptations, thisBible Study re: warfare is for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Thought Provoking -- Helps Develop One's Insights
Kay Arthur truly has a heart for God.And He has blessed her (and us) by creating within her heart a love for us members of Christ's body.Through that love, she has developed a wonderful guide that teachs us how to searchthe scriptures for answers.Furthermore, rather than present a list of herown personal interpretations, she presents scriptures, asks us questionsabout them, and advises us to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit while westruggle with the questions. So it is really the Holy Spirit who teachsus. But Kay provides the vehicle for the planned trip.I highly recommendthis book to anyone who wants to learn how to "be strong in theLord" so that they may be able to "stand firm in the evilday". 4-0 out of 5 stars Humility, holiness & purity of heart is needed to overcome...
A good overview of the Jezebel spirit to assist pastors, prophets, intercessors and all lay people in identifying and dealing with this ubiquitous and insidious problem of Church life. The Jezebel spirit rebels, controls and manipulates, often veiling hidden ambition under a religious garb, and operates in a variety of methods from intimidation to sexual manipulation to blatant witchcraft. Many people might identify this spirit also exerting its malignant influence outside church in diverse arenas of life such as in workplaces and politics at every level. John Paul Jackson gives examples where pastors or churches have been destroyed by the effect of a single person operating in this spirit. "No Church is too great, too pure or too healthy to be exempted from a Jezebel spirit", and hence this book is a warning and an exhortation to all - to walk in deep interior humility and to continuously examine and purify one's own intentions - while remaining on guard and recognizing attacks from without. It's also a useful manual on how to deal with the problem and those affected by this spirit.

I think everyone should read this book, it not only applies to christians, but to human nature in general, and we need to recognize this spirit in us/all before it takes over us.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Book ever....
I can't begin to tell you how this book open's one's eye's to life here on earth.. Backed by scripture our battle here is quite the tedious one we are constantly at war with satan and most of the time we arn't even aware of it..It sure has brought me closer not only to God but to the understanding of our lives here as humans..God sure is an awesome God!This book is very worth buying and it is a keeper..

3-0 out of 5 stars Asserts Demonization of Christians
The author acknowledges that God had placed three levels of protection around Christians (the hedge, the angels, and the shield of faith) to protect us. One of the main themes of this book is that this protection can be breached and Christians can be demonized (i.e., controlled internally by demons) under what is considered unusual circumstances of sin: "Under unusual circumstances of sin, true believers can become demonized" (p. 437). Anger, bitterness, rage, rejection, child abuse, exposure to the occult, and sexual sins are listed amongst the unusual circumstances that lead to Christians being internally invaded. I am not clear where this is taught in Scripture. However, the author does acknowledge the non-demonic origin of mental illness including depression; he also states that only the emotionally and spiritually healthy believers will be able to deflect the arrows of the devil (Eph. 6) - that is, not be the victims of demonization . Does that mean that God abandons us at our weakness moments - when our emotional and our spiritual health is less than healthy? Does the internal presence of the Holy Spirit who is greater than he who is in the world no longer protect us? Anyone who has read this book should also read a dissenting evangelical perspective (e.g., The Stronghold of Grace) and come to their own conclusions.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for true Christians!
This book studies in depth all the relevant topics about spiritual warfare; it focuses on the importance of becoming more sanctified and more obedient to Jesus. This book is not for a new convert because it requires come previous knowledge on the faith in general before moving to a more complicated topic as this one, i recommend this book especially for people in ministry. Pray before reading and read it with an open mind.

3-0 out of 5 stars Can We Fight the Hype?
A word of advice: If you plan on reading Francis Frangipane's This Day We Fight, do so with your Bible open and by your side.
3-0 out of 5 stars Breaking the Bonds of Eschatology
I enjoyed this book, the only one I've read by this author. In it he reveals that he believes we are in (or very near) the Last Days, when evil will increase, the AntiChrist will arise, and we will be avoiding the Mark of the Beast and the Great Tribulation, i.e the author is a thorough premillennialist. He notes that many of his fellow believers are discouraged by the attitude, "Why fight when we know we are destined to lose?"What I found most interesting is that he argues in this book that we must fight vigorously against evil, in spite of this apparently pessimistic eschatology.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent! A must-read for all Christians
This is an excellent book for every Christian who has something to pray about. In other words, this book is for everyone! In this day of war, terrorists, drugs, crime and immorality, one can easily become overwhelmed by the abundance of prayer needs. We have unsaved loved ones, family members who are living in blatant sin -- the circle of our world grows larger and larger as we think about our local church family, the town we live in, our country and the world at large. How much impact can one person have against the battles of this day and age? Francis Frangipane reminds us of the authority we have in Christ! The biblical truths presented in this book, This Day We Fight!, will both encourage and empower you to persevere in your fight against the realms of darkness.

5-0 out of 5 stars People Get Ready
This is an awesome book.I don't agree that he applies everything to demons. He is very clear that we need to ask for discernment as to the cause of the person's affliction, whether it is spiritual or not.We are entering a time of warfare, and we had better get ready to fight the enemy.Demons most certainly exist, and they would love to make us believe that we are subject to their oppression with no way out.Read this and see the power that is there for each who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, the authority that has been given to us.This book also made me take a hard look at myself, and I have to say the Holy Spirit has done some amazing things in me since reading it.If you are open to the renewing of your mind, than this is a really great start.

1-0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK AND ALL LIKE IT ARE WITCHCRAFT!!
This is neither biblically sound or credible.Jesus didn't converse with demons, He simply rebuked them and said "be quiet and come out of him/her".He did not communicate with demons "for what communion has light with darkness."Prov. 16:27 says "an ungodly man digs up evil, and it is on his lips like a burning fire", that's what's being done in these kinds of books.Naming and talking to demons is sorcery (calling forth evil spirits; incantations to evil spirits; communing with evil spirits).2 Cor. 6:15 says "And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?"There's much more in the Bible about this kind of foolishness.I'd suggest spending some quality time reading the Bible and putting on the full armor of God, instead of reading books by these self-styled deliverers, it could be dangerous to someone attempting this.If you don't think so read Acts 19:9-19.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Truth Shall Set You Free
Derek was a servant of the Lord and he continues to serve even in death through his books and audio tapes.I have read scores of books on this topic and this ranks up there with the best of them.As the words of Amazing Grace go,"I once was blind but now I see", this book will open the eyes of ignorant Christians to the reality of our world and help them fight the enemy and live a more godly life.I praise God that my eyes are open now and through encouragement given by Derek and others, am boldly teaching the truth to others.Thank you Derek for your good works in ministry and education. There is no doubt it was totally inspired by the Holy Spirit to further the Lord's kingdom.Take the time to reference the scriptures cited in the book and you will grow in your understanding of God's word and know the truth about the enemy we face. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars If You "get this info", you're ready for the "Perenial Philosophy"
If this resonates with your intellect, but you don't like the "slams" against Masonry,a very good moral philosophy, you're ready for the Universal truths.Dr. Steven Greer's latest book on remote viewing, meditation and Oneness will help greatly or any version of the Perenial Philosophy. Also Manley Hall's Secret Teachings of All Ages has all the truths you'll ever need and more. Thanks for someone being open here in this book with the stuff they don't want to talk about much here in Mormonism. . . . and, don't get me wrong, I care for plenty of these people deeply, but this "brainwashing" stuff they do on them is just too much. . . such an aberation of universal truths into something supposedly "so exclusive" that is meant to be for everyone freely and with no "strings" attached. . .

3-0 out of 5 stars THE WEIRD MORMON PARADOX
After many years of studying the Mormon church, attending some of its services, knowing its people and rejecting the entire concept I think I know the problem with it: it's too much of a paradox. If you take the Methodists or Baptists or Catholics you have a mishmash of ideas and behaviors and they're not that exciting. In those churches, can you imagine being called into an office for a discussion of your CONDUCT?? To be told what might happen to you if it continues?? Of course not. But with the Mormons you have incredible discrepencies that keep them talked about. What do I mean. Well, you take any small town with a high mormon population (like Mesa, Az and Loveland, CO)and what do you see? Spotless cars, immaculate yards, well mannered children, clean cut teenagers, non drinkers. But, what puzzles people and gets their attention is the Huge Business Conglomerate of the leadership. The Arrogance of the "Twelve Apostles" on television. The popularity of Prozac amongst the women. The exhaustion of the home teachers. The guilt of the teens. The end of year check you write them based on your income for the past year!!! The constant pressure to have huge families. The behaviors of the founders that are debated ad nauseum like Joseph Smith's fondness for alcohol, the church's denial that Brigham Young had That Many wives, the ever changing explanation for how the so called Golden Plates came into existence and translation, the "courts" you must attend if you're found to have done something against the church (like talk too much about it in a negative manner), the Mountain Meadows Massacre--I could go on and on. I had treated the missionaries like Gods in my home for weeks. But the last time they came over they brought their Bishop with them and threatened me with, "I'm warning you: you're playing WITH FIRE." And here I had given them my birthday money from my mother, knowing their awful living conditions. I thought we were friends. And yes, if you have casual friends who are members and think you MIGHT become a member they're very friendly. But when they find out you are Not being baptized you get this big chill. Do Methodists and Catholics act like that? Do they come to your home with lessons? Send you letters?
4-0 out of 5 stars Thorough!
This book is thorough, almost to a fault. Each section contains info covered in previous sections. This, however, has value in that each section is a small book that could be read for detailed information about each topic.About me:My ancestors were some of the first people into the Salt Lake Valley with Brigham Young. My mother was the middle child of family of 16 kids raised in a small farming town outside of Salt Lake City. They were so poor that they slept 5-6 kids to a bed and didn't have adequate clothing or other resources for the family. However, in keeping with church beliefs my grandmother continued to have children. My mother remembers her childhood as a nightmare of hard work on the farm beginning when she was 3 yrs. old, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. She sent me and my siblings to church despite her own decision to not participate. While reading this book I had many dreams about this Mormon doctrination and the confusion I felt as a child. I left the church as a young adolescent when I was shamed for being attracted to boys.I requested that my name be removed from church rolls when Sonya Johnson was ex-communicated for her stand on the ERA.For many years, even without leaving forwarding addresses, I would have missionaries show up on my door step, knowing my name & personal information, and asking to bring me back into the church.Talk about persistence! Although I am now middle aged I still feel some confusion and guilt about the possiblity that I am wrong in thinking the church is not right.I have read many books about the Mormon religion in an attempt to understand my own experience and to understand the extended and immediate family I came from. This book was helpful to me in affirming that the Mormon religion is a cult.I would also recommend Martha Beck's Leaving the Saints, and another book on the Mountain Meadows Massacre whose name is escaping me, but I believe is called Red Mountain. One detail not addressed in Wood's book is the prevalence of heavy drinking among the early Mormon pioneers who were living in harsh dirty cold circumstances.I have no desire to put down anyone of any faith, but am concerned when any religion has a goal of national or world domination. ...
